I read the novel a long time ago and heard the author add new extra chapters. 1. Their first night, which was…
Esteemed member of MDL HanyVu translated it and posted it as suggested by me on the https://kisskh.at/discussions/hidden-love/108799-book-vs-show
Since HanyVu had access to the Chinese source, I suggest you could use the link there to DM with them about your request.
It would also be nice to add the Chinese source info link to that pinned post there perhaps.

My feeling about Jiaxu and his calling her 妹妹 from the beginning and well into the university first period, is, that he felt both indebted to his college "blood brother" and family and also viewing them as the family he lacked since his mother was dead, his father in a coma, and nobody cared about him, even looked down on him as a paria until he graduated from high school. So he was treating the mischievous little girl as a sort of little sister or little cousin, whose birthdays and achievements he could mark with gifts of cuddly toys, not really noticing that she was growing too old for stuffed toys and lightyears from realizing she, at 17, really could have else than bizarre passing crushes on perhaps shady persons out to lure her on the internet.
She never showed much that she liked him differently from her elder brother, so he did not suspect anything else went on in her head, and that was comfortable for him, who was focused on work, grades, making money and starting a career in another part of the country where he did not really expect her to show up, especially after the airport episode.
At the time when he was sick when he met her at the airport, when she was 17, he had been specifically asked by Sang Yan and his family to find her and send her back, which he did, of course. Not for any sweet fellings for her but as a blood-brother or family member duty. So no, he was not bent at the time on protecting Zhi no matter what. She was just a junior friend, a child of his "closest family", so doing what was needed and asked was in order.

The meeting at the karaoke was happenstance, so all,at once, he would wonder and dig for information about how she had been, why she had not answered messages (not that it had really irked him until then because the "little sister" or distant cousin certainly had better things to do than to text a former tutor extensively) and why she had chosen to go to his town's university : she answered with believable reasons. So he could still consider her as a "child" of the family he was indebted to, and resume a light protective behavior such as giving her honey to make a healthy drink in case she had been mischievous enough to drink too much with the university students, and drive her to her dorm so she would not risk bad encounters on the way, late at night. This is totally fitting the "friend" and "distant family member" behavior.

Actually, later, after she got drunk and he rescued her (same reasons as before: family nember in need) and she then confessed she had an "unrequited love" for someone, he did feel slightly uneasy and jealous when he realized that the young woman had a crush in the university and that could be on the tall basketball player.
At first, he was torn between realizing that he could not view her any longer as the child, and that she was old enough, past 18 going to celebrate her 19th birthday, to fall in love with someone her age. So even if he told her while she was passed out drunk, that he would like to be the one she had a crush on, he was preparing himself to let her go and not act as third wheel. If she had made a choice on Jiang Ming, and although he felt uneasy and slightly disapproving, as all parents do when they do not really know who their growing child is choosing to love.

But sometime after the drunk scene, he came to the conclusion that she was perhaps still free and that his own feelings had slowly turned to admire and like her more as a woman, so perhaps someday he might love her more than just like her (if she accepted that)
She had not recoiled in horror when he mentioned that he could be prepared to date a girl her age.
So, now that he was free to take his head out from work only and could think of romancing someone, he started to both be jealous (oh! the bubble gum popping scene when he quizzed her!) and focused on winning her, as efficiently as designing a programme for RPGs. But he was also prepared to wait and respect her until she reached the minimum age for marriage (20) and even until she finished her university studies.
That they got together in the summer heat month just before the autumn where she turned 20 was still totally socially and sentimentally acceptable: they got used to each other and could choose more freely when she reached 20. He waited until she was 23 to propose, after having also won the acceptance of her parents, and established his company in her hometown so the family would niot be separated by distance: that was also a great sign of respect on the part of Jiaxu, to thus make his career conform with their family choices.
To me, the story was just sweet, totally acceptable, nothing to suspect as not wholesome in the evolution of their relationship.

Yes for an inexperienced guy who had had his head buried into work only, even when he did tutoring and pedagogy, he suddenly accelerated after the curve to full bullet train speed once he realized he was feeling unexpectedly amorous lol
Did you read the sequel chapter of the wedding night? It's in the Discussion about book & drama. It would probably tickle you no end !! 😂😂😂

No, you don't. As long as you have an account. There is a bell icon at the top of the screen. If you click on…
Poor you! But anyway, welcome to c dramas and the best Zhao Lusi modern drama (best ZLS costume one is Love Like The Galaxy).
(I noticed that up till now you were and remain almost exclusively a Korean drama watcher. Perhaps you will also watch some c dramas too after Hidden Love?)
Happy you enjoyed this one almost as much as I did : I am always generous and see no reason to be stingy in my rating, when I like a drama.
So to me it was straight 10, a glowing review, and likewise full 25 entries for Episode guide to pinpoint the puzzle pieces and remind of some highlights ("Episode Guide" is the thumbnail next to "Details", before "Cast & Crew" and "Reviews" on top of this drama page)
+ albeit I did not find access to that feature immediately, I have also contributed a copious Discussion : It pins interesting info and some links about fancy stuff such as "Shooting location and dates", "ZLS wardrobe and bags in the drama", "CZY car" pictures of sets, "film and drama industry in Xiamen", one bar named like the song that made CZY recoil when ZLS teased him about his first audition, how to make paper stars, recipe for a vegan non dairy lemon pie, + a sort of directory for the other Discussions. You are welcome to visit them in addition to my own Discussion page, Direct link https://kisskh.at/discussions/hidden-love/109103-shooting-locations-and-dates-misc-other-links

Depends on how many replies there were to the start of the conversation. But on the computer and on my phone app, the replies appear as highlighted on a light blue background, so they are not too difficult to find if you don't have too serious color blindness (I am slightly color blind and see some colors differently from other people, but it's ok).

Link please..ty
Thanks for spreading to wider audience readership the good words.... 😂
That for sure would have been censored lol
The only thing that would have been left was the end line :
""Uhm." He kissed her lips, his peach blossom eyes curled up, "Wife, I love you." (deliciously exotic and mellifluously fruity)
A nice lewd blue piece of erotica : Google translate must have had fun; did you dust it off some or was it only the translating tool's version ?
Wondering at the author's view of the woman: why on earth would she have been so disapproving as the dialogue seems to indicate, wanting to fend him off her nuptial consummation ? The Gege repeat becomes almost buffoonish. 😂

What is this amazing acting CZY ...very nice face expression ..very natural ..mature character ...
As I wrote before, I'll be keeping an eye out for more CZY after Our Secret, Mr Bad, and this one.
Btw CZY's got a "Yuan Bao" idol fandom name with his Weibo link reporting 12.233 million fans ( 粉丝1223.3万) even if he was not the most well-known "idol" since his debut in King of Pop in 2015.
Here are some glimpses of CZY "wild youth" as "Mr Bio" and the infamous audition for King of Pop : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7WoWVz-jqs that he was embarrassed about in the recent livestream.
And this one, which is so funny about CZY fanboying himself, debating whether the drama is spicier than the food. No lipstick there, surely!

It’s weird that you created this account just to share this feedback, when everyone else is just praising ML…
it does somehow feel like one of the "I love Lusi but" or "I love Hidden Love but" devices from "Internet water army" hmmm ? Lipstick my foot.

Makeup was quite light and tasteful in this drama, not like the foundation gate that struck poor 2Bin recently (but he remains among my favorite, also for the graceful and humorous reaction he had to the "scandal". Anyway, I like 2Bin for his voice that can't easily be made up !! Presently following that actor together with YY, in another drama, but I'll be keeping an eye out for more CZY after Our Secret, Mr Bad, and this one)

Title Our Secret
I rewatched that one after Hidden Love, because my first watching it had gone unrecorded, although I liked it among other youth romances that I was casually watching then. I agree on rewatch that it is deeper and better than my superficial and partial impression - something had gone in the way so I had left to complete it "later". I think this is indeed a good drama in the filmography of Chen Zheyuan and Rainbow Xu. Worth the time spent on the 24+ episodes.

Ding Xian (Rainbow Xu) is a tenacious girl, stronger than she initially appears, despite the low expectations from her mom who wanted to dictate her choice of studies. Zhou Siyue (CZY) has an interesting evolution from the straight-A high school student to the rocky path of student in university. The friends, family, and some teachers ("auntie" Mr Liu) are adding variety to the story but do not hog too much space.

wow what a beautiful show....now what to watch next as good as hidden love? recommendations pls
My personal favorites, which could be watched after HL if not already known, although they have tough moments because more "adult themed" :
Love Like The Galaxy (this is a costume drama, with unforgettable Zhao Lusi and Wu Lei)
One and Only + Forever and Ever (first part is costume, second one is modern reincarnation)
Lighter and Princess
The Forbidden Flower

Almost only sweet, mature audience but no controversy :
Road Home
Hi Venus!
Meet Yourself
You Are My Glory

Among the youth romance category :
Time and Him Are Just Right (from which the song that Jiang Ming played is borrowed)
A River Runs Through It
Our Secret
Go Ahead
Put Your Head On My Shoulder

And in the xianxia, xuanhuan categories :
Ashes of Love (first part is very funny, middle part is costume drama, last part is dark drama)
Till the end of the moon (but there are tough moments and an ambiguous end)
The Starry Love
The Eternal Love 1, 2 and 3 (mostly sweet)
