Like you I rarely watch modern dramas.

He goes from mushy to super manly heroic when shit happens later. He’s …….a lot of things later on. He’s high on love in the phase when he returns.

One of my favourite scenes was when heavenly empress and her other children visit the couple and sees YT ( who was in her pesky consort phase) poking and prodding at YQ with YQ dodging and quarrelling with her.

They all stand there and discuss how YT is good for YQ because she forces him to interact. It was such a hilarious scene with YQ having a fit in the background while YT continued harassing him.

I'm not even remotely bothered by the ending but I feel so sad that this drama has ended and we may never see them together as a couple again.

Yeah I felt bad I couldn't get on that ship because I was incredibly fond of Qing Heng! I had a soft spot for him. He was so genuine and sweet.

I liked that they always tried to spend time together and live together as much as they could in spite of all the disasters.
Both couples!

No one was sneaking around, suffering in secret, watching their love from afar.

It was strangely practical and rational for a xian xia!
