Ye Hong Yue got luckier this time raped by handsome Long Qing instead of that butt ugly old Priest with the golden mask. Long Qing actor just goofing around in this drama acting all aloof. I love it!
Looks like C-ent just ruined another good IP. First it was Croton fk*ed up Mirror Twin Cities. Now this Ranma 1/2 clone (the anime is definitely a Ranma 1/2 clone with homeless pigtail boy and his bum of a dad falling heads over heels for shorty foxy aka Akane). These idiots in C-ent dont get it. Only Tencent can make justice to these series and give China ent international recognition/adoration. They have the resources and talents. To let precious IPs like these slip into the hands of third rate helmswomen and production company, just think about the kind of mesage and impression you clueless idiots want to give about China to the world!

BTW, did any see how this drama tries to imitate tone of the Untamed. They got Untamed actress starring as lover of Su Mengzhen. ML played the flute while other FL lead played the zither at the dock... Instruments from Untamed.
Ending and opening credits imitate tone of Untamed. Since Tencent no longer allowed to make gay male-male BL shows in China, they'll next try to make vain imitations like this drama!

Heroes got 6.8/10 on Douban. We all know Dream of Splendor rating been cooked becoz I simply don't like that show so how could it get such high ratings?
Anyways, I avoided this drama because... ML is known to be a B-grade actor. BUT wow, Tencent worked their magic in this series. Any B-grade actors/actress can be made to work, but only when it's Tencent pouring all the talent into the drama. I only watched 7 episodes so far mind you.
The thing I like most about this series, none of the females disappoint (they're all pretty to look at).

Bah. I cant stand this kind of drama where every girl is prettier than the FL. Jelly Lin smoking hot. The 40 year-old maid, what a beauty must have smoked LYF in a beauty contest when she was in her age. LYF on the other hand... Gag vomit vomit.

Thinking about it some more, the ending seems about right for a Tencent production. Tencent has a knack of abusing their main characters: Fan Xian received a sword thru the abdomnen in Joy of Life. ML lost everything his home, his family, his sidekick, his career in Autumn Ballad. ML got gray hair only 10 years to live seems about right for the way Tencent typically treats their protagonist, which is to abuse them to illicit some kind of sympathy emotion from the drama viewer!

In Word of Honor, ML sacrficed his life got gray hair, but still ended up as an IMMORTAL together with the other ML. The orphaned kid also grows up and lives.
In Who Rules the World, ML sacrficed his life got gray hair AND only 10 years left to live. The orphaned kid grows up but dies in battle.
Watched up to Ep 36. At first I didn't like this because it felt like an idol drama from cheesy dialogues that only superpopular idols like Yang Yang can deliver to plot to sceneries to CGI. After I survived the first few episodes I was hooked.
PROS:
1. FL kicks arse. Her moves are supercool plus the CGI white cloth effects.
2. When Tencent saw how popular Word of Honor became, they quickly rushed to create a clone. This drama is the Tencent clone of Word of Honor. Yu Wu Yuan, he's the Scorpion King in Word of Honor. The orphaned kid, same theme as Word of Honor. The ML that fights with a fan, same as Word of Honor. The fake treasure that caused various factions to fight each other to the death to obtain, same as Word of Honor. The only thing they changed it's no longer a gay show with male-male love but a heterosexual with male-female love.
3. This drama is also a Condor Heroes Return clone plus Nirvana in Fire clone. BUT without the rape scene in Condor Heroes. FL lead is Xiao Long Nv that fights with a long piece of cloth. I like this drama better than Condor Heroes Return because the FL doesn't get raped. That makes Jin Yong a very bad writer... I never liked any of his works other than Condor Heroes Return, but without the trauma like witnessing FL get raped!
4. Old Master Taiyin. I always enjoy his appearance in any drama. First time I saw him was as Head of Wudang Sect (Heaven Sword Dragon Sabre recent version). Then saw him in Wudang First Sword also as an Elder of Wudang. And now his third appearance as old Master Taiyin.
CONS:
1. Yang Yang doesn't seem to portray a Martial Arts expert very well. His moves are clumsy almost like never took training in real life.
2. Too much Nirvana in Fire type Imperial court politics. Bad Queen that tries to get her son become the Heir is so cliche. Brothers trying to kill each other for the throne is so cliche. Scene where son tries to usurp the throne is so cliche. I seen all of this in Nirvana in Fire before and no like it!
It's only 1 company that does the streaming. If they release in 1440p or 2160p, they don't have the bandwidth to stream to everyone. Maybe in future, Tencent can charge VIP membership for those who want to watch above 1080p...
Guys, don't forget which company literally made billions off online mobiles games. That company is Tencent. They got in house CGI talent backed by loads of money behind all their productions. Don't freak out at horses that seem real because they're not. Tencent been in the CGI business forever. They know a thing or two about making horses look real!!

It not a real horse. Tencent is China's biggest entertainment company. Their CGI is just as believable as Hollywood production. You want to puke at that horror show because Tencent CGI is just too good and believable. If you seen Sword Snow Stride, you know that Tencent doesn't half arse their SFX. These guys are seriously wanting China to match or exceed Hollywood CGI and effects!

MY spider-man senses going super crazy. Getting strong vibes this drama one of those superficial ones belong to category idol drama. All style no substance. Sure I will watch it to the end simply because I can see Tencent blew so much money making it. But I won't necessarily like it or hold a favorable view of it!
