Up till #27, nobody we got to know (except a couple of villains) died although there were some close calls :)

no need if you have not invested already, even with vpn it can be tricky, as I checked, before trying with borrowed vpn to access the HK wetv channel of Youtube, which was watchable thus. I am a good citizen too, with a fully paid I think 2 years advance VIP sub + paid subscrptions to boot, as gifts to friends!! The georestriction made me angry !

it did not help that it was so geo restricted that even for youtube you needed a vpn set in SEA or HK! It's been widely watched in that zone, thus earned the stellar 9.4 Douban rating...
But anglophone and other countries were kept outside the door, even for duly paid VIP subscribers like me, raising my shackles to revolt and break down the walls with vpn and kiss and cool where they finally uploaded the subbed version while wetv platform stubbornly keeps the message "temporarily unavailable in your region", as of oct.15.
I'm on rewatch now after having first watched in raw on kiss before :)

Curious : were you sitting in real or virtual "authorized" zone (SEA and "Middle Earth" )?
(I am currently docked in the far wide world light years away so can empathize with the frustrated who came and were turned away for no good reason)

It gives a lot of background info and I was stunned to realize that Nie Yuan was the same actor who played Lu Zhengyang alongside Chen Zheyuan in Dark Night and Dawn, and several actors were cast members of Love Like The Galaxy, directed by same director Fei.
I had noticed the standing of She and Her Girls for eps9-10 back on September 18, when I had a look at CVB average ratings for two other dramas which I was watching (The First Shot ep21, and Dark Night and Dawn ep1) , and also that it was number one in dramas streaming in China for the previous week and number two last Sunday for week ending Oct.7, so that's what got me curious.
I have to say I binge watched She and Her Girls that weekend, even feeling my eyes well up at one moment (although I am usually rather stone hearted and not prone to cry for drama characters) and elated at many other ones.
It's a true life story, slice of life, good visual biography of the real Zhang Guimei's best achievement, with no really dull moments.
Wish it would be put on Viki so everyone could watch, or at least that the georestriction be waived for it.
