I just watched until eps 37. Hua Shuo in the novel at the end realized her father was so evil and he helped Qing Lin kill Lan Feng. He even asked her to sacrifice herself for him, and she only realized that many of peacock soldiers had turned into ghost. Feng Yin was about to burn herself, special technique to upgrade her power to god to kill all the evils but then she would die and disappear which had used by Jing Jian in ALP. At that moment, Hua Shuo changed her mind, recalling Lan Feng's love for her. She used herself to sacrifice to the demon flag which would suck all the evils inside including her father. her soul also was sucked in. She just asked Feng Yuan for pardon of peacock clan and protection for peacock members who were innocent. She told Feng Yin that she was jealous with her the whole life but one thing that she was proud that there was a man who regarded her the first choice, treasured her. (Feng Yin still had hatred on Yuan Qi by that time)

1. XL has 9 lives doesn't mean his each life is less value than XY or anyone life. If he had only life, he would either live or die with her because their lives were connected. If he was strong enough then he could kept XY to survise without using the spell to exchange one of his life for her. If not, both of them died in chapter22.
2. I don't mean Xiao Liu needed his help in Chuanzi's wedding but why did he hide. Because he was afraid of that she would recognised him. He often chose the convenient way.
3. Why could not he carry both of them out? He had power. He came to the site when the fire did not started yet. And Jing had special vision. He could get out of the maze more easily than others. Don't tell me that she was not so heavy that he could not carry her.
He had time to get out without injury. CX's guards came later and they could spent half hour there searching for both of them.

The book was written under XY's view. and she is prone to tell lies or bullshit. She told CX, XL was not her friend but she told FFB, that he looked like her friend. Did she give Jing any gift? She gave Jing a sachel of medicine herb because she hated the smell on him when his identity was discovered. No more.
She made poison with all of her thought and mood as gift for XL for decades. Chapter 31 confirmed poison as gift. And read chapter 28, what is the meaning of gift for XY.
And long after XL rejected her, she made another sachel for Jing (then CX as well) while practicing needle work.
And read chapter 37 to see what kind of bug and what is the condition to plant the bug successfully.

Where was YSQ when Xiao Liu needed him to deal with Xuan and A Nian? If I remember correctly he disappeared. During Chuanzi's wedding, he also hid when A Nian showed up. In most of XY's critical moments of death and life, where was Jing? He surrendered and want to die with her while Cang Xuan & Xiang Liu tried their best to rescue her. He was either "sleeping" or disappeared in the other 2 assasinations. Anyway, this is based on the novel. We don't know how the drama would turn out

The drama plot was very weak and illogical. In the novel Feng Yuan (Feng Ran) had used most of her power (she was god, not demi god) to seal Zi Yue after the war between Immortal and Demon (where A Yin was killed). Qing Lin still survise and the devils in ghost realms almost broke out the seal. That is the reason why she and Yuan Qi stayed away from public since both of them lost most of their power and they didn't want the immortal villain awared of that. At the last battle: Feng Ran and Feng Yin, Hong Yi fought agaist Hua Mu and Hua Shuo in the heavenly palace during the selection competition for the Emperor/Emperess position. Yuan Qi with 10 thousand immortal soldiers came to Zi Yue to face with the ghost devils if they broke out the seal. Yuan Qi and Lin Mu killed Qing Lin. But the seal was so weak. Yuan Qi had to use his soul and the power of his sword to seal the ghost realm.

I would say first 12 eps are close to the novel. eps13-19 are "new" fiction. eps 20 - end are very loosely adapted from the novel. If you watched ALP, you will know that Yuan Qi was resemble to his father's characteristics. Thus, he didn't marry Feng Yin when he was 'technically" dead as in the drama. A Yin did not suffer as much as in the drama. YQ suffered more burden in the novel. However, since FY only knew everything when YQ completely disappeared, FY was more heartbroken. I still prefered the novel since it is more concise and logical

ALP adapted Xuan Yi from Shen Yin but they changed his character and story to creat the first 15eps to tell Shangu’s maturity process. There is not Xuan Yi in the novel Shang Gu in which Shang Gu was senior Chief God in the God realm. However in ALP, Shang Gu was junior god with very little skill and experience

Since they wanted to target young viewer, making the drama cute. I wonder why didn't they include the last epilogue of the novel. 5 minutes extra, Yuan Qi woke up FY to ask her about their daughter, expressing his preference to his wife over his daugter who is very mischievous. :)). Then they rush out to search for their daughter (she is believed to chase an young immortal boy at that time). it would make the drama different from typical xianxia drama. For his parents,all that Shang Gu wanted is hearing Bai Jue said "Shang Gu, I am Bai Jue". Nothing is more powerful and meaningful than that

In my opion, the novel is way better. The drama degraded God's role and their dignity a lot

Chaos power is the strongest and it works on any people (both demon and immortal). Chaos power is mixture of demonic and immortal power. A Yin had very low power base (actually lowest level of immortal). so, it is very illogical if the flute didn't work on her

not so much in the novel. Similar (or less) to how was shown in the drama. these 4 went out several times. When A Yin and Gu Jin paired with each other then YS and HY had to hang out together. YS came to demon realm visiting HY often during 1000 years. HY just started to realize his feeling for YS near the end of the novel. Then in the other novel, Xing Ling just mentioned HY and YS moved to the god realm together (meaning they had married) after Yuan Qi's death about 500 years

file your questions to script writer. They wanted to make A Yin more misery, then highlight her later character. In general, they wanted to make a female lead centric drama which is different from the original story. And they wanted to extend the story to fill screen time of 40 eps. Thus they had to create more and more troubles to the lead characters. Yuan Qi was not that useless and clueless. Fang Yuan was not as absent (She was God, not de-mi god like in the drama). And Hong Chou was a big failure since the gods all value equality and she showed her bias, discrimination from the beginning.

The drama has a lot of holes and bugs

there is not such flute in the novel. there is no mrs Hong Chou and no serial events. where those 4 went to the heavenly palace and worked there. his senior sectmates did not agreed on his choice because they knew she would live very shortly and they did not want him to suffer the same heartbreaking as Xian Zhu. novel story focuses on the adventures to retrieve pieces of FY’s soul and fighting against ghost power. Yuanqi and A Yin were more balanced. the drama trend is FL centric. they made her suffer more thus degrading other characters especially Yuan Qi.

The lines in the song that you mentioned are in another song" Thought of life. In general, I also like all the OST songs of ALP. Played them everyday this summer (I watched the ALP this year)
