Guo Rong needed to be away to do and build stuff, to work on his grief and being involved in rediscovering his meaning to live again…he came back a better ruler.
Guo Wei is such a resilience and strong character…the amount of baggage he carries and yet able to do his part as a ruler…I have tremendous admiration for this character.
Feng Dao is another level of a wise smart character that can survived for century.

I am happy for all 3 of them…the camaraderie hongchu always sought between his brothers he got outside of it. they’re all sharing the burdens of being responsible for the people. I just wish it didn’t cost them so much to get here.

the overarching theme here is very interesting….what makes a good ruler is one who shares is burdens with his ministers and is concerned with their people. An ideal happy world exists and it requires us to take action towards. it’s a good lesson for these dreary times where it’s easy to fall into nihilistic sentiments

If I could go back to history, I would love to meet Lord Feng, man survived five dynasties my god. I would pass away in one itself. Imagine how good he was to survive this haywire of situations

Title Swords into Plowshares Spoiler
it's interesting how everything is related like a butterfly effect. in ep 12 sworn brothers guo wei, wang jun and the others trusted generals force liu to seize the throne from the khitans against his own will.

after a couple of years liu died, his eldest son died ( probably by the hands of his own little brother ), the incompetent greedy second son became the emperor and killed the entire family of guo wei. ( if guo wei didn't force liu to be the emperor, liu's second son would not ascended the throne and then killed guo wei's family )

now guo wei is forced to "retaliate" and those same people like wang jun and the other generals are forcing guo wei to be the emperor.

it's a vicious circle... imo it's also pretty clear that shitty things like betrayal from close ones will happened to the guo's, we can already feel the malicious thoughts of wang jun his so called sworn brother :-)

friendship, sworn brotherhood, even real family ties doesn't mean a thing compared to absolute power or the greed for absolute power.

many people talking about Hu Jin Si is this, he is that,to remind people he is older version of Cao Cao of Han…
i don’t much care whose version he is or can't quite understand how It's related to the things hu jinsi did in the drama, but writer messed up big time in the latest arc,I'll put it on hold for now, will come back later when it finishes, a lot of cdramas have lousy ending after being great at beginning & middle so i lost Trust šŸ˜“
