So let me explain this to you. It is very awkward bc now SHE has to say where she stands and then take action. And it is so new to her. And she really really likes him and is super careful not to lose him. And she does not really know him yet. It is building up but .... One wrong move and it could all explode. Like when he discovered the merch and left
MOST IMPORTANTLY: What are his plans with her - just trying to bag her or is there more? How serious is he? How much does he like her, and what are his expectations and habits? WHAT ARE HIS PLANS FOR THE FUTURE AND IS SHE IN THERE? IN WHAT CAPACITY?

Of course it is awkward for her. This dude is using every chance to hug or kiss her and he said he LIKES her but ... where is he going?

It is slightly awkward for him too. He likes her and keeps probing her and she does not respond. He too feels like he is walking on thin ice.

PLUS, EVEN IF HE IS SERIOUS, There are other awkward things to be talked about, for example who has been he seeing after breakup with the Ex?
What does he do when he goes on tours?
Are his alcohol and sleeping pills days over for real?

There are some additional questions - how long was he on that tour - it seemed one year? So was he sleeping around or partying there?

Does he have any STDs?

SO YEAH IT IS SUPER AWKWARD. Se Na never ever dated and never ever dealt with these questions.

It is awkward for La Ik. This super star who is so adored and chased, has to wait while his chick buys merch online. How long and how much of that could he take? CAN he date or marry her? WOULD he like something like that, being a superstar? DOES HE HAVE THE TIME to date her??? etc etc etc etc etc etc etc

As you can see, before that concert they did not even live together. The drama ends with a hug in her house, but .... we never know what really happened - did they become Mickey and Minnie Mouse, living in 2 different homes and sometimes meeting, or what.... ?

At that point they dont look awkward but they will be - discussing living arangements, marriage, or just dating, ... open dating, strict committment, etc etc etc. They dont have anymore anything strong to bond them and how they will navigate this new situation will present many awkward moments.

So now the key point that you totally missed: AWKWARD MEANS VULNERABLE. and that comes with love. So it is inherent in any love relationship :)

WRITTEN LATER BASED ON REPLIES: I am sorry if there was any misunderstanding, I am not saying the ENTIRE drama is mysogenic. Just these little details. They are red flags and I really start worrying the whole drama would go in that direction...

Even when I wrote that, I thought that overall the drama is very positive and forward, ML and FL have a good honest communication and it is quite a healthy relationship and improving as they communicate more and more openly. FL was snotty to begin with but she gave it up fast, luckily. It is OK that FL makes mistakes SOMETIMES and ML saves her, and vice versa.

Luckily this drama stays on track and realistically portrays gender equality.

After Tue episode, I saw that ML scolded FL for being stupid and forcing him to save her out of her stupid wandering in typhoon... I am glad to see that. That is realistic and FAIR. he is not letting her use him as a sugar daddy savior... THAT IS PROGRESS!!!! He forgave her only when she presented a super important exuse.... which was still stupid but forgivable to a city slicker...

Gosh the Nephew needs to grow out of that toxic obsession destructive behavior in the name o "love". He is feeling something, but that is not love. And, she is a moron.

Nephew actor is underutilized in his drama. He can act complex stuff, he was a ML in Spirit fingers, and in this drama is kept essentially a zombie with a poker face all the time - so boriing. BUT that scene when he finds out - he nailed it. ML or FL could not act that. So the nephew actor should go on to really complex roles, he is talented.

I am not sure what post you are replying to? What "Depends on the genre" ? Are Light Shop, Moving, Judge From Hell, and Call it Love from Disney?

"hollywood effect" is not only supernatural/superhero or special efects etc. It is more about ... lack of content, more frills like s.x violence special efects etc. and the overall isolation, despair, bad guys as main characters, overall message that there is no way out.

Honey pie: such scenes are very short and not sooo frequent to demand whining about it.

People have to reflect and think, to rest, to have a quiet happy moment, to feel, to empty their head... Drinking a cup of tea is a way to do that. I am biased and will say coffee cannot do that bc it is a stimulant LOL So... drinking a cup of tea .... LOL

Such a scene is a way to show that a person is deeply processing something or enjoying a quiet moment or starting their busy day or pausing in the middle of their busy day....
OR escaping reality and wasting time OR playing hookie OR doing a product placement OR really loving tea / coffee LOL

So it would be good to be patient and go with the mood and FEEL what is going on. That cup of tea also gives you, the audience, to stop and reflect and feel yourself.

If you can. If you cannot and/or are not willing to .. then drop the drama.

First, you have no idea about breakups and subsequent deep grief, esp after 10 yrs like ML and 2FL had... Many ppl end up zombies for years. 2FL was "lucky" to be rich so they put her into a psych ward. Most people just botch their daily life, turn to alcohol, drugs, sleeping around, not sleeping, being disfunctional, etc.. Men or women.

You are playing some medical professional with latin diagnosis but you really have no understanding of the context and what is really shown.

Sometimes dramas are trash and I drop, like Dynamite Kiss or Can this love be translated. Sometimes they have potential and then become a mess and I drop. like For Eagle Brothers or Our Golden Days.
Sometimes my buttons get pushed and I bitterly complain, like when one of "my" fav characters got killed in Haunted House.
Sometimes I watch bc I MUST LEARN something from that drama like Discovery of Love, when I realized I behaved very similarly to one character..... and this helped me to bravely make a decision that I was sitting on for weeks...

Sometimes I watch trash because I have to learn something. I watched trashy Twelve to learn HOW a drama gets ruined LOL
I watched trashy Would YOu Marry Me to learn how to copy a character into another drama and what the parts of a weak woman are, and just 1 minute speech of FL in one of the last scenes was a great learning, and my reaction to the trashy drama was a testimony to me that I passed an internal test for myself and sort of "graduated" in my own life

Sometimes I watch trashy stuff bc I need to learn something, like Typhoon family and IMF crisis and the SONG they played at the very last minute of the very last episode..


SO ... WHATEVER YOUR REASON WILL BE, WATCH WHAT YOUR HEART SAYS YOU NEED TO WATCH

The scene between two growling male cats making peace in the detective's office was a RIOT it was so well done. Realistic, comical, honest, and very deep. Bravo.

Overall, this drama is a great lesson in communication and love - what is real and true, and what is not.

It was nice to have ep 12 to wrap up. No rush.
All karma paid off, and a brand new fresh start for everyone who wanted a brand new fresh start :) Mom got acknowledged and gifted, and the rest is up to her, if she continued to misnbehave, maybe they never saw her again LOL
Se Na is still a fan LOL We never got to see a wedding and seems like La Ik and Se Na still didnt live together before the concert but the last scene maybe indicates they started. Keeping their relationship will be as much work as this drama and a lot more LOL

Can they be deep in 6 episodes? Maybe. A movie can be deep in 1.5 hrs
Can they be detailed and complex in 6 episodes? No.
Can they address stories and relationships of MANY people, and possibly over a long period of time, in 6 episodes? No.

I am gonna be blunt here and address the pink elephant in the room, all the wannabes who wanted a top notch mystery, a great romance, AND all in 12 episodes or under ..... bc they do not have the focus to watch and observe longer. AND bc they could not figure it out until it was revealed... LOL

this drama was never supposed to be a top notch mystery drama. The murder is just the pretext that brings Idol and his fan into contact and leads to their transformation.

And top of it, a typical script writer is paid like $300 or less per episode, reported Asian Boss in his youtube vide How Netflix Ruined Kdramas;
and the audience does not have the focus and patience to watch carefully anyways

??? what is the problem there? She is his secret fan AND his lawyer, and she likes him, and he keeps hitting on her. and she never dated. OF COURSE SHE IS AWKWARD. She is next to the crush of her life, in real life, and he keeps pushing to bag her, he is cute charming and SKILLED hunter, he keeps asking her key questions which she cannot honestly answer, and figures her out instantly, and she is totally smitten and confused and barely able to keep him at bay.

If she looks him in the eye or comes closer, she is toast, she wont be able to resist him and he will eat her up. She has not gone on one single date in her whole life.
