Not disagreeing with you at all. Just adding to your point. If we’re being honest Bai Jue is actually very very…
in the novel Shen yin, Yuan qi fully understood his dad when he faced the destruction of Daze Sect. He actually made the same choice. Bai Jue saw Yuan Qi’s determination and respected it. He warned YQ that would be very lonely. lol the drama script changed a lot from the novel

according to the novels, Bai Jue was about 200k years old and Yuan Qi was about 200 year old (a bit more) according to the dramas, if ALP is prequel of TLI. Yuan qi went to Dong Hua”s Sect when Shang gu had been kneeling for 500 years. Thus he was 600 year old when started in Dong Hua’s sect . he stayed there for 100 years. Thus his age was 700 years old and 2700 year old by the end of the drama
After you will complete this.. You will have no complaints towards Bai jue... Because from 44 they start to explain…
In my opinion, ALP content is better and more logic than the content of novel Shang Gu. Bai Jue and Shang Gu in the novel just had brotherhood in the God realm. He loved her for more than 100k years but never told her. He did not know that 300 year before she scacrificed Shang Gu got known his feeling via Yue Mi. Then Shang Gu started the affection toward him but did not let him know. And then the tribulation was around the corner and Tian Qi wanted to destroy the world to save her. Later she sacrificed herself. Gu Jun allowed Hou chi to marry Qing Mu after 100 years of excile. And the way Yuan Qi was conceived was weird. After the thunder strike in Qing Long platform, Qing Mu got the egg which later hatched Yuan Qi. Bai jue didn't tell Tian Qi about his plan. Tian Qi only discovered that Bo Xuan was Bai Jue after he and Shang Gu went back to God realm. Bai Jue did not try to make Shang Gu hate him since they did not have mutual love in the first life.

I don't know who wrote the first 15 eps but it was not included in the original novel. Xing Ling was not mentioned in the section for script writter. So maybe she did not write that part. Shang Gu in the novel was more than 130 thousand years old, beautiful, quite distant and mature unlike young, cheerful but "spoil" drama Shang Gu. Wu Huan was just ambition and dominant empress. She did not cultivate ghost power. No Xuan Yi in Shang Gu. They adopted Xuan Yi from Shen Yin (later adapted to The Last Immortal). And Xuan Yi was ghost God from the beginning. The was no Snow god. And Gu Jun did not know Shang Gu in god realm. And Tian Qi suffered more in the drama. Some key moments were changed too such as the way Qing Mu became Bai Jue or Qing Li used abyss flower instead of Jing Yang in the drama, Bai Jue did not treat Tian Qi as his son in the novel etc...

Yes, the novels which were adapted to ALP and TLI were written by Xing Ling but drama scripts of these two dramas were written by 2 different teams. And both were not so loyal to the original novel content
Btw who knows why the drama was named The last Immortal? still don't get it. and why was it hidden god to Start…
The Last Immortal refers to A Yin who is the the last disciple of Dong Hua. In the original work (Hidden god - Shen Yin); Yuan Qi was god but hidden as Gu Jin (a normal immortal). Some people also listed Xuan Yi (Ming Qi in the drama), Ao Ge, Xui Jan were also gods and they were not so visible. However, in my opinion, those characters were consistant, and those god were not "hidden" to people who met them. Only Yuan Qi/Gu Jin's identity was kept secret.
The Chinese name for this movie is "You Are More Beautiful Than The Stars". To me, this is very different than…
what is the original name of the novel. I saw several names such as Beijing is not as beutiful as you, you are more beautifil than starlight or meeting you in the prosperous life
In the novel, Han Ting had distinctive Beijing accent and he sometimes makes fun or joke Ji Xing's accent. I wonder how will they adjust it in the drama. Xu Kai probably doesn't speak Mandarin with Beijing accent.
I think he also used his own voice in Best choice ever. It will be released in 2024 too. Althought I don't understand Chinese, his voice is pleasure to hear (in she and her perfect husband)
Yes. The relatonship blossomed b/w HT and JX afterwards.
Oh, I don't remember the name exactly (read the novel for some time) but one person was his cousin and one is the granddaughter of the professor who they met in the US later. If I remember correctly, he brought her to that event.
I read somewhere that in the novel Yuan Qi created something like an illusion in which no one in the immortal…
no. It is not correct. It is about Feng Yin's dream. A piece of Yuan Qi's soul was in the fire phoenix jade that she always carried along. Thus, he managed to enter her dream and create the illusion in her dream. He was always by her side throughout 1000 years that she waited for his return.
I can't get over those times when Yuanqi calls Fengyin "夫人 (Fūrén)" meaning Honey / Wife. And the way he…
My feeling for that "furen" is mix of respect and teasing her at the same time. Furan is very polite way to address wife. It also means lady. madam or wife of VIP
The majority of people who had something bad to say about this drama are ironically ALP fans. Lol After I'm done…
Personally, I avoided linking TLI with ALP. My problem is I read the novel Shen Yin already and find it good. And the adaptation (meaning the plot) was not good enough to deliver the story. Sometimes I was frustrated at the story change. Even when I put the novel story aside, I still find a lot of weak spots in the drama plot. The most important factors for me are plot-line, actor performance. I don't mind so much about CGI or visual effect or fighting scenes which are only added value for me. Sometimes, I question myself that I should not read novel first, so I can just enjoy the drama as it is and reading the novel later if the drama is good enough
After watching eps 39, I understand that the drama title "The Last Immotal" refers to A Yin who was the last disciple of Dong Hua. The title of original novel is "Shen Yin", or "Hidden God" in English. The original title is likely to refer to Yuan Qi. His identity as a true god was kept secretly from publics and he only became God after suffering unbearable loss of Daze Sect. Throughout the story he had done many acts without letting others know. This can explain why the drama spent a lot of screen time on A Yin/Feng Yin and shift the balance to FL

I don't think that "bad" is proper word. Complained is more suitable. And I can explain you why many ALP fan complained or have issues with TLI: 1. if someone is ALP fan, they enjoyed ALP and had set the bar high for its sequel. TLI failed that expectation in several aspects. This differs from viewers who haven't watched ALP and don't have a reference to compare. 2. Many of ALP viewers read novels relating the originalstories including the original story Shen Yin which is adapted to TLI. As a novel reader, it is quite difficult for me to watch TLI since there are a lot of modification on the story structure and content on screen. Unfortunately, the modification made the plot weaker, and less logical. For example, Feng Yuan is powerful and she was the one who raised Yuan Qi when he was small. How comes that Mrs Hong who is a kind of ambassador from God Realm dared to interfere Yuan Qi's life and made decision on behalf of him. There was no Mrs Hong in the book. I read both novels, Shen Yin in my opinion is easier to read and enjoy. The content is interesting enough to make a good drama. The trend that TLI chose is to focus on Feng Yin/A Yin and about 75% episodes is FL centric. The novel content is much more balance , little more on Yuan Qi role and character. ALP is a good drama, but it also has it own flaw. Some people could not stand the unconventional xianxia appearance of both ML and FL in the beginning of the drama, then if the story was not good enough for them, it is easy to drop. ALP required patient watching because the first 16 eps were just to set the foundation for the later roller and coaster story. It shows how Shang Gu became mature, up to expectation of Chief God despite her youth; and why Bai Jue loved her, and choose that way to save her and also protect the three realms. Comparing with it original story Shang Gu, there were also a lot of modification on the drama version which luckily impoved the storyline. I hope you can engage with its story and characters.
Agreed. wasn't the best scripting out there ( blame on the dumb writers) But it was basically an enjoyable watch…
Yes Ming Qi is Xuan Yi in APL. Actually, APL adapted Xuan Yi from Shen Yin to it. They also changed him from ghost true god to true ghost of chaos power (preceesor of Shangu). In Shen Yin, Xuan Yi was just younger than Zhi Yang and he was born as ghost from the beginning. He took care of ghost, dead creatures. Thus, only him could resurrect Yuan Qi. Zhi Yang persuaded him to step out of ghost realm
Agree on the FY point especially. Actually “the last immortal” is Yuan qi LOL hes the last true immortal bloodline.
True gods like Yuan Qi's parents were supposed to live as long as the Earth and Heaven. So would he. And Yuan Qi had chaos power which is mixed of demonic and immortal power. Thus he is even more distant from immortal. The last immortal might referred to Gu Jin. The whole members of Daze Sect were returned, resurrected except Gu Jin. In the novel, the moment when the truth was revealed, Feng Yin rushed to Daze Mountain where Yuan Qi's maze over it had been unsealed (since he had dispersed). She saw the life returning to all the creatures, the images of her sect-mates (in sleeping mode). In side the hall, she saw her senior sectmates sitting. Gu Jin image was there, the only one that there was no signal of life. and when she touched him, he disappeared in to sparkling dust.
