A good 90% of the men in this drama are green forests. Loved it. And the emperor in this is my 3rd favorite c-drama emperor. In case you are wondering, 1st fave is the emperor in love like the galaxy and the second is the emperor in joy of life.
It would take me an average of 1 week to complete a Cdrama of 40 episodes, because of work and life, and maybe even less for a drama I really loved (because I binged fangs of fortune in 1 weekend) Point is that I have been on this one drama since it ended almost a month ago and I am bored out of my mind. I am currently on episode 28 and it is draggy as hellly. If you have read any of my comments, you would know I don't read any comments or reviews about the show just so I can have my own feel and not influenced by any thing I read. But I read about this one and I was like "well, I live Wang Ziqi and Lu Yuxiao because she is so cute and loved her I perfect match and mjty. This on was a mess, I mean it started really good and had potentials to be really good but 28 episodes later, she still cant remember anything and they simply recycled plots from 17 to 28 which is where I am at now. The second couple was my favorite, too bad I didn't get to see much of them. All of that said, this is my opinion and I don't mean to insult people who worked so hard on this project. But I have wasted a lot of time on this one and it is time for something else, maybe when I am bored in the future, I might comeback but for now, DROPPED.
One more thing. Honestly, I wasn’t really sold on the whole “big misunderstanding” in the drama. I get that he felt hurt or betrayed after finding out she was a goddess, maybe he thought she didn’t trust him enough to tell him the truth. But was that revelation really enough to justify how he reacted? Especially going as far as unaliving himself? That felt extreme, in my opinion.
She never brought him harm, and from the beginning, she made it clear that she’d stay with him until the end of his life. Her intentions were pure. The whole thing with the hand subplot, I get that it was important, but it’s not like he was going to need it after he is old and dead. And it wasn’t even something she could have easily explained without sounding completely unbelievable.
It just felt like an overreaction, especially for a character who supposedly loved and trusted her. I expected more emotional maturity from him, or at least a deeper resolution. The conflict felt forced just to create drama, and that didn’t sit well with me.
drama was good but they should have shown bond between weapon spirits and they killed demon god very easily for…
Totally agree with this too. They built up the female weapon spirit weapon and how 2 of them were competing for her and we ended up with what, 2 sentences from her? But then again, its possible they cut off their parts or something.
Please! Don't crucify me. I think I have watched a lot of K-traumas and C- traumas that I have become a bit twisted. Ji Tanyin was so nice and understanding that her character became so boring for me. Even in the end, why was she still trying to reason with..... Nevermind. I just rolled my eyes like "girl please".
I don’t think it’s Tiffany Tang’s fault though, I’ve seen her in other dramas and really liked her performances. So for me, it was more about how the character was written than the acting itself. That said, aside from her character being a bit too soft and a few plot holes here and there, it was still a pretty solid watch overall. Visually beautiful, emotionally charged in parts, and definitely had its moments.
I started wailing as I started approaching the end. Take me back to when I haven't watched the glory or knew anything about it. The outfitssssss...... LOVED IT!! I love dramas set in Ming dynasty and Song? dynasty, you know, the ones with the pearl makeup.
Now, I have seen about 3 or 4 Chen Duling's drama and I guess overtime, I have associated her to play the weak character or at least pretending to be, so it is nice to see her here taking action, Now I might find it weird to see her wielding a sword or saber but this is a step in the right direction. I haven't seen Xin yunlai before but i can tell he will be a fabulous villain, I would love to see in fact. The father.... ohhh the father very much scared me. The kind of people I find it really difficult to get close to or be friends with them are people like the female lead's father. See, those people are truly terrifying because they will they will literally smile, gist with you and make you feel so good about yourself while the bury that huge axe in your back and I promise you, you cant trace it back to them. Quite frankly, I started judging the parents characters as soon as I saw both reactions towards her. Things are never that simple. The mother had the vibes of the mother in love like the galaxy. Finally, everyone did rally well. This show impressed me, seriously, take me back to when I haven't watched it.
when I found out this drama had a second season, I tried my hardest to keep away from watching it till the second season came because I didn't want it to be like LOST YOU FOREVER. I felt like the fire I felt while watching the second season for LYF wasn't like the first season. So I tried, I really tried, and I am proud but sad to say I lost the game. 😪
Bai Lu shines again 👏 👏 👏 👏👏. This is my fourth Ao Rui Peng drama, A Female Student Arrives at the Imperial College, The Blood of Youth, Wrong Carriage, Right Groom and this one. He was a bit fluffy and goofy in those roles, so imagine me seeing him break out of his usual roles, I was very impressed by that. Tbh, I couldn't quite take him seriously at first till he made an expression with is face, bro I could hear his face talk, I mean he didn't even have to say "I'm stronger than you" to zhen yu but I felt it lmao (I can't remember what episode that was) and I was like oouuuuuuu, bro didn't come to play in this one. He played the aloof character really well. LOVED IT!!!!!
And the secondary couple killed it as well, who knew flowers could be so dangerous lol. PS I learnt the Chinese word for flower in this drama.
And both couples, come rain come shine, the stood by each other and that was so refreshing to see in a xianxia drama, it's always the lack of communication and resentment that is the order of the day for this kind of drama. this one has sent a new standard for me and I am not going bac...... JK JK, I am too cheap I will still watch another that comes my way lol. Zhen Yu our villain was super comical, loved that too.
Nowww nowww, nowwww, whyyyyyyyyy was the interior like that? Was that a creative decision made on purpose? Was I the only one who had headache from all of those colors? The only arc i felt relived was during Rong Qian's dream and not even all of it just the part they were in seclusion and that was all of 5 minutes. Take the Unbridled restaurant as an example, the impression I thought they were going for was "luxury" and that wasn't what it gave. Of course, these are all my opinion, I loved this drama regardless. Oh and Bai Lu should think about doing a drama where she isn't stubborn, I'm not saying it a bad thing.
I don't even know how I feel about the end of this one. It just felt like it was missing something and I can't quite place my hands on it. The fun parts were really fun and the serious part was way too serious for this kind of project, in my opinion. I went into this with a mindset that it is a fluffy romcom with a dash of explicit content. Finally, can someone please tell me what the point of the modern scene is, I don't get it. Did they want us to imagine she fell in love with the Jang Won as opposed to Choi Hwan? or that everyone from the past will eventually run into each other at some point in the present? Because I saw familiar faces.... ouffff. I don't like feeling like this for a drama
I couldn't drop this drama. Someone please tell me they have started to film season 2 with the same cast of course. Or is this the go-and- read-the-novel-yourself-to-know-what-happens-next kinda drama? Please not! Anyway, I am a bit satisfied with the ending even when I know this is far from over but at least I know the cliffhanger wont give me sleepless nights thinking about "what next?"
Loved this so much. It ended perfectly and I am even greedy for a prologue even when I know it's really not necessary. I wanted more interactions between the brothers-in-law. They are too chaotic trying to match the Li sisters wit. And I really enjoyed the OST too but I can't find it anywhere. Shazam didn't come through this time.
