(They had a big box of snacks already.) why do you think a movie actress would use hotel refrigerators to store food and heat it up in microwave later ? only the poor travelers strapped for money do that. or the very stingy from very old generation. (I am amused by your certainty that ALL hotel rooms have a mini refrigerator but that's not the point.)
In this drama, the trailer or hotel certainly has appliances, but it is only a temporary shelter, not a place to store food. Qin Fei likely eats out already with colleagues or friends for regular meals (if she is not on hunger dieting) and would not go fill her belly to get fat eating alone at night. Eating out in China is inexpensive. You can even order food to your hotel room. You don't need to bring a dabao yourself (unless you are very old and very stingy, and not afraid of being seen as ridiculous, if the hotel staff or guests notice your unnecessary lugging food bags as if the country was going to be hit by a sudden famine and you need to hoard food even if you were to travel out next day! oh, remember: on flights, foodstuffs are not always accepted.)

That would not be believable here since Qin Fei was not going to be storing food in a trailer or hotel room. Plus she went away in a hurry to avoid getting an earful from people trying to set up blind dates for XZZ

I thought she only came to kill time, waiting a spell, in the Yang restaurant : she is supposed to be dieting to look like a half starved pauper for the movie she is filming in the drama... If she paid for the food and did not take it home in "dabao" (what Western people call "doggie bag"), that means the food will go back to the kitchen and staff perhaps, since it has not been touched and there is a regulation against waste of food in the PRC. Besides, I don't know how you can say that what she ordered is an "insane amount of food": the table was not big and she did not need a second table to get her dishes! On the money side, even a big meal doesn't cost that much in a restaurant in the PRC, except in very fancy ones (this was just an ordinary eatery).

since you have dropped, that's your problem. I don't think you really watched the drama before cutting at ep12 with a 5 rating, because it's clear you mistook Xiaoxiao with a less important starlet, from start.

Even reading through the episode guide notes, if you had no patience because you don't like the visuals, you could have avoided misunderstanding.
The "third couple" is by no means an exception in this type of dramas and does serve a purpose even if you misunderstood. Not "useless". I also appreciate that it stayed up till ep12 in support without hogging too much screen time as in, say, "A Romance of the Little Forest" where the secondary, very useless 2nd couple, hogged time to max. I reserve my opinion about ABL developments until ep.36.
But you are watching so many dramas simultaneously that it's understandable you could not identify who was who and what was what... sigh. And it is your privilege to drop, if a drama doesn't grab your attention. Although not very honest to shoot it down in rating, because of a misunderstanding on your part and telling it "fell apart" to justify yourself.
Personally, I'll wait till end to give my own rating, because even if this is certainly not the most thrilling item of the season or year, I find it decent, although not exceptionally original. But I admit to a bias for Chen Xingxu, one among many actors I appreciate and therefore watch more from : my list of interesting actors is getting long, but I know why I watch what I do, and why I'd say this season's top dramas are not in the sugar department.
I see you have tackled The Tale of Rose. That one is not the easiest, despite the flamboyant parts of unreasonable post adolescent virgin love there, which thrilled sugar-only addicts. You will probably stay on the surface, hating the manipulative fixated Fang Xiewen and clamoring to have Meigui get back with Zhuang Guodong or cry for Jiamin, and be frustrated at the end of the pilot's episodes. Maybe you'll like only the outfits, which are not true to period like the other details. It's a story that goes deep and is not fishing for shallow romance loving only audience who love to gush, blame, or hate without perspective. Crystal Liu, Lin Gengxin and the others in cast played their roles to perfection, and the cinematography was also very beautiful. Some "stranger" parts like the nightmare sequences reminded me of great directors movies, such as Guillermo Del Toro's fantasy or horror movies ; the role of these sequences in depicting Meigui's trauma are well woven in the drama.
For a change from sugar, you could if you dare, try to watch the most-lauded drama of the season: She and her Girls, although it is not easy to watch it on original wetv platform because of geo restriction. 9.4 Douban rating: totally exceptional, despite it is an apparently simple story.

But in YAMG, Yu Tu did not chicken out once he got back in touch with Jingjing after the many years where he only could regret having rejected her and only admire her posters on billboards 🥰 It's true his position was not easy, as he did not earn huge salaries even as a leading engineer in top secret astronautical research, but he did have unexpected backing from government in his affair (remember the hilarious paparazzi scenes?) and this even helped keeping the actress safe from gossips mongers!

My answer of 3 days ago to same question which pops up repeatedly : They both hide truths intentionally or not. The lies are not of the vicious sort intended to mislead for unwholesome purpose, but "beautiful" as in "merciful", to oil over the hidden wounds they hope will disappear with time.
The title of the drama and novel can be translated as "even your lies are beautiful" (lies as plural). The "new" English title both simplifies and misleads.
Qin Fei did not explain to Xing Zhizhi truthfully when he asked why she disappeared 18 years earlier. (by now she at last came clean about her sudden bereavement then) As for the doctor, he was not sure why she disappeared before, so he was not forthcoming after having himself left her and not stayed close after the blast 5 years earlier, that forced her to change career from dancer to artist. (Even if he'd stayed, he could not have saved her from the damage done, and anyway, she was so groggy then that she did not recognize her brief rescuer, but he did not explain to her why he knew first hand about her physical vulnerability.) Further lies: Qing Fei intentionally tried to push Xing Zhizhi away through cutting him off, appearing cold, fatalistic, unconcerned, wonder-woman strong and healthy (hiding her past injury to the show safety team and productions), unashamed of her bad reputation to the point of teasing XZZ about her (never true) past boyfriends. She lies to him and to herself that she just want to stay friends, because she's got a psychological condition called avoidant attachment : "having an anxious/avoidant attachment style is linked to avoidant personality disorder. People with this attachment style tend to report that their parents didn't often express love or affection. Your parents might have been around physically, but felt distant when you reached out to them for closeness or support." (Qing Fei's mom was like that and especially hurtful when she broke the news to her daughter about her dad's death ; in fact, the little girl might even have thought that she caused his death through her wish for new ballet shoes!)

We are not there yet. Up till now, leads have a reasonable time slot. Secondary couples don't hog too much time and that's fine. There is one which appears to be an ex couple and not on the mend anyway (Xiaoxiao and the captain).
On episode 1 really love it but I think they are trying to advertise car in this episode. But still liking it…
