Title ABO Desire
It is a pity this forum started so well, then the RL trolls came to visit and we could not get rid of them, now…
I don't know why I constantly read derogatory comments in this comment section about RL fans who supposedly want to do something bad to this series or supposedly rate it poorly. For example, in the RL comment section, I only read support for ABO Desire whenever the topic comes up. I think this artificially creates a hatred in the community that is unnecessary. BLs can coexist and be valued without constantly making it a competitive thing.

Regarding the novel/series issue, my view is that a series shouldn't be based on having to read the novel to immerse yourself in the story. It should be self-supporting. A series is a different medium than a book, so different decisions are made during production, and characters and their stories may differ.

I just want to say this, after seeing the grave scene I have honestly tried to forget about the deleted scenes…
A few weeks ago, when Xu Ning was under so much fire, there was a rumor that he was soft-banned and would be cut from Hi6 Saturday. Perhaps this is the episode that's just been released?

I have to honestly say that I now believe we haven't seen the version of the show that the director, crew, and actors wanted to show us. It really makes me sad when artists are restricted in their art.

And now I see Reels popping up everywhere claiming to show that ZY and TXN are together. And that really worries me for their future, not only because their privacy isn't being respected, but also because I don't want them to experience something similar to what the two actors from The Untamed experienced.

also opened an audition for wu suowei when ziyu was bald? (wsw is bald in the novel)
Yes, I know it's rumors and I'm honestly very cautious about taking it as truth. However, I think there was more than just her in the selection process for the lead actors, even though she probably had the main vote, and I can just imagine that everyone might have had other favorites and they settled on Zi Yu... That's really all I wanted to express. I'm also very cautious when it comes to all the other rumors and don't want to give them any credence. Also whether she really is/was in a hater group. But the reel was referring to that and that she supposedly ultimately influenced cutting CC and WSW's scenes and gave WS so much screentime because it was her favorite. And yes, there were other things listed in the comments about her relationship with other actors. I took note of it, but the accusations overall are strong. But as I said, I don't want to pass judgment on any of this. Because it just sounds absurd to me that she would sabotage her own drama....

sometimes you have to turn off your moral compass and common sense a bit to enjoy dramas like this one lmao. also,…
I would add to Lyson's comments (which I agree with) that the series has some time jumps. In the end, CC didn't have sex with anyone other than himself for over a year. This leads to the conclusion that they probably didn't just have sex once that night but at least fucked through the night, which in my mind is supposed to represent the “I can't sit still”. I mean, CC is actually portrayed as hypersexual (which completely changes in the second half though) and by that I think CC didn't hold back anymore. In other words, the outcome is probably meant to show that they did it frequently, persistently, roughly and passionately with each other and it was WSW's first experience.

Yesterday I was shown a reel on YouTube about the controversy surrounding CJD. In a comment, someone mentioned that CJD probably wanted Liu Jun as the lead actor of WSW and not Zi Yu. But whoever ultimately made the decision to bring Tian Xu Ning and Zi Yu together did something wonderful. (I could imagine that it was the cute director who saw it coming 🤭)

I will suggest stop watching the series altogether, because HY predatory behaviour is the main course of the storyline.…

Oh man, that's very sad. But it confirms my wish that the show should have been low key for a long time 😢
That's crazy to know that we might have seen an even more intense version if it hadn't gone through the roof (nationally) so early on.
And especially having seen this great, lovely director who was probably as big a fan as we were, it's very sad to read this. But that makes it make sense that the first half was smooth and the second half seemed completely different. It makes me mad to read that they destroyed her vision. I really don't like it when artists are messed with. Would really like to see their actual vision now.

Am I the only one who was really getting the ick from Hua Yong in the trailer for episode 8? I do not want to…
No, you're not the only one. After seeing the trailer, I realized that this might be the point where I drop out. Which is a shame because I think Elliot in particular is a wonderful actor. I really love characters in the grey area, I'm also very open about topics, but I have a problem when (emotional) and sexual abuse develops into a love relationship and abuse is romanticized as a result. Because if I'm completely honest, I see HYs behavior as obsession rather than love.

Guys, short offtopic... I just read on Gagaoolala that "Kill to Love" premieres on August 25th. Maybe it will lessen the sadness over the end of Revenged Love.

Yes indeed, the romance would start at the beginning of season 2...But unfortunately we don't get this 2nd season…
SW failed on purpose because he wanted to stay away from JT because he realized he was falling in love with JT. With the failed test, he was no longer good enough for the class and was transferred. In the end, however, he accepts his feelings and is prepared to follow them. So the ending is not as bitter as it seems at first.

The last time I felt this empty was when 'The On1y One' ended and we got told that there wouldn't be a season…
Oh, I feel you!
I've been thinking a lot lately that it's my summer BL 2025, just like The On1y One was last year. Except The On1y One broke my heart into 1000 pieces. 😭Especially with the drama surrounding season 2 (and I'm still so hoping for a miracle). They would have had a similar success internationally as RL! So I'm very happy to see a happy ending and lots of love, especially between CC and WSW. That healed a little inside me....

I have a question. I didn't watch the series yet, but i spoiled myself a lot because i couldn't stop myself (lol)…
My personal opinion: The first half was stronger story-wise. Maybe it's because they turned it vice versa and made clearer decisions.
The storyline of the first half had continuity and a clear goal.

In my opinion, too many new themes/dramas were opened up in the second half and I had the feeling that everything that occurs in BL universes and CDramas was packed in: From the ex-storyline (which I personally found rather so-so when they appeared. I probably would have cut it here), separation, the mother storyline (touching, wonderful), the kidnapping by the father (which Chinese dramas love somehow 🙄, but at the same time seemed like a parody, which was funny, but maybe could have been left out), the CC prison storyline (made sense from the overall plot, but the appearance of a protagonist was short and wasn't really clarified) to the end. I also found the scenes after the release from prison a bit random and somehow inappropriate. And from what I noticed, there were still some themes from the novel left out.
The second half was therefore inconsistent for me and the story sometimes didn't seem that strong.

What carries the series in my eyes are the actors. Both couples and the chemistry between the four of them are really great. And as I was reflecting today, I thought a lot of it was down to Tian Xu Ning's acting ability. Together with Zi Yu, they have a close, trusting and intimate connection. This shines through in the series. While Zi Yu has a great screen presence (his laughter and crying are just beautiful), I think TXN's good acting stabilizes Zi Yu's acting and makes him shine. But they also make each other shine. Together they are outstanding. Even with the other actors, I think the scenes have a special vibe when TXN is involved. Be it CC with CY or CC with WSW's mom. Looking at the show as a whole, I would say that TXN is the glue that holds the show together. I really like almost all the actors on the show though.

So I would agree with your impression. But I think it's definitely worth watching the show because the relationships between the characters are characterized by a naturalness and authenticity that you rarely get in BLs, as well as the fact that you can see the development of a relationship beyond the infatuation phase to real love.

As a result, my rating is much higher than it would be if I only rated the storyline and editing. The actors outshine the flaws of the series.
