I just finished Fangs of Fortune. I went into this drama intentionally refusing to learn anything about it, not even the synopsis. Hell, all I knew about it was that my babies Neo and TJR were going to be in it. I avoided it like a plague till every episode came out. I did this because I find that I have a better experience watching some dramas when my mind isn't clouded by other peoples opinion. That said, I didn't know about the SAD/ open ending. I would have been better prepared than I was. I was bawling my eyes out it was so funny.
It's my first time meeting Yan An and gosh that man is fine. His first scene had me drooling, lol. I won't mind seeing him as a bad guy in another drama he rocked this on.
I know they were trying as much as possible to avoid the bromance thing because of censorship and all of that but the bromance between the main boys is insane and the chemistry between the 3 of them is even crazier, dare I call it a love triangle. You can feel the jealousy and rage from Li lun, the overprotectiveness of Zhuo Yichen and the complexity of Zhao Yuanzhou.
This drama traumatized me and the ost.... ohhhh the Ost is so good but that traumatized me as well. Fun fact- Some of the lyrics will make so much sense after you watch the last/special episode.
Overall- This has to be my favorite of '24 (or I should just hold my opinion till I watch the story of pearl girl, I also have no idea about that one lol)
I feel so bad, I made my sister watch it so we can watch together and discuss it, and now there’s no episode…
Me too. She has been giving the stink eye since we heard the news. She said we should wait till it has aired completely but I insisted we watched it with the rest of the fandom. And here we are.
Imo the problem is with the writing in general. There are so many plot holes, weird cuts and characters that aren't…
And totally agree with you about her reaction when her brothers came back. Personally, I was looking forward to the reunion part. Seven killed her part as Li JJ, she was so cold to her brothers when they came back and I really wanted to see that part.

I believe the problem most of us have with the remake is that we have seen the original one. But to be fair, they tried to fit 40 episodes into 16. While that is not an excuse for the plot holes, I think we should try to understand a little bit.
The actor who played the king of Xiyan here is also the King of Xiyan in Lost You Forever.
And its funny because I thought I was too much of a coincidence that most of the places mentioned here are the same with LYF. Hmm... maybe its the same universe with just several centuries different. This is so cool. I love crossover events.
I really enjoyed it, It was fun to watch till it wasn't. I mean what is that ending scene. It got repetitive at a point. My biggest problem with this drama is that none, absolutely none of the villains got a satisfying ending. Just killing them in one swoop seemed to easy. Another thing is, only what, five characters out of tens of characters weren't mean to the FL at one point or the other, so many characters hated the FL for the weirdest and sometimes illogical reasons, what was that all about?. But then again, I really liked the chemistry and Hans Zhang's smile, so I'm not mad.
This is going to be in my top 3 Cdramas for 2024. An effortless 10/10. And it's funny because I didn't even know about it until it started airing and I'm like "Well, hello there. nice to meet you too" Now, I am so sad to see them go.
WXY knows how to do kissing scenes… https://www.instagram.com/reel/C8uFfDnpcLO/?igsh=MW4yb3NheTZ6YmFmMQ==
Yo! I gave up on them kissing, I thought it will be one of those "no kissing" dramas because of the age gap, but I was pleasantly surprised when they did.
So I question for everybody that’s obsessed with this series like the first showing them this one so they don’t…
According to what I read on the internet ( I skimmed through it to be honest), it says after the Empress Nara, there was no other Empress installed while Wei Yinlou was alive even though she was the consort with the highest power in the harem at the time (defacto Empress)But she was finally Empress Dowager by her son the 15th prince when he ascended the throne, and she was dead by this time.
I loved this drama. However, I can't say I am satisfied with assistant director Ban's ending. she deserved more than she got. You cant lie and ruin someone and just get away with a slap on the wrist, that doesn't seem fair to me.
