Title The One
The One... more like The ZERO. Come to think of it, I never enjoyed Leo Wu's works very much. Fights Break Sphere was shiet, complete departure from the original storyline (XunEr is a scumbag that wanted to destroy Xiao Yan not like the lovable XunEr of the dongua). Love like the Galaxy, I got tired of the melodrama 3/4th into the series. I did plan on dropping that but said to myself, I already invested my time into 3/4th of the series, might as well finish the last 1/4th.

Now, I don't even look at The ZERO. Li Wanda == suck!

(BTW, whoever knew a simple one-liner "hmph, pian ren!" could make a (C-grade) kid actor so rich and coveted by the c-ent industry when he grew up...)

The ROAD to HELL is LITTERED with GOOD INTENTIONS!I just wanna say Tang Lici got what he deserved, a just ending…
Actually, I stand corrected:

Mr. PuZhu = a goody goody two shoes

Tang Lici = an even BIGGER goody goody two shoes

PuZhu's good intention towards his lover caused the deaths and suffering of countless ppl,

BUT Tang Lici's good intentions towards Fang Zhou had ultimately caused hundred times more casualties!

The ROAD to HELL is LITTERED with GOOD INTENTIONS!

I just wanna say Tang Lici got what he deserved, a just ending in the end. If Tang Lici had just let Fang Zhou die instead of attempting to suck out all the evil energies out of Fang Zhou into his own self-healing body, he wouldn't have created an evil Liu Yang and NONE of what happened afterwards would have happened. Hell, with the other 2 "brothers" still around, A Shui would have found her way to meet Tang Lici at her brother's residence, and he would have married her with the other 2 "brothers" as witness to their marriage.

Tang Lici tried to save Fang Zhou out of his GOOD INTENTIONS, but actually OPENED a ROAD to HELL that caused all subsequent killings in the drama from EP1 onwards fall unto unsuspecting ppl like a dominoes effect!

(Anyways, enough of my ramblings, drama started out OK but I got tired of seeing characters like PuZhu play an imbecilic goody goody two shoes. I ultimately rank this drama the worst out of all I have watched this year...)

I've been procrastinating finishing the last 7 eps for months now which means I love this drama lol
Actually I only watched this drama d/t the popularity of the donghua. I actually hate them for casting Yang Yang. If it were another work I would have easily turned down the drama based on the casting of the ML alone. Yang Yang is too "pretty" for this role. Donghua Han Li was more crude and "ugly" looking (just an average looking person that got acquainted to a bunch of beauties on his journey) not this refined pretty boy like Yang Yang.

Complicated my rear end. This drama borders on the BL genre which is blacklisted in China. I always hated this…
Neither does yours. If you got nothing constructive to say, don't. At least I made some criticisms of the drama. BUT you, what has your reply added to the discussion? None! Zilch!

BTW, welcome to my permanent ignore list buddy (I actually blocked loser posters like these instead of put them on mental ignore).

BL dramas are retarded. I went into WoF not knowing jack about it. I never gonna watch another China drama which such strong male bonds. (Everyone's only doing BL to rope in the gullible female viewers to drive the drama's popularity to make some money. They know even though women mostly watch romance dramas, pure bisexual romance dramas won't ever be as popular to the ladies as the BLs. As a male viewer, I find the BL drama rather disgusting). Liu Yan looks retarded playing that string instrument meant mostly for women.

Whispers Of Fate is on another level of complicated. The drama will start off seemingly really simple, looking…
Complicated my rear end. This drama borders on the BL genre which is blacklisted in China. I always hated this kind of gay male love/affection genre. Plus the last 5 episodes were a disaster in both plot and pacing (ie. Mr PuZhu made the retarded decision to allow his lover to kill the heads/important members of his own faction).

I just have a question, if WoF is such a huge hit, then why it only shows 60K votes on Douban while something…
LYX hater my arse. This is the first drama I've seen of him. I don't care who or what a LYX is, he's just some random actor I stumble across. If he gets cast in the next random drama I watch, so be it... Not like I specifically go out to like or hate his dramas!

Plus most of you comments don't make sense. If WoF didn't pay for protection fees on Douban, that explains the low score but NOT the number of votes, which means WoF is only ever popular in the mind of (crazed) viewers on MDL not in the actual real life whose numbers (number of people even bothered to rate WoF at all on Douban) speak for themselves.

BTW, plenty of ppl in this thread make it on my ignore list (I actually blocked these users not make a mental note to ignore them like they said). I simply don't have the time to read responses from losers like these...

I just have a question, if WoF is such a huge hit, then why it only shows 60K votes on Douban while something like The Untamed has 1.8million votes?

https://movie.douban.com/subject/27195020/

For consideration Three Body S1 (drama by Tencent) is considered your typical success story. Even that drama has a least 500K votes:

Are we as viewers to believe WoF is super-popular for a mere 60K votes?

The rating on douban has gone down to 8.0 https://movie.douban.com/subject/36318037/It's disappointing but as…
It's not just the score but the number of votes (S3 will be lucky to break 120K votes ultimately) while S1 had like close to 400K votes. It means S3 is only less than 1/3 as well received as S1.

I suspect this franchise is nearing its end run. There will be at most a Season 5 before:

1. Ying Tao actress approaches 40. Women actresses tend not to look beautiful anymore past their prime of 33.
2. The number of votes continue to dwindle down to 5-15% of the S1. No sane investor will want to fork money for a franchise that continues to see significant reductions in votes count.

Why would S2 have or feel the need to recast Nangong Wan? I've watched up to EP124 of the donghua. From 64 to 124 is almost the length of the amount of episodes they adapted for S1. Nangong Wan never re-appeared once in EP64-124.

Unless they want to take advantage of the new rule where a drama can have over 40 episodes again.

Imo, S3 haven't lost its charm compared to S2. Interesting scenery and landscapes from the previous season are…
Ep1 of S3 was easily the best first episode of all the previous seasons. I was hooked right away by the clever plot of transporting a hidden map (S2 made it seem like they were transporting nothing peaches but turned out ain't so). The very first line spoken was also outright too funny (someone wanted Xi Jun to take the blame for taking a break).

There is no ageless makeup. It's called a CGI beauty filter. Apparently producers of TV dramas think you CANNOT stand a person's real appearance for 40 episodes/40 hrs long. So every drama that gets produced is first passed thru a beauty filter that makes people appear younger and more beautiful than they actually are.

Movies on the other hand don't mind showing ppl's real faces complete with wrinkles and blemishes. People tend to look older/closer to their real appearance in movies becoz it's only 2hrs long so the producer don't care to put it thru a CGI beauty filter at all.

I'm curious about Miss Mo. Since she is mortal and couldnt be with Han Li, will she married later or reincarnated…
I see this a lot. Too many ppl don't know most C-ent companies have an official presence on YouTube. They have their own official channel on YT, and most of the time the contents are FREE to watch.

Just go to BiliBili's official YT channel if you want to watch the donghua (I've indexed the link to EP64 below for you where the story from S1 Immortal Ascension continues):

Just finished and the ending kinda what I was expecting based on reading people's spoilers BUT SADDER and it makes…
"So that your giving (of your life to save others) may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you." (Matthew 6:4)

Would you rather TLC gave his life for others and have his actions imprinted into their memories for eternity? This kind of giving is selfish only serves to elevate the ego of the giver.

The most beautiful kind of giving is where the receiver (those who died and then brought back to life) don't even know the identity of their benefactor (TLC). This is the most supreme form of giving.

Imagine two scenarios: (A) You approach a beggar on the street and personally hand him a $20 bill complete with a gleeful smile. Or (B) the beggar on the street looks around and suddenly finds a $20 bill next to him. He looks around for clues to his benefactor, but there are too many people around, he cannot discern who just helped him buy his next meal. Which scenario touched your heart the most?

Just a word of caution, I wouldn't put too much hope into S2, otherwise disappointment could seep in.Take a look…
So, if we compare S1 of Immortal Ascension to S1 of Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty:

https://movie.douban.com/subject/35861087/

8/10 (397K ratings) <- Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty S1
7.5/10 (125K ratings) <- Immortal Ascension S1

even Strange Tales (which was 3X as popular as Immortal Ascension) suffered a crushing defeat in viewership by the time S3 aired, we can expect worse performance for Immortal Ascension in the later seasons as well...

TWO POINTS WHICH MAY JUSTIFY THE DRAMA'S LOW SCORES (MDL and Douban):1. Water Dragon's Roar? Where exactly is…
BTW, I went into the drama with low expectations and this is easily my #1 Drama of the Year of 2025 with Immortal Ascension taking #2 spot.

BUT yeah, I can feel how some viewers may feel "cheated" by the drama's title and marketing hype...

TWO POINTS WHICH MAY JUSTIFY THE DRAMA'S LOW SCORES (MDL and Douban):

1. Water Dragon's Roar? Where exactly is the water dragon and when did it "roar"? I'm on EP27 and not once did I witness some "Water Dragon". That's misleading advertisement!

2. Drama was being hyped as a Wuxia, but watches like Xianxia. What kind of Wuxia features making magical formations (casting spells) and celestial beings? I thought Wuxia only deals with kungfu fighting mortals and no magic besides some qigong moves? Again false advertising.
