I might be desensitized after seeing too many terrible Thai BLs, but I didn't think this one was that bad. I liked both leads and it was nice having so many LGBTQ people in the cast. Obviously the writing was almost non-existent and they focused way too much on the extras in the first 7 episodes. But Nut was very likeable. It would have been nice if the series has a competent writer and director, but episodes 8-11 weren't bad.
P.S. episode 12 undid most of the goodwill the show built up. Nut deserved so much better!
That one and "For Him" are just a big messy ball of "WTF IS GOING ON ???"
Those 2 are already my picks for worst series of 2024. For Him is the absolute worst because of how the cast was treated. But the "writing" for Time is among the worst I've ever seen.
I'm glad I finished it. The last episode was as bad as all the others. Idk who most of the people on screen were, but I think it's adorable that they tried to set up a season 2. If any person agrees to act in a season 2 or work as a crew member, they only have themselves to blame for the next train wreck from this amateur company.
I was excited for 2 seconds when I saw Jericho, Jake, Tim and Philip. Then I saw Oxin and wanted to throw my laptop!!!!!! If Xion doesn't hire an actual writer this time I won't be surprised, but I will be pissed that he continues to waste good actors on his terrible productions!
Still loving the show. Every time they said "forever" it felt like the writer was winking at the audience. We knew something was coming, but all of the greeting card level romance was still adorable. Because nothing in the show feels like it exists in the real world, I'm fully willing to go along for the ride and not ask too many questions. Also, I wish some Taiwanese actors could teach BL actors in other countries how to kiss. I usually don't care about kissing either way, but Taiwanese series consistently have epic kisses.
P.S. I'm aware that Taiwan is able to more freely express gay love than many other countries, which is a big reason why the kisses in many countries aren't on par with the kisses in Taiwan. But a girl can dream of a day when all BL kisses are as good as most Taiwanese BL kisses!
I fully get why many people are saying it's slow/boring. I've thought both things about the series, but I also really enjoy it. The pace of Ji and Achi's rekindling relationship makes sense to me. And Achi's life as an actor seems much more realistic/believable than what we usually see in Thai BLs about actors. Also, the acting from Fluke and Junior is LIGHTYEARS better than what we've been seeing from a lot of Thai BLs over the last year+.
It's great that we're in an era of BLs where every BL isn't made for every BL fan. Some shows work for one segment of BL fans and other shows work for a different segment of the audience. I love character driven stories. Some people don't and that's fine. But if you do want to watch an adult slow burn that's not focused on NC scenes, you might enjoy this series too.
I'm watching this only for the main leads. Without them I would have dropped this. However, they are just eye…
I get it. I think Biu and Park are more attractive than Foam and Chris, but their looks are pretty much the only decent thing about the show. The plot is MIA.
Continuing my quest to watch all the bad series I can and this was next on my list. I saw all of the En of Love mini series and LM, but I don't remember much from any of them besides YinWar. This isn't the worst BL I've seen, but it is the one that made me fall asleep the most.
I have nothing good to say about it. When a show centers everything around a shallow relationship of 2 people with no character traits besides "rich jealous seme" and "docile jealous uke", there's no way it can be good. 99% of the dialogue from all of the characters was about the relationship and none of it felt believable.
Boom needs a lot of acting classes if he plans to continue acting. We were constantly told that he is good looking, I don't see it. Even if he is, there's more to acting than good looks. But like always, the issue is the script and the directing. As long as Thailand keeps subsidizing these crappy series, crappy companies will keep hiring any adult with the mind of a clueless13-year-old who knows nothing about relationships to write these series. Consistently finding people with a track record of SHIT to direct, won't help things get better. Most middle schoolers are more mature than these characters. This is truly of waste of everyone's time.
I made it 5 minutes and knew this would be better to binge. I don't have the energy for another show with rookie actors and a writer/director who have consistently made bad series. And I'm not sure who decided that hosts should be the theme for the year, but host clubs just don't interest me at all.
In my quest to watch all of the worst Thai BLs, I FINALLY found the worst series of all time!!! I want to praise every single viewer who helped give this abomination the rating it deserves. Usually bad shows with known ships are able to get at least 7 because fans make excuses for their favs. I'm soooooooo glad people didn't give this a pass 👏👏👏
I have no idea if Frank and Lee's characters were brothers. But what I do know is that those 2 and all the other actors should have said no to this project. I know most actors are desperate for work, but a bit of foresight would have shown anyone who read one page of the script or saw the props, hair and costumes that this show would bomb.
The real fault is on the actors' managers, the company who produced this and the company that aired it. But writer, Chawthip Natcharern and director, Sappakosol Supsavati are the ones who made this unwatchable. Those two should never be allowed near a BL again.
No test audience or focus group in the world would enjoy 5 minutes of this sh*t!!! No one should EVER give them money to work on another show again. Shame on them for damaging all of the actors' careers with this trash, while also slapping BL fans in the face and most importantly turning disabled people into a joke! Bad writers and directors are the biggest problem in Thai BL!
Episode 9 was the best because it didn't focus on all the random extras and older ladies and there was some action.…
But anyway the kidnapping, fight, guns and fight part 2 were laughably absurd. Where was the adult that was supposed to be taking care of that little girl? Why was there no security watching the door of the bad guys building? Why did they fight instead of using any weapons? Who is the sniper? Why was it so easy to take back the usb? Why did the mom only take the niece? Why was the get away car so far from the door? Why didn't they race to the hospital?
So many questions and there's only one episode left. I feel like it's just getting entertaining and now it's pretty much over. Smh.
Episode 9 was the best because it didn't focus on all the random extras and older ladies and there was some action. I think the show would have been watchable if Biu and Park were the main characters. I'm still not sure which is which, but the mom of one of them and the lesbian sister would be interesting side characters. Add them plus the host club and the mob family business and you could have a fun and focused plot.
Too bad bored Chris and Foam who does nothing to prevent his lover from the past from dying are the leads. The show would have been fine without them and the older manager lady.
Did any of the actors speak out about not being paid?
😮 I'm so tired of this happening. Of all the possible trends in BL, I never expected not paying the actors to be one of them. At this point I don't even care if we never see episode 10. I just want everyone to be paid for their hard work.
I REALLY loved the first half of the series. I wish I liked the second half as much as the first. Overall, this show was fine and I appreciate that Idol Factory took a chance with something completely new to BL. I respect the ambition of the production team for trying to tell multi-genre story that also incorporated mythology. But for me, the concept was better than the execution. I've seen too many great cop and crime themed series not to feel let down by this one. And the mythological aspects weren't fleshed out enough for them to feel plausibly connected to the world of the story. But maybe the bad CGI is the real issue.
Many episodes were way too long, some actors did a great job, while others were given little to do, or were clearly amateurs who weren't given strong direction. The one note villains decreased my engagement as the story progressed. Great stories need great villains. I also ended up caring more about Yai, Khem and Thongthai than I did about Phaya and Tharn. Unfortunately for me, those 3 were given little to do and barely any character progression.
I also think the show did a fantastic job generating interest in the series using social media. With BL views continuing to decrease when compared to a few years ago, it's good that some shows are bringing in newer audiences. But if you've only seen a small amount of series, your opinion on what you just saw will have a different frame of reference than someone who's been watching BL for a long time. IMO neither perspective is better than the other or "right". But when some people decide that only one perspective can be shared and discussed, it really diminishes the series.
Art is subjective. There is no series that every person agrees is great. And if you can't accept that, instead of trying to silence people who disagree with your perspective, maybe you could try to better understand other perspectives, broaden your knowledge of the genre or experience more content. Driving away viewers who disagree with you doesn't help the actors or companies. Without viewers, BL can't exist.
If this gets a season 2, I don't think watch it. Not because of some toxic "fans", but I don't trust the writers to tell a compelling story in a way that isn't weighed down with too much filler and too much focus on side stories that don't add much to the plot. But mostly because I can't recall the last time I saw a Thai BL sequel that was as good as the first season.
That's okay, I always appreciate your comments. Bring 'em on! (I'm putting mine in the review section.)
Aww thank you! I just don't feel like arguing about a tv show I'm not that invested in with people who disagree with my opinion, so I'm just moving on from the series. Commenting here is fun until it turns into personal attacks.
Good idea! Leaving nuanced comments in the review section might be the smart move for shows with deeply entrenched fandoms.

Time is definitely the worst Thai BL of the year!

I'll check back towards the end of the series.
