Happy you changed your mind. 😊Now can you change your hasty first extremely damaging review? (which I wrote…
I did notice that you had posted a second review, but why let stand the disparaging one ?
I did not address you personally when I commented against first reviewers who did not give the drama a proper chance. So perhaps that's why you did not notice my comment then.
And I am the one who granted a "helpful"click to your second review.

@Ayvan ived, I agreed to you. Maybe some of them hating the drama because they did not finish watching it and…
It looked like that to me too, although some really were hung up on what they viewed as triggering (esp not seeing what FL did wrong in climbing up to the obvious trap: meeting a near cripple up there ?? .And why not have insisted not going up there without ML and/or other friend?)
Some messages then were really shrill in their hate of ML and absolving FL of any guilt because she got hurt.
I admit SAB can be a polarizing show. I still am not finding it worthy of being burned.
On A Date with the Future Jun 18, 2023
I have a question for the detail oriented. Do you know where this drama was shot?
And which cities would be model for Huaigang and Huining?
Looking at Chinese characters in writing (hospital front...), Huaigang would be a name that means "port city on the Huai river", so that could be Lianyugang which is the interesting "eastern terminus of the New Eurasian Land Bridge and the proposed Northern East West Freight Corridor. The New Eurasia Continental Landbridge continues by land, connecting Lianyungang with over 40 countries and regions in Europe, South Asia and the Middle East by railway networks. " Lianyungang links to Rotterdam , a distance of 11,870 kilometres (7,380 mi).
But the skyline shown on and off in the drama has a landmark skyscraper that looks more like Shenzhen KK100, no? (Opened in 2011,, "Until 2015, it was the tallest building in Shenzhen, when the Ping An IFC was built. That one also seems to feature in the skylines).
Does someone have more info ?

Are episodes 31-36 already available with eng subtitles?
yes on fast track, but am watching as regular VIP user; perhaps, if you are impatient, you can try kiss, if you can tackle the last four in raw.

10/10🤩🤩 who cares about others opinion in this drama.
Not that good for me, but happy that some liked it enough to not want to throw it into the pits some would like see it thrown into.
Thank you for having expressed your positive view 😊

Wow, for all the problems in this show, I have to say, they really hit the nail on the head in ep 12 when they…
That's what I meant when I was writing here that people should not take dramas at a compass for their life and thoughts (looking for models on how to or how to not behave in real life). Me, I had fun looking at the festival of tropes, enacted or mentioned as in that "research" moment. Waiting to see how the story would twist one into a new take on the model. Which it did, more or less, even to the shoving booklets into hands in the end although that was too expedited.
I liked yr review, btw, agree with much of what y stated there.
Mine is certainly too long.

I am not an expert but I am pretty sure the ML does not have a bipolar disorder :D He may have a borderline personality…
My thoughts exactly.
I don't think bipolar disorder can be as miraculously cured as in this drama. Had a real bipolar acquaintance who was using meds all the time and could not drive because of them. And another who did but had to be listened to patiently when sufferer was venting during endless psychotic sounding rants (because I am a "Good Samaritan"). That one could never have acted as CEO of a company (even a wholly owned one).
Borderline personalities I have met a few of. Difficult people but not necessarily impossible to live and work with, even with no acting as their submissive doormat. Decisive and dominating enough to be business leaders, but not necessarily faithful to their company : they may suddenly up and go elsewhere, they don't care is people trust or care about them or not. That looked more like the type Luo Zheng was acting, until the morphing into relatively good guy who was aware of people around him and fell for the pouting FL.

Hey hey hey. I watched entire drama now. First I believed others opinion and comments and fast forward entire…
Happy you changed your mind. 😊
Now can you change your hasty first extremely damaging review? (which I wrote I had objections to, a while ago).
Not that SAB is an unforgettable masterpiece to me, but with my limited experience of c-dramas, it is quite okay. It is showcasing Luo Zheng's skills rather better than the previous one I watched. I am more reserved about the idol actress, whose character I did not admire, and this was the first time I saw her. I admired the skill of Guo Jianan, the actor who plays the vicious SML here : perfect two faced antagonist, when in another drama he was an innocent and very sweet one.
I also tried to state my views about this drama in a review, but it is a (probably too) long one, so likely not what readers of reviews look for.

Yes, GY mom did explain to her son. GY was unconcerned about the matter before QJ raised it. Why she was misunderstanding…
I seem to remember that when QJ said she found records, she was shown rummaging in some drawers in a partly dark place, mysteriously; so that is very puzzling, why would she do that?
Inquiring in every hospital and clinic if her "family member" was there or had been sent elsewhere would be first reflex after knowing there had been an accident. She should have found out where he was then, by describing him, giving information about his size, address, etc, as if he perhaps had been taken in as a John Doe. (although would he really have had no ID on him when he was driving??)
Of course, if SJ had been there under another name, in a coma, that might be more difficult to find, but then when he reappeared it should also have raised a red flag for her: who he was with, why... We saw SJ in hospital with legs in casts : he could not run away, but could have asked for a phone to reassure his lover if he cared about her.
Fang mom explained in last episode that she had tampered with evidence concerning the car accident, but did not say to my recollection anything about tampering with medical records, she also said it that it so happened that when GY was in a coma, there was a heart donor who fit his previous condition. Not telling who though, but as if it was an unknown, and certainly not SJ.
I wondered briefly if this could have been the very sick and dying SJ mom who donated the heart, so QJ was mistaken if there really was a name mentioned on the records she found. Would the records mention the rest of the body had been cremated ? I don't know how such records are made or kept, so as a layman would not know how to look for and find such records in the first place, wondering how QJ would have found them in a hospital, or how such records could have been kept in Gu house if she found them later after having already been hired as trusted secretary.
But then why and when did she apply for the job? Perhaps not because of the heart blabla, but had she got told the accident was linked to Gu Yi who was the other victim, so she suspected there was foul play and Gu Yi had caused it, thus using a providential job offer to get near to them?
Even then, it is not clear where she had found those records : if it was in GY house, when and how and why did she get close enough to Gu family in first place (seducing Gu Yi like a Mata Hari? How did she morph so suddenly from innocent and shy student to such unashamed promiscuous spy behavior?) esp. if she did not know already then that SJ was a son of Gu Nan, nor that GY had got a heart transplant perhaps from SJ. If she was illegally searching in hospital records, how did she get access and knowledge about where to look?
Indeed, why would she have tried to stay with GY despite he not know her, have no feeling for her, treating her not even really as a valued "secretary", but like a slut, and showing his worst borderline behavior to her during that time, if she only had a hunch and no hard proof about the heart and not the rest of the body she was looking for ?
It does stay a buried in the past mystery or big plot hole.
Did I miss something there?
I am not going to re-watch it anyway, because, as much as I had fun and thrills watching the roller coasting drama then, this was not one I was going to go back to : I watched it closely enough that I doubt I missed a clue, and have no time for it any more, too much on my watch-list besides other stuff to do. That some plot holes remain in a drama is not first time, but it will not make me lose sleep once the watching is over, and I have moved on to other ones.

Yes, the Fish is not so wholesome as the shorter one, so sorry for even having mentioned it. Tried one episode and likewise, did not stay...
But by midsummer, we shall be swamped again with exciting titles.

The Insomnia was a very pleasant modern fairy tale with fluffy dolls. We did not get to see their future adorable kids, but we did get to see a long kissing moment, and a cute kid's "ideal family" drawing.
On Mr. Insomnia Waiting for Love Jun 17, 2023
This drama was so sweet that I could not help dropping lines of praise in review and rate it accordingly. Contrary to the disparaging review by someone who did not bother watching it through, criticizing the realism when it was so obviously a modern fairy tale, well done.
I did not even mind the big "gift" bow that our doll Snow Kong proudly wore !

That's definitely a quicker cookie : 18 x 9 or11 minutes episodes with already 10 posted to kiss ? Fun and mystery? Looks like nice dessert watching too . I still have an hour idle so might gobble up the 10 spoonfuls... - thanks for recom ;)

Since we're going trippin' to islands, have you cast a glance at Fish Show You ? 18 x 40 mins on Youku. 6 episodes out already on kiss. Might be nice too when caught in a heat wave and gasping for air or a fresh sea breeze!

Yes, eagerly waiting for finale while tackling on a whim first episode of Dominator of Martial Gods because of the sensational title :)

I will check out the relevant MDL page later, after having viewed this first episode without other influence. That's how I watch dramas, usually.
Now putting on hold some other ones that I find I am finally less involved about. I may come back to them after finale : they are not bad, or boring, just I heaped too many on my "watching" plate, so need to put some in the "virtual fridge" for later, esp since more fresh excitement is being forecast for after midsummer day ;)

the fact they're 20 and 22 respectively is so crazy to me like they're literal babies (oh god i'm so old)
The characters yes (which makes the story a fairy tale one, but don't we love those, bow in the hair and all), but the actors are quite seasoned and more in their 26-27 years old. This was a nice drama thanks to the cute pair of dolls (Tongtong and Yanxu).
Love and forgiving, future oriented pragmatist mind will cure all past wrongs, the serious ones and the peccadilloes: to reform and to be faithful after having been exposed is what matters. How pleasant, not to insist on public apologies and losing-face humiliations for the money grubbers, liars and power seekers. And yes, reminding that trials and challenges are also opportunities, so a game that seems lost is not always a defeat, and No is not always a final answer.
Other takeout : the threat of Go feed mosquitoes in Africa, how dire a curse! (Oh, I do hate tiger mosquitoes that are now everywhere, not only in China, causing very painful allergy reactions to some. But on the other hand, mosquitoes are really the worst creatures on this planet, with all the diseases they can bring; not only causing insomnia with their bzz around ears while out camping).
Finale in 15+ hours... What shall we bet on : lovely colored flowers and fluffy grand wedding, glimpse of future with cute look alike twin kids ?

Do you. This is what Baidu explained about the OST : The ending theme song is called 《嘉宾》(Guest), written…
Well, I noticed it in longer dramas too.
The Forbidden Flower (love that torrid romance!!) for instance recycled some songs too, one from a US movie that already got a Chinese adaptation in the webdrama Addicted Heroin, a famous HK song, and one haunting Korean OST one that got an English version for TFF.
TFF carried me away enough so that I contributed to Discussion piece about the shooting locations.
Perhaps I'm attracted more than others to possibly controversial shows. I also loved Lighter and Princess (OST is fire too) and Love Like The Galaxy in recent years.

The child in the beginning, in the taxi, was ML young brother. The child in the end episode at the Public Affairs bureau is probably our FL+ML son since he rushes to FL to call her "mom", but you are right that this is suddenly dropped on us with no explanation on when, how, etc. Nor in which (perhaps imagined future) year since the story seemed to happen not later than 2019 overall.

Yes. It was said in the drama that he was cured of it in the first episodes. Perhaps it was a mistake in presentation…
Really surprising 180° character change after Gu Yi realized he was losing the one he really cared to keep most. "Love cures all", hahaha! Was this a romance? To me it was 80pc a thriller.

Anyway, I can't say I was bored or hated this drama, so, since there are some who want to scare off possibly interested audience with harsh condemnation and pronouncements that they felt good about dropping it (they are free to do so, of course), I decided to do a piece of review about it. Usually, I am too lazy an audience to spend time with reviewing chore. Even the ones I like best are often not reviewed by me, but I may express my views when I feel the reviews are too one sided, or when I think I really have something to add to or rave with what others wrote first.
Even then, when I contribute a pinned discussion about some background feature in a drama, I don't bother much about reviewing. Skip A Beat being a thriller romance not necessitating background, I did not put up a discussion here, just contributed (perhaps too much) to general conversation here, reaping a nice recom to watch one Korean drama (Goblin) that perhaps, I will look up in the future. And some nice links to check out related to drama stuff, although spending time looking up more about Luo Zheng, He Ruixian, and songs were already much from me.
So this and my review will wrap my involvement with commenting here for Skip A Beat...
