I am tempted to not read the comments bc there are some .. well... like mooc pornographic posts... but ... then I might miss someone smart and observant saying something useful or profound... So.. I am gonna read the comments and block all those creating a mess :) I already blocked user mooc...

I am interested in this drama bc overall it has a positive message and I see that ML and FL are starting to communicate honestly and work as a team, so I want to follow that. I assume that some bad stuff will be happening to them and it will take some ugly episodes to work it out, so I will patiently watch bc I want to see how ML-FL collaborate to make it better.

(Disclaimer: unless I get convinced that the drama is trash :) I learned the hard way to cut my losses fast. Now I know what the red flags are :)

what kind of thought process is this ewwwwwwww so what if he's a virgin and she's not?
EXACTLY! THIS USER @MOOC SEEMS TO BE OBSESSED WITH THIS FANTASY THAT KDRAMAS HAVE PROMISCUOUS WOMEN WHO SNAG A VIRGIN FILTHY RICH CEO

we need to shut that user up as this is a totally factually incorrect premise
Replying to mooc Jan 28, 2026
And what's up with every ML having a trauma & staying virgin & not even looking at woman into their 30's?Are…
For all that we know, mooc could be a drunk drugged person writing drunk drugged stuff. Or some acne filled teenager with serious inferiority issues, or some middle aged perv. .... It does not matter. It is time for those posts to STOP.

@mooc I think you missed it, your ideas are just incorrect. Also, the way you are discussing is majorly disrespectful.
@mooc this is your last chance before I report you and block you for obscene content.

Kdramas do NOT have to explicitly address TMI areas of human life. It is vouyering and cheap. Kdramas are MASTERFUL in delicately and respectively acknowledging ALL areas of human life, and focusing on topics that are meaningful for the drama.

you are protesting the idea that kdramas have shady promiscuous women who then snag a virgin CEO. So what??? What is wrong with that??? IT IS JUST ONE OF MANY POSSIBLE COMBINATIONS..... LOVERS COME IN ALL FORMS!!!!! And not all kdramas use that particular combination!!!!!! and no, a virgin woman is NOT required... and no, a virgin male above 20 is OK too!!!!! People have the right to live their lives!!!!

in other words, you are stating something very incorrect and making a really nasty rude disrespectful, rather pornographic post about it.

SO LET'S CLEAR THIS UP ONCE AND FOR ALL. Enough of your spreading misinformation. If you ever post anythng like you posted, I will report your post for lewd content.

FIRST, many kdramas have a virgin female who is weak and exploted by an overbearing experienced or not CEO. You forgot about those... And you forgot about many kdramas where ML is a player. Like... My Roommate is a Gumiho, Gentleman's Dignity, I love Romance 3, etc etc etc etc in The Innocent Man, ML is an escort for money. In Descendants of the Sun, the soldiers are players.
Most kdramas have ppl going on dates, blind dates, actively looking for a partner. You forgot about that. Kdramas portray ppl who just have a s.x buddy - and accidentally fall pregnant - like in I Love Romance #3, or a long term partner, or a spouse, or nobody... ALL possible cases. ...

SECOND, some kdramas talk about "special case" characters like ... a virgin soldier or CEO, or a virgin woman who hides from life. Either young people who are just coming of age, or adults with trauma. In . "First Night with the Duke". you have a top level soldier who recently became an adult and he then runs into his first woman. In Idol I, FL was a daughter of a murderer and just stayed home or worked, hiding in isolation for like 20-30some years. She was traumatized.
One of my favorites is Love Divine, where a very pious future priest decides to disrobe to get married LOL and his fellow student keeps jumping over the fence to sneak out from the church and go out partying, womanizing, smoking, drinking, etc and that guy gets confirmed as a priest LMAO

THIRD: many of the cases you describe are very YOUNG men and it is normal that their first encounter is quite late. Like First Night with the Duke That dude is about 20 some yrs old. It is totally normal and healthy and mature that he was holding up until he found someone he really liked. When he DID find her, he did not hesitate. Koreans are healthy and know their stuff :)

There are TONS of kdrama with FLs who have never dated before. That is more common than not. But there are pleeeenty dramas about adult women with previous experiences, usually a nasty ex... Also, dramas about promiscuous women who jump into bed and then ask questions later. Those are rare though. Growing Season is about collge students and one of the females is like that. Another one breaks up with his long term boyfriend, and third one decides to invest into her first time properly, dumps her nasty crush, and start dating a very nice guy from her higshcool. All options are presented and made available for the audience to pick what they like.

FOURTH most kdrama characters are portrayed as healthy and curious, with various levels of sexual experience. The society itself provides for decent s.x education, between erotic books, giseang, hostesses, dance, songs, etc. AND KDRAMA KISSES LOL

Historical dramas are very clear about polygamy, concubines, giseangs, erotic books that EVERYONE read, noble males were sleeping around like crazy, and seems like commoners were quite free to sleep around too, and I would think slaves were encouraged to, since they produced more baby slaves, etc.

and modern dramas are very clear about hostesses and S-lines and sex-allowed-without-marriage for both genders, about drinking and drunken mistakes, etc. S Korea drinks a LOT, they are 14th in the world. Then there is required-for-business drinking and going to a hostess bar...

Being intoxicated goes together with sleeping around, there is no way out of that. So ... assume lots of s.x between (drunk) adults... it is implied.

S Korea is also a rather conservative family oriented culture so it seems that young people hold on to some decent age and THEN plunge in, and use discretion and good taste and do not make pigs out of themselves. Seems like they have sophistication and discernment.

S Korea is also a rather cruel competitive capitalist economy and many ppl work work work and have NO TIME or energy to have a social life. So you jump out of school into college, then into your first job, and you are just too busy to even think about romance, esp if you are poor or an executive and working too much.
For example, Young male professionals in It is All Beautiful Now were celibate for many years without any plans to date, bc they just were too busy with work. I think one had a gfriend and got badly burned and gave up, the oldest was too nerdy and never dated, the youngest never dated bc he was so young. But once they were promised an apartment if they get married, suddenly they found someone who easily fit into their lifestyle and they took the chance. LOL
Also, many ppl have important jobs and high positions and do not think of having any romance. Like ML top lawyer partner in Beyond the Bar. He just works works works.. and even a nice woman next to him is not tempting him to act bc she is his subordinate and it would disrupt his work. He is also grieving his divorce...

FIFTH, kdrama portray men who are celibate bc they are grieving some loss or trauma... That is NORMAL response to the situation... Sometimes kdramas show damaged children who grow into loner adults, or ppl in very heroic situations, like Love Me shows a middle aged man who took care of his sick wife for 7 yrs... and did not sleep around. he was totally dead by the end of it... and jumped into a new relationship as soon as his wife died. Tha is NORMAL.

Many kdramas show very skilled male "hunters", they pick a woman they want, and they go after her, and are very very patient and will wait for a while. Even a guy who is a virgin becomes very crafty. DO they find some dump grounds to prevent overboiling while they are waiting? We dont know. The drama will politely skip those details. It is proper as we the audience do not need TMI.

S KOREA IS CERTAINLY NOT PRUDE and to be honest, from my point of view, has a rather healthy attitude towards s.x, EXCEPT for the drinking. I think kdramas treat those questions with good tact and sensitivity. Nothing is brushed off and nothing is hyped up. It is just a NORMAL healthy way to discuss one part of human life. I applaud kdramas for that.

It is a welcome oasis from the Christian guilt ideas and enticement with things forbidden and dirty bc ppl feel so guilty, and then all perversions on that topic... one of which is requiring a virgin woman. Heck that was from the times when women were traded around like cattle. Get out of that mode... already!

SO PLEASE STOP SPREADING FALSE INFORMATION AND BITCHING ABOUT NON-EXISTENT ISSUES
Especially since you seem to keep posting about it, and maybe even on pages of other dramas.

=======
The dramas are discreet about sexuality issues if those issues will disrupt the drama. For example, Idol I ML is a famous musician and he goes on looooong tours. The drama does not adadress it and makes it look like he was not sleeping around during that time. Perhaps he did not. But maybe ... he has a bae he quietly uses as a dump ground during tours, or sleeps with fans in secret... who knows. But that is not important for the drama, so the drama does not address it.
ML in "Surely TOmorrow" breaks up with his girlfriend twice and did not have any gfriends ater the breakups. DID he grab someone to bang with sometimes? We do not know It is not important for the drama so the drama skips that. Same with martial arts champion in Once Again - once he left the house, did he find anyone else... ? he must have... but the drama gently avoids to answer that question... and lets him be nice to his old flame before he leaves.

==========================================================
THE correct stuff that you are addressing is dramas showing adult males being celibate waiting for "his" girl to come back or show up. Like in recent "Surely Tomorrow" etc... That is a little ... unrealistic ... but possible. I know quite a few men and women who lived like that. Very often ppl get burned on a relationship and just give up dating.

There is also the plot where male lead has to stay celibate or else he is gonna die... Like in "Queen's Tears" where he wants a divorce but the nasty chaebol wife would kill him for that

SO THERE ARE MANY ROMANTIC SITUATIONS IN KDRAMAS AND IT IS ALL GOOD AS FAR AS I CAN SEE, IT IS RATHER HEALTHY AND NORMAIL

SO LIVE WITH IT AND STOP POSTING DISRESPECTFUL POSTS WITH MISINFORMATION .

I haven't read all the comments so I don't know if others have already said this, but doesn't this have rather…
Nah this is very different than Dynamite Kiss... the vibe and the plot. This one has communication and togetherness, team work, very early, and ML is very honest and kind, and FL becomes honest and cooperative quickly. She already told him she appreciates him etc so there is NO WAY you can compare that to 2ML and FL in DK... !!!!

DK was very toxic from start to end, in the very first episode she ran away without saying a goodbye gotta run my mother is in the hospital! and she kept running away and lying and ML kept revenging and using violence against her, then she kept falling like 5 times per episode and needing a rescue, so he rescued her every time and then romantically chased her in a violent way... She was a total liar and loser and runaway, the slightest inconvenience made her just dump him, and he kept chasing her... BECAUSE she kissed well and was eager to get into bed.... it was PATHETIC.... There are zillion other women who can kiss and get into bed...
2ML - FL was also pathetic case of lying and lack of communication and honesty
Forget that drama, it was a major evil delulu drama

??? what is the problem there? She is his secret fan AND his lawyer, and she likes him, and he keeps hitting on…
This drama says mating is a must. La Ik kept asking for it and attempting and Se Na liked the idea, and that is where it was going for sure. They are 30 yrd old adults and they consented to it.

So do not apply YOUR personal standards here esp since your personal standards do NOT apply here, to two healthy young straight ADULTS. who are NOT monastics and have no reason to not mate.

And do not comment on it as you are not qualified, if you "never do formal stuff with men", you are mis-speaking as an alien to the situation in this drama. You have no experience to speak from.

I think Chung Jae moved out because Laik was moving in lol That was why he moved out he knew his days were numbered…
La Ik was SMART :) That friend/tenant had to move out of SeNa's house AND prety much out of Se Na's life even if LaIk did not move in... :) Having him there would mean that LaIk and Se Na would have to live their life as if they had a kid in the house, a kid who can barge in any time and/or take all the attention to himself.... a kid who could use any chance to take over ...

Even if La Ik did not live there and just came to visit, it would be a mine field... The "friend/tenant" would come over a lot at any time and would be around a lot as he works from home AND collaborates with Se Na on cases ... It would be super awkward to have the friend keep disrupting private moments...

it would be unpleasant, from awkward to a full blown nightmare... LaIk and Se Na would have to see the friend around and bump into him... to have the friend talk to the landlord and collaborator Se Na .... to have Se Na prioritize the friend!!!! like she did already for the opening day...

What if the "tenant" could not stop pursuing Se Na or having a crush on her??? .... What if that thought would be in the back of everyone's mind... ? Esp when LaIk disappears for months on a tour...

NO thanks to any of that. Move out asap :)

===
Meanwhile, we do NOT know what La Ik is doing when he is on a tour for months...

Kdramas are mostly made for a female audience so I don’t know why you’re complaining if anything males should…
New kdramas are getting quite good.
Idol I that just finished airing, had true equals with excellent communication. To my Beloved Thief is ALMOST there as well and seems like No Tail to Tell.
My Dearest Nemesis had equals in excellent communication.
There are others like Moon River etc Typhon Family was not bad, etc. etc etc
Current Positively Yours is not terrible either

Spring Fever is overall not bad in equality. FL can make mistakes - sometimes... and sometimes she saves the ML bc he makes mistakes... it is all give and take. So I do NOT count Spring Fever as a bad drama for equality. It has overall positive messages. SOMETIMES it slips but it is not bad. FL was honest and is sticking to ML and their promises. I count her as a relatively good female role model (after she gave up being snotty in defense, and fessed up.) I am glad she gave up quite quckly :)
Spring Fever shows toxicity in the teenage relationship - where it is somewhat proper LOL it has to be overcome like a childhood disease and gotten over with LOL

c-k colab drama Making Family has equals too

Older kdramas do suffer from mysogony, loser weak trepid female and a guy who saves her was a typical plot.. .but it is luckily changing. And, it is like the only major flaw of kdramas LOL

I do not watch cdramas ... I have tried but ... Cdramas are a little too crude for my taste... they lack the warmth and lightness, the sense of humor and compassion and working on one's own and as a team that kdramas have .
UNLESS it is a master cdrama, which is rare, but when it happens - wow there is nothing as deep. Like 2016 movie Xuan Zhang about a Buddhist monk walking to India to get sacred texts

Stephen Chow from Hong Kong has gender equality and honesty in his movies.

Kdramas are mostly made for a female audience so I don’t know why you’re complaining if anything males should…
i have to think about this. I agree that some of typical sexist tropes cater to women, but ... they also cater to men. The male gets to be the superhero and always smart, capable and ruling over the woman, she is so dumb that she MUST have his protection and guidance. And yeah now you can say that's hard work for the man to babysit someone like that. no thanks to that, where is the payoff to the man???
The payoff is that he gets to fu.k her and gets his dishes washed and kids taken care of - yeah you can say, that is cheap, who cares for that, there are zillion other women... for free... without any trouble....
I then say - but the message that the man is the superior, thinks better, does better, woman cannot live without his protection, advice, guidance, etc bc the woman is LESSER and is to be CONTROLLED kept on the leash by this superion being called man - that is a powerful bait message... This is how poor whites chose to side with rich white and torment the African slaves - the payoff of having SOMEONE lesser than you, that you can despise, control and exploit... That payoff is always too tempting to the stupid...

There are LOTS of males watching this and commenting. So clearly kdramas are not only for female audience. This sexist trope flatters males too.
There are quite a few kdramas which do not have much if any female characters too and are clearly for male audience, like thrillers, etc .
And dumb women just flatter men. Watching dumb women makes any insecure and/or sexist male feel ah so satisfied. There is SOMEONE out there more stupid that him that he reigns over.

ULTIMATELY THIS IS NOT ABOUT DRAMA TROPES. Ultimately it is about brainwashing the society that one half of it is "lesser" so that the other half IS ENTITLED TO EXPLOIT the first half. It is a fundamental premise that allows less than 50% of population to control 100% of resources, decision making, etc. This is very very serious stuff. Women have been essentially slaves for thousands of years and that kind of thinking has hard time dying off.. because 50% of popualton benefits from it and hogs all power and resources and doesnt want to let go of such a ;lucrative arrangement... And many women also cling to it, bc it allows them a cushy irresponsible lifestyle at the expense of some sugar daddy. Basically, a woman gets a free ride, she is not responsible for anything, she just cooks cleans and supports the ppl in power. To make an analogy, a sexist woman consents to be a domestic animal bc it is safer and more comfortable than being a wild animal, but domestic animals have to work and abide by strict rules and are basically in a jail and to be killed one day. But still, that cushy lifestyle seems enticing.

I agree that there is probably a greater number of female audience
and many women propagate mysogony

otherwise, there would have been a lot more women in power positions.

Gees there was maybe 2 minutes total of such scenes, you missed the drama, do not excuse your own lack of focus…
Seems like it is you who doesnt understand the quiet moments when you relax and go into alpha mode, when you self reflect, when you LISTEN to your heart, when you rest from the mind chatter.
Those "staring and talking" moments are exactly what I described, a chance to get into a character's head and find out what is going on . I used cup of tea as a simple example but it happens in so so many ways.
AND YOU HAVE NO CLUE that this happens, bc you never do it yourself. Your comment illustrates that you are permanently distracted, frenzied, stuck in the busy mind.

So yeah, farewell, until you learn to have some prayer/meditation/self reflection moments, you will not understand what I said. This is all gibberish to you :) and it speaks about who YOU are :)
