I would not mind seeing him in a fishing sports drama : aside from ball games and archery, that's his favorite hobby 😁. And it would be something new, don't you think? Just hoping some screenwriters and producers will get that idea. Not with too many mermaids thrown in to drown the story.

More info about the song : The lyricist Xiao Bin 潇彬, born in the PRC in 1990, is a prolific lyricist since 2007 (at the time, Baidu informs that "with an output of nearly one lyric a day, he created more than 800 lyrics in three years and then submitted his works to record companies"), being offered a contract in Taiwan, and also writing songs for famous singers like Liu Yuning, Zhang Zhehan... The composer, arranger and producer of the song, Daryl K 王凯玉 (Wang Kaiyu) is a well-known music producer and songwriter. His name is familiar to Huang Zitao's hailang fans, since he wrote the lyrics and/or music of many of his songs (including Tao's 2015 iconic T.A.O. and One Heart), and served as producer for Z.Tao's 2016 album "The Road". He has also written many songs for Jike Junyi, Tan Weiwei, TFBoys ; the "Diamond" song for Allen Ren / Ren JIalun's personal album "32 Li", and lots more, including drama OST songs for Liu Yuning (such as "The Only Light", the theme song for the drama "Hello, the Sharpshooter"), Zhou Shen ("Exchange" for the drama "Ms Crow and Mr Lizard"). Since 2021, he is the founder of Baimifan (Beijing) Cultural Communication Co., Ltd. (RYCE ENTERTAINMENT) which mainly covers five major business sectors: music content, artist management, label operation, integrated marketing, and investment and production. They hold copyright to over 600 works of music lyrics and music, and have a music production team handling marketing and promotion for film, television dramas, variety shows and artists.

Rather melancholy, but that drama (Angels Fall Sometime) is in the hopeful against the odds category... (The drama is just releasing since yesterday evening March 9, so I'll perhaps watch it together with the other Lin Yi drama, which I clicked on for a quick fix of light fluff to change from the gloom and doom of Eternal Brotherhood where I still find that GOT like universe of Zichuan fascinating, although I'd hoped to see more of Liu Yuning who is playing one of the three sworn brothers ML there. So, if there had not been the two days pause in releasing episodes, I might not have strayed to watch Lin Yi, and found the new song of Evan Lin, albeit the drama it's for is not in the quick light stuff category ! )

It's been a while since songs or dramas were posted for Evan Lin / Lin Yanjun. I was wondering , like others here, what happened; has he been totally away from entertainment and filming for over two years???

I liked his playing in Crush and in Fall in Love, which I recently re-watched (also because of Cheng Xingxu and Zhang Jingyi). So I hope Evan LIn is not unable to come back on stage one way or another, or that we'll get good news from him if he's decided to do something else.

She is playing as FL Zichuan Ning in currently airing Eternal Brotherhood, a dark fantasy and political struggle costume drama set in the fantasy land of Zichuan, from a famous Chinese novel of the 2000s. However, she has garnered some dissatisfaction because of the script that makes her character over-represented and too childish, prone to temper tantrums and fixated on a childhood sweetheart who has grown and seems not to be interested in her, despite she is heir apparent to the throne of the vast country, fraught with armed uprisings, famines, internal strife, and threat from across its borders. Not an easy role, as it will be easily misunderstood to show "no growth" for too long, and the character was secondary in the original novel.

OK, so you too haven't seen those young actors that are supposed to be in the cast. I assume it must be in the last 6 episodes then, unless there were cuts that suppressed their very discreet parts altogether.
The flashbacks for the young Xiu and young Ning were really short.

We have time off until Monday on this drama, so I'm going to spend the weekend on something else probably.

Did your answer for the flashback appearances focus on the anime version?

I was wondering where in the drama version did young SYL and young DL appear if it was in the 18 released episodes.

I remember the flashbacks when Xiu played music with Ning, when he was adopted, when he was keeping watch for her while she slept as a kid. Can't remember the three brothers meeting at military academy in the drama. Should I re-watch the first episodes more closely again? or was it inserted in later episodes that you' remember with precision?

Yes the drama has longer running time.
And we got perhaps more than 5 hrs there of Zichuan Ning superfluous young baby-adult "love story", that overshadows the struggle epic, and cause negative reactions. sigh. It does not encourage me to go re watching everything. (also :I am getting too tired these days to do even what I need to do.)

sigh, yes. It was in the top ten for last week, but we shall see how it fares this weekend; not sure it's still that high... Lots of other web dramas pushing on.
I think a lot of people came because of LYN performance as Ning Yuanzhou in AJTL. Me included... Even knowing this would not be so excellent, since much older drama.

No I was answering to the comment about the donghua, that's why I wrote "a very long part" (as you say: several episodes: I was loooking specifically to find what the donghua had as model for the drama... ).
In the drama, we only see extremely short snippets about their youth. There should be some about SiYiLin and Di Lin' youth as well, but if they have already been shown, I must have been sleeping... Can't remember where. If someone does, please point me to right track ?

yes there is..... so the longer ones should be "cut in two parts, with second part released.... after 6 months delay if they were not filmed before the reg came in, and did not get a waiver.

yes, she IS listed as FL and well... even if it clearly the original story is not a romance centric story, the scriptwriters tweaked in too much of that here in terms of screen time. I admit it warps the story towards what it should not be.
Hoping these eps 15-18 will now leave rest of time for the real story.
