I'm going off-topic for a moment...

It's a shame to see how the comment section has changed in the last 1-2 weeks. Where before it was about sharing the content of the show, how to manage to support the crew, how to generate visibility to increase the chance of a 2nd season and where commenters were supportive, now I see passive aggressiveness and personal attacks. We all know that a one word comment repeated 100 times adds no more value than when it was first uttered. Constructive criticism is justified and you have to put up with it, even if you love the series and it's hard to take. But what I don't like are personal attacks such as "you're a prude", "you're horny", "you're a naive child", "you're a bored 30/40 year old", "you're selfish because you're not so good at English and ask to write shorter texts".
Regarding the latter, I would like to say that if English is your 2nd or 3rd language and you are not advanced, it may be difficult to formulate and sentences may come across as harsher than they are meant to be. Why don't you bring suggestions from different translation tools, so that maybe there is something to integrate the person into the discussion.
As for the other comments, I would like to say that it doesn't matter who is watching and for what reason. I get so bored of comments like this in the comment sections on MDL.
You don't become better yourself just because you try to build up stereotypes / devalue your counterpart. I liked the community on this site because it was an open and cordial exchange and made the wait for the next episode a little sweeter. At the moment it's somehow just one of those comment sections where people like to bash each other. What a shame.... I wish we could just get back to being constructive and open with each other.

I don't know what your native language is, so I don't know exactly whether my recommendation will help you. In addition to Google Translate, there is also DeepL, which provides good translation services, but unfortunately does not yet include as many languages as Google Translate

I respectfully disagree with your comment. :) I don't think the supporting cast stands out visually. But I find Liu Dong Qin incredibly attractive and he stands out from the cast for me. Benjamin may not fit a certain ideal of beauty. But you only need to "experience" him for 5 minutes and his charisma captures you. Only a few people have that kind of charisma in my eyes. It has a completely different level of attractiveness.
What I like about the series is the naturalness of the actors, that's why they're all pretty to me. What many people in other series see as "above-average good-looking" wouldn't necessarily get the label for me because I find this kind of beauty so interchangeable. I like people with charisma.
What I'm trying to say is that tastes differ and that's a good thing, for me these are the two right leading actors. I also like the supporting cast, but I wouldn't see any of them in The On1y One as ML.

"The bed scene" - I mean the teachers or JT's father, I'm not sure who that is.
For JT and SW we will certainly only see a almost-kiss at the beginning of ep 11....

In my opinion, the “basic problem” is and remains that the director stays very close to the novel in order to satisfy both movie and reading audiences and I have the feeling that this is very difficult to realise. Even if there are some readers here in the comments section who are quite satisfied with the realization so far. From what I've heard, it also seems to be difficult to find a season finale while maintaining the pace and content of the novel. And in view of an uncertain season 2, I assume that they planned S1 with a happy ending, if it is the final ending, and went into the realization accordingly. I think that's why the love triangle was introduced, to provide more “tension” and at the same time to keep the pace of development in SW and JT in line with the novel...

But they tore the series apart even before it started because of the actors. (Benjamin and Eric were downright bullied and called “ugly”) And those same readers were very upset about the kiss in episode two, which wasn't in the novel. I think it's very difficult for the director to serve a movie and reading audience. Since he stuck to the novel, the author should actually be criticized... However, I do think that he accelerated the pace quite a bit. As for the novel itself, I don't know how old it is. That also has an influence. Maybe the director in S2 is more oriented towards the movie audience, since the series is internationally successful right now.

Nevertheless, I would make two points that I think make the current situation understandable. The most important: SW. What should I call him? He's not just face-blind, I'd say... He is not aware of his feelings at all. He only realizes in episode 10 that it might be something other than “brotherly love”. It seems to me that love between men isn't even on his radar. The second point is JT: on the one hand, he certainly doesn't want to admit his feelings, and on the other, he sees how naive and ignorant SW is. However, I do think that the need for physical closeness is there and visible.

I think what's being forgotten here in the comments at the moment is that we still have 2 episodes to go and we will definitely see a kiss. But I could imagine that, like in Pride and Predjudice, it will also fall at the very end. (As is the case with many other movies).

I think in the next episode we will see the teachers' bed scene and then in episode 12 we will see SW and JT. There will be more kissing and intimate scenes in S2. That's what the director said in the live.

And I'm somehow always surprised when people say they don't see any romance? You can see that JT has been in love for many episodes. SW just couldn't place his feelings throughout the episodes. There are emotional glances, touches and ambiguous sentences in almost every episode. For me, the feelings overflow in a subtle way. I like it when it's portrayed naturally and you don't have to tell me or show me in an exaggerated way that you're in love.

I don't know which Love Mix Up version you're referring to. I really liked the Japanese one, but it didn't trigger anywhere near the feelings for me that JT and SW do. They have a lot of tension between them and the sparks are flickering around.... In my eyes, you could tell from the beginning that it was never just friendship...

Maybe this is a bit offtopic, but I have the impression that many people can't stand slowness anymore, because in real life everything is immediately available when you want it and the wanting and not being able to have it is already a difficult feeling to bear. I like the pace. It's as if I can really take a deep breath from the fast pace and often superficiality of these days, discovering something very special layer by layer. Yesterday, for example, I noticed that even the comforter covers reflect the characters of the two and I love these details. And I can really lose myself in SW and JT.

I think the high ratings now have more to do with the review bombing that brought the series to 6.5 after episode 1. Over 1330 ratings after 2 episodes is a bit crazy. I think the ratings won't be reliable until about half of the series has aired.

Yes, Roman and TV have different speeds, so the tempo has already been adjusted... Didn't go down well with the novel readers, there was a lot of criticism after the first episodes. Even before it was broadcast, there was massive criticism and devaluation on Douban because the actors were too "ugly" for the target group, which was probably actually the mainland. They were downright bullied on the platform and Benjamin probably apologized at the beginning of the series for not portraying JT according to expectations.
That will be one of the reasons why they haven't continued filming.
Another is that the budget was so exhausted that it wasn't even enough for promotion. The attention the series has now is hard-earned and more through word-of-mouth and international fans. I think the question is how much profit the series is making now and whether it's enough for the investors. That's why nothing will be announced yet.
