EXACTLY!!!! you nailed it!!! that is the kdrama sexist brainwashing - this awful - and rich - guy who is so great deep down, and this kind stupid loser poor woman rehabs him. WOMEN GET SNAGGED INTO THINKING THEY SHOULD KEEP TRYING. Heck no. Run. If he is not great already, run.

But the naive ppl believe that he soooo falls in love with her - although there is absolutely nothing special about her except her constant need to be saved from her stupidities - and he keeps helping her and sugardaddies her so that she can function in life. THAT is the EXACT kdrama premise for most kdramas, and it su.ks Really badly

I think this delulu story satisfies 2 conditions: it spreads the patriarchy mysogenic teachings so that the whole society is brainwashed into thinking that women are some kind of free psychiatric nurses. Nobody takes seriously that promise that the man will ah so take care of her and cherish her. that part is kinda forgotten.

The second use of this is that it keeps women ah so happy in the delulu land, believing that they can be utterly stupid and still catch this Prince Charming. So women do not try to get their life together. They wait for Prince Charming to do it for them. The society teaches that a woman is NOTHING without a man as her front, so a woman tries to be sweet and catch some guy to take care of her. And she believes she is sooo special she will change him and have him cherish her. THAT SPELLS D * I * V * O * R * C * E and also means women will never ever be in any power positions. Their job is to be sweet stupid nurses for free - well, in exhange for being helped to navigate life.

Overall, it keeps the mysogony going. it is pretty strong in Asia VISIBLY. In the USA it is even stronger, but in a more slimey more camouflaged backstabbing way. The woman has to get a push up bra and tons of makeup and be a sex symbol Barbie doll from 9am to 5pm and from 9pm to 6am, and the rest of the hours be the cleaning lady, cook, and babysitter.

Now for the real thing. People CAN change. I have seen serious junkies go clean bc of their children, i have seen ppl fall in love and change, etc etc etc etc. I have seen ppl change bc someone stood up to them LOL I have seen myself change. I have seen crazy impossible love stories too.

Many of those stories are about change TO A CERTAIN POINT, then the person cannot go forward... and so the love or whatever breaks .

But also, I have seen where then... on the next turn, you start from there and ... you go forward....

I have also seen small invisible steps that one day lead to profound changes. Sometimes the change is over time and sooooo ... clever... and you dont notice until later that you are FUNDAMENTALLY DIFFERENT.

This can go good way or bad way LOL

The bottom line:

Stories of people changing bc of love are possible but rare. That is why we make dramas out of such stories LOL but ... to make most dramas on that same cliche is ... hm... obvious manipulation of women to force them to be sweet and stupid and kiss big fat egoistical as@ of the men around them

I am watching bc ML actor is also ML in To my Beloved Thief 2026 historical drama. He is such an excellent actor and a fabulous comedian that I decided to check this drama out too. Omg. I love it. The script is tight, the dialogues are great, and the acting is stellar. WELL DONE DRAMA. I love FL character such a strong honest woman, and I love the acting of that actress

and yeah it is a smart drama and so the rating is so low ... MDL ratings are useless :) This is an excellent drama

What started well, has gone totally off the deep end. The script became trash. The drama is about 3 spoiled teenagers, well JiHan is least spoiled, but his bro is a snowflake slimey jerk, and FL is ... immature .... and then we have Grandpa CEO who is a super bad businessman, showing his conglomerate into hands of De Hon who does NOT want it. Grandpa has not learned ONE thing in all those years, and is a CONTROL FREAK to the point of being mentally ill.

The gay brother is a total complete monster jerk, soooo slimey selfish, it is ... well... pathetic. Then we have the dumb FL who helps that PARASITE. The parasite has an art studio in Korea, an art studio in NYC, lives his life with lots of money - as long as he keeps it secret that he is gay. Then he uses FL to marry her and camouflage himself and blackmails her she has to do that for him. WOW MORON.

SO overall, ... the drama is ... a story of 2 kids, their kid brother and a nasty grandpa trying to control them. But really most time in the drama is 2 or 3 kids on the screen.

And ML FL kids keep promising to each other there is no secrets, and NOBODY ever is saying hey the groom is gay. Common.... no secrets, ha?
And if you are a girl, you gotta be a midget and be up to the navel of the guys. What the heck is that, to make all females look like children???

then... the non-gay brother admits publicly he was chasing FL and then he DISAPPEARS, breaking up with her "to protect her".... ??? wtf??? what was that about??? I didnt not even understand this idiocy.... HOW is he "helping her"???? excuse me... ??? WHAT IS GOING ON in this drama?????

Then... this chick DUMPS HIM.... !!!!! wtf? ... what kind of plot is that.. ???

ep 9,10, 11 are IDIOTIC SCRIPT .... FL "doesnt want pain" and keeps bailing out and dumping her true love..... IT IS COMPLETELY STUPID.... and that guy - why did he dump her first... ???? WTF IS EVEN REASONING IN THIS DRAMA???

The actor I wanted to watch, Moon Sang Min is doing a great job of acting in this mess. He is the brother of the closeted gay and he wants his bride... who is too ... dumb....and lying... and sooo weak... and he too.. he dumps her... then she dumps him... then he comes to get her back... REally really DUMB toxic script... He is acting well in a script that is stupid...

So this year 2024 drama THAT IS THE SAME as old dramas where you have a super weak woman making dumb choices all the time to save her as# or to "help people" and TAKE EASY WAY OUT and in tthis drama, her true love ALSO makes such choices, so you have TWO DUMB PPL

In other words, this drama is totally evil. FL IS DUMB AND WEAK, AS USUAL, AND KEEPS CREATING STUPID PLOT PLUS HER MALE PAIR IS STUPID TOO,.... !!!!!

The only adult in this drama is the 2FL, the "top 10 Forbes" female CEO. She is really worth her high position.

FL is a trashy cheap INSECURE weak looser who keeps making promises bailing out.
ML is a spoiled insecure brat.

So overall, this is worth watching for the first 6 episodes or so. It is fun and seems to be moving along.
Moon Sang Min is a great actor and a great great comedian.
He is super cocky and keeps advertising himself as good looking with a great voice, and sure you have to notice he is cute, bc he is such a good actor. He really acts well and cathes all comedy moments, he is hillarious.

I want to thank the person who wrote a post about how great the actor is who does the ML here ... I cannot find that post ... That person recommended ML's 2024 drama Marriage Impossible. It is wed/th, there is no dramas to watch, and I started that. OMG it is hilarious!

ML actor is really really skilled actor and an amazing comedian. RESPECT!

Then ... he investigated ... and found out it was not her. So he came to tell her that

I am sorry if there was any misunderstanding, I am not saying the ENTIRE drama is mysogenic. Just these little details of FL acting in dumbness and situation where ML has to save the damsel in distress. Those situations are red flags and I really start worrying the whole drama would go in that direction...

I want to clarify: Even when I wrote that earlier post, I thought that overall the drama is very positive and forward, ML and FL have a good honest communication and it is quite a healthy relationship and improving as they communicate more and more openly. FL was snotty to begin with but she gave it up fast, luckily.

It is OK that FL makes mistakes SOMETIMES and ML saves her, and vice versa.

Luckily this drama stays on track and realistically portrays gender equality.

After Tue episode, I saw that ML scolded FL for acting as a reckless moron and forcing him to save her out of her stupid wandering in typhoon... I am glad to see that. That is realistic and FAIR. he is not letting her act as a damsel in distress and use him as a sugar daddy savior... THAT IS PROGRESS in kdramas overall!!!! He forgave her only when she presented a super important excuse.... which was still stupid but forgivable to a city slicker...

So yeah I do hope this drama keeps progressing as a realistic portrayal of less-than-perfect-but-trying adults who keep learning and growing in a constructive way.

Overall the drama has a very good and positive vibe and is enjoyable. Thank you everyone!

PS - teenagers are pardoned in having a toxic relationship since it is their first experiences so they gotta learn, but we can only hope they learn fast LOL before they ruin their lives more.

More than watching it, it is more important to look inside and find out WHY you want to watch it and WHY you are hesitant to watch it.

Sometimes trashy dramas have a message we need to hear :) and sometoimes that message is to drop a trashy drama :) but at least you know WHY it is trash and you will recognize trash in the future and avoid it
