Yup! I hear you. Don’t know if we’re talking about the same drama but I saw one like that and I was so bored. It was like watching my relatives and friends live out their lives, heck even slower.
I want lost love and people jumping in front of their epic love to save them thank you very much. I don’t want to see someone make dinner and chat about it slowly, I’ve got my own dinner to make and that’s enough!

I think it’s good but you need to be able to roll with it in order to enjoy this drama. I think if someone demands realism and reality this is not the drama for them. You have to suspend disbelief and just watch. Also not have any woke expectations. It’s very enjoyable but it’s a specific product that certain audiences will not appreciate.
Love Bai Lu's acting. She's so adorable and babyish as the innocent Sang Jiu but is completely different in demeanor and maturity when she goes scorched earth as demon Sang Jiu.
I've only seen her in one other series where she's a rascally con woman so I'm really enjoying her range.

It's really clever the way they introduced Wu Dai. He was very rough and brutish and they kept saying that he was most similar to Void Tyrant. It created the impression that he was bad but there was nothing inherently concrete to prove that he was evil!
