In short, ling miaomiao, a university girl, read a novel one day and thoroughly criticised a character from the book because she didn't like it at all. Then the novel authority forcefully transmigrated her in the novel world in the body of the same character(ling yu) she'd criticised. In the novel there's a beautiful couple who are the demon hunters who roam around places to do their job. And the ml of this drama is the brother(not real) of the main character of the book Mu yao. He kinda liked her in the beginning and was jealous of Fuyi because she liked fuyi but not him. Now our Miao miao have to follow the novel system rules to win the heart of black lotus(Mu sheng) to get out of the book world.
The kisses were hot & sweet, felt realistic. Even if there weren't any kissing scenes, I'd still enjoy the drama because the acting of the leads so on point. They've nicely portrait how two introverts in a relationship get offended because of miscommunication, overthinking and jealousy.

I'm glad this drama is doing so well, of course there're some plot holes, but it's a compact story. Each and every actor has contributed their 100 %. It's actually underrated in my opinion

I'm not a big fan of Esther because i stan so many people, but if she were my idol and I'd waited for her drama for a year, and finally when it's airing i found out that the director and the production house is mistreating her, I'd be disappointed too. Where was the fault: 1. iqiyi didn't let anyone know the airing date. This drama was rumoured to air on nov-dec, but it came out suddenly as a damage control from the failure of their previous project, and that too without any promotion. So obviously the leads fans were disappointed. 2. I don't think the screen time matters for the leads, but the lovestory is too simple to make people curious about them. There's nothing to mention, just the ml fell in love suddenly after just two meeting and the fl is starting to have feelings for him. Bruh i won't ever start a drama if this is the main plot 😏 3. Deleting the main leads' vital moments. I heard Esther spent 36 hours on the fight scene with JF, which is edited to just 2-3 mins. The ML has an incredible memory, but the scene where it'll be discussed/revealed was chopped, only his idiotic moments are highlighted. And the actor had to apologize for that which is a shame. 4. The couple promotion: Currently both the leads are busy with their new projects. As their September schedules were declared, they can't give this drama the time it's needed. Whose fault is this? It's the production house who did them dirty. As the 2nd 3rd couple are free now, they're doing most of the promotions and showing their support fully, which is good. I appreciate it. But still c fans aren't fully satisfied with this alternative plan.
Lastly, enjoy the drama as you're doing now. Share your experience, hype your favorite character/s and moments in the comments, and please don't be harsh on the super fans of the leads. I agree with the last part of your comment. YWS is going to be a milestone in her career. She said it before YWS is totally opposite of her personality, she's more like GZS in real life, cheerful and a bit dramatic. So doing this kind of serious role is quite challenging.
