"I’m ok with the straight couple"The second gay couple from the source material didn't make it to the adaptation,…
Common sense, they say. These fans of the adaptation are so far removed from it that a GPS, a map, and a detailed tutorial wouldn't be able to help them find their ways to common sense
"Does Da On have a magic b***y or something? Why are three men into him? No, seriously, why? ..."
Da On possesses a rare combination of inner and outer beauty that attracts other men. A loveless upbringing didn't harden his heart. He grew into a man who gives love freely, his heart so vast he forgets to direct some of the love toward the one person needing it most, himself. That’s when Seong Hyeon, his green flag, enters the picture. He reminds Da On to love himself more
My question isn’t "why three men?" It’s "why only three?" With his beauty and resilience in the face of adversity, the plot hole is that not every man is begging for Da On's attention
And who knows, if we're going to discuss his bedroom prowess, he must be quite the treat. I can imagine he's a master of providing a snug and welcoming experience for his male partners
I ship Seong Hyeon with plane ticket, Da On with psychotherapy and Jea Min and Su Hyeon with justice system ❤Please…
Seong Hyeon, Da On, a psychologist, and a passport, that's what I call the ultimate power couple (times two). Can you imagine the therapy sessions on a private beach?
Honestly none of them are suitable for each other!
Da On is a flower waiting to bloom, and Seong Hyeon is a gentle gardener who nurtures him, chipping away at his guarded exterior and encouraging him to open up to him and the world. Together, they're a perfect blend of strength and vulnerability. They're suitable for each other
Seong Hyeon has been dragged through the mud, with some people tossing around unflattering adjectives such as clingy, annoying, stalker-ish, creepy, or worse. What are you smoking?
Normally, you should give your love interest breathing room after baring your heart and confessing to them. But hello, Da On has been suffocated by Jae Min and Su Hyeon's emotional manipulation for years! "Normal" takes a permanent vacation when you’re dealing with the likes of Jae Min and Su Hyeon
A man Seong Hyeon cares for is caught in a cycle of toxicity, and he'd do whatever it takes to help. He's already stepped up to challenge those speaking ill of Da On in moments Da On couldn't find his voice. He's strong. And we can't deny the necessity for his intervention. Seong Hyeon's strength and devotion can empower Da On to be strong, to stand up for himself and confront toxicity head-on
Seong Hyeon would've taken "no" for an answer, if he didn't see the spark of potential between himself and Da On. Even Da On's sister has urged him not to give up on her brother, knowing that Da On's "no" or "leave me alone" means "please don't leave me"
Da On's sister: "do you like my brother? My brother has a ridiculously strong sense of pride. He's stubborn and says things without thinking, but he doesn't mean any of it. Even if he acts like an idiot, don't give up on him" (episode 6, 22:11)
Seong Hyeon isn't creepy, he's really, really … determined. He's that piece of gum stuck to your shoe you can't get rid of, and he's way more endearing than that. He's Da On's one chance to experience the healthy, supportive love that's been absent in his life
Your solution to "overused high school tropes" is … Omegaverse? Something more overused and lazier in its storytelling,…
Some omegaverse stories experiment with alpha-alpha or alpha-beta dynamics. And more often than not, one partner gets "omegafied" to fit the alpha-omega dynamic
As for "making a change," I’m not convinced slapping a new label on overused tropes is what we need
Adaptation of a manhwa with a harem genre and mature themes like this is well appreciated by viewers. I'm hoping…
Your solution to "overused high school tropes" is … Omegaverse? Something more overused and lazier in its storytelling, packed with an extra dose of pheromone-induced non-consent?
Omegaverse sorts characters into roles (alpha, beta, omega) that dictate their social hierarchies, personalities, and behaviors. In it, the concept of character development is nonexistent, as characters are pawns in a rapey, fetishistic game where their motivations are determined by preordained circumstances or factors outside of their control. There's nothing interesting about "your pheromones made me do it"
The problem isn't the high school setting or the fluff (done well, it's enjoyable). It's the relentless recycling of problematic tropes. And omegaverse doesn’t break that cycle. It exchanges one brand of cliché for another, arguably worse one
The most shameless "straight" media adaptations won’t touch omegaverse with a ten-foot pole. Their producers take one look at the "straight-with-extra-steps" genre and say, "we’ll pass." That’s a sign we shouldn’t be forcing it onto BL/gay media
plz tell me it's not going to be " straight washed"??
The adaptation has undergone some straightwashing. For now, the second gay couple has been escorted out the back door/ousted in favor of a straight one by producers to avoid scaring off the mainstream audiences intolerant of gay themes/too much gayness. In their eyes, the feelings of a homophobe are more important than our feelings (and in my eyes, they suck)
Hee Su and Seung Won seem to be "bros" in the trailer. I'm not sure how their relationship will unfold in the adaptation

I'm not seeking them out, they're just everywhere
"Rather than making other people hate something"
I'm not making others hate it, I'm sharing my beliefs and hoping they see the light ... or the dark, depending on how you look at it
"Stop responding"
And miss out on the fun of a good debate? If we only talked about the things we love, conversations would get boring
Or at least ship Seong Hyeon and Da On together to Couple’s Therapy. Two tickets are better than one

If Da On and Seong Hyeon end up together, I might be able to overlook any shortcomings in the last two episodes/ending
Since I don’t believe men can get pregnant, "omegaverse" and "mpreg" stray so far into fantasy that they lose the essence of being BL or gay to me
