Are you sure the author is one of the screen writers ? I did not spot Tan Tianyin in the list of four screenwriters acknowledged on the crew list. There are 23 chapters now, but since this drama started after the first 10 got reviewed and translated, you are right of course. The scriptwriters teamed to imagine a story "based" on the original novel root, but not growing same way and using other original input. Hello, aren't you tracking also The Story of Pearl Girl? It broke 7000 on premiere day November 1 and stood above 10 000 already yesterday 🙌 , if I am not mistaken. Phenomenal? Of course, it's been much anticipated and hyped even by a string of other stars and people who gave testimony about the Tang dynasty features and "maritime road". And it is a rather thrilling story too, not a simple copy of the e-novel basis but rather a new creation from same root.
We did not see it in the pot though... Perhaps, alternate fate, it was a gander that went off to father a lot of goslings ? (we never saw it laid eggs, golden or not).

Yes... I took note of Ci Sha in that other drama too. He played the star-crossed character Mei Xing who disregarded the girl who loved him till death, and was forever unable to express his infatuation for the one he'd first noticed in a crowd and felt poetical affinity with later. He had to keep a respectful distance to Shi Yi, as the friend of Zhousheng Cheng so was never a rival there. Ci Sha's role as rival in A Date With The Future was much paler than here: Lu JiaXue certainly stood out in this cast.
