I agree with you. The content happened in Heavenly Palace was new creation, Qing Lin hanging around in Hong Ruo's body is also different from the original text. In the novel, Gu Jin and A Yin focused on the journey to collect the pieces of Feng Yin's spiritual consciousness for the 1st half of the novel. No non-sense, side story like in the drama. Did that change the storyline to make it sufficient for 40 eps?
