These are some great young actors giving a clinic in this show. Another well written, well produced Tai BL. But…
Yes, I agree, the stepbrothers stories are incredibly popular and I find it a bit bizarre. (I especially didn't get on with Love by Chance and History 4) But here I don't think it's bad at all. They didn't grow up together, they met independently and they're older. For me, it's more like a randomly thrown-together flat-sharing community where people get to know each other and develop feelings. Also they are not stepbrothers in the legal sense.
Same. It went on way too long. Also, the author has obviously never had a beer if she thinks it would affect a…
Mmh, there are Asians who lack an enzyme to be able to metabolise alcohol, so there are some who have no tolerance. Also, alcohol knocks you out in a different way if you have an infection. And yes, you can get sick in a room with 16 degrees, air conditioning on and sleep without being covered up. (Unfortunately π)
I literally had to replay some parts and then pause 'cause I have to giggle first HAHAAHAHAH I attempted to watch…
Hey, you recommended The On1y One in the comments section of Addicted Heroin, right? I only started watching because of your comment. Thank you so much for this wonderful recommendation π
A bittersweet story whose mood was very well captured and realised by the actors.
In general, the plot idea is very interesting, but the realisation is somewhat lacking for me. More time would have done the storytelling good. The scene jumps were sometimes too abrupt for me and it was not clear whether it took place within 3 days or 3 weeks. But especially for the longing, the pain, the dependency, the realisation of one's own flawedness, the realisation that the protagonists live through a certain period of time would have been important for me. Even if a large number of scene jumps can be used as a stylistic device, I didn't always find the execution here ideal. What I personally find very annoying in films and series is when there are too many shakily filmed images. It takes me out of the story and takes something away from the aesthetics.
I could imagine that the points I mentioned are due to a small budget. I would have liked them to get a few more minutes per episode.
Wow the storytelling feels really good, the pacing is good, and the actors do a great job. The micro-expressions…
I also wondered the whole time why Sheng Wang looked so familiar to me. But I've already seen Liu Dong Qin in "Only for Love". He was one of my favourite pairings and I just didn't recognise him π
Wow the storytelling feels really good, the pacing is good, and the actors do a great job. The micro-expressions are top notch. I wasn't sure what to make of Jiang Tian in the 1st episode. Honestly, I thought the roles were rather reversed and Sheng Wang would take care of Jiang Tian... I'm glad 2 episodes are coming out a week. The show really warms my heart.
I have neither read the novel nor seen the first version, but I have seen Stay with me. The series was really…
After your comment, I re-read my post and realised it was easy to misunderstand, especially because there was only Wu Bi and Su Yu. I just wanted to save the names of the main characters π Thanks for pointing that out, it made it easy to clear up the misunderstanding. π
If you think it's okay to watch a 24-year-old playing the role of a 16-year-old and acting out sexual scenes... Personally, I find such scenes very uncomfortable. That's the difference, I realise what age is being portrayed.
And I'm telling you this in no uncertain terms, if you want to put me anywhere near a criminal, I will take action. That is defamation and a criminal offence. Accordingly, I will not respond to any more of your comments.
I haven't yet watched thr Chinese version. I don't know whether to watch that one first or not. Also I saw a clip…
I have neither read the novel nor seen the first version, but I have seen Stay with me.
The series was really good and I liked it a lot. If I had to compare them, I would say that Addicted Heroin goes in the same direction, so we will see more of an "innocent" film version. Addicted Heroin seems a little bit warmer and softer to me than Stay with me. (For sometimes obvious reasons) But I would say the MC was stronger in Stay with me. Hero stands out for me in Addicted Heroin. The plot is slightly different/extended (or I blocked out the ex-girlfriend in Stay with me) and in Stay with me the plot unfolds a little slower.
On the question of which one you should watch first, I would suggest watch the current version first. Because Stay with me is a safe bet and will draw you in even without much physicality. The MC is simply strong and also, for example, the childish side character.
I loved Pah's scenes, every one of them was powerful. I hope that Pie will get her due next episode. Since Pie,…
They are also my 3 favourite characters. Although I have to say that after the last episode I'd also like to see more of Jo... I think Pie already had her arc at the beginning of the series, so I have a hunch she'll stay on the sidelines. Even though I would like to see more of her.
It's shocking and absurd that you don't realise your own double standards.
It's not ok for a 16 year old to play a 16 year old. But it's morally ok for a consumer to watch a 16 year old film character in hot NC 18+ scenes?
That's fetishising a 16 year old. The people who are upset think they are getting hot scenes (do they want to?) without any indication that they will see them in this series and who cannot distinguish between drama and reality.
No self-respecting person would call an audience that likes a series that doesn't suit their taste "insecure nerds"...…
"This show is a fantasy written for an audience of insecure nerds, in which they get to pretend that a cool hottie like Takara could be drawn to them."
I'm referring to your quote. You assume that the target audience is insecure and nerds. I further infer that you want to devalue the audience ("insecure nerds, in which they get to pretend") because you are labelling the entire audience as such. A person who is confident doesn't feel the need to devalue others.
At the same time, you're trying to twist my words around a bit. Where exactly did I say "Are you asserting that only nerds are capable of meaningful relationships, or are you randomly lashing out?"
I didn't say anything like that and you're reading something into my words. You also don't have to explain to me how Taishin is written. Because a) I know how he's written and b) I didn't refer to his character in any way.
I was merely letting you know that people like Takara exist in real life (not just a pretty facade, but a person with depth who doesn't want a superficial relationship) and also relationships like the one depicted in the series.
Is it possible that the plot, such as it is, was written DELIBERATELY to be boring? That would explain everything…

Incidentally, there are a lot of handsome, cool dudes who have something like personality, aren't just superficial and don't want superficial relationships. You're simply generalising everything that's possible.
What makes you think Taishin is in his mid-20s? He has just started studying, which means he should be 18. He…
With pleasure. I think it's really great when you get into a good dialogue about a series. And if I don't want any rude answers, I'll set a good example.

The actors did a very good job. They made the viewer feel the emotions. Bittersweet thoughts and feelings linger.
The ending is half-open and so far fitting for me. A 2nd part would be good to incorporate the fiancΓ©e's statements. The scene between her and Ji Un seemed rather random.

Sorry if I confused you with my abbreviation.
