Yeah, the daughter post-death feeling of remorse is the first step, but she never ever really self reflected on the entire situation...
Mother is guilty of hating the daughter for it for 7 years and dumping it on the father. Mother is guilty for recklessly behaving as if she were superhuman mom and blindly giving in to anything her child requested... and when the consequences of that hit her, pun intended, and ruined her life, she did not forgive her daughter.... but she created a daugher like that!!!! and she willingly went out in rain, answered the cell phone while driving in th rain, rushed driving in the rain, ..... without any precautions, and even with this pride in acting as a superhuman mom.
Dad is guilty for keeping the rosey glasses on for 7 years, always lying it was not daughter's fault, never blaming his wife, never forcing the two women to come to terms with it..... and giving up his life to take care of his wife and allowing his wife to keep abusing him for 7 years;
and the son of course is totally immature too. He lives off his sister and parents, has fun, nevertries to be independent, flits around with various majors but does not put the effort into school, etc.
The daughter caused the accident. Calling for an urgent delivery in rain, non-stop calling the driver while driving, yelling to hurry up... is all causing the accident. a courier would also be injured in that rain
The daughter in that rain was ****Demanding**** that the mom be the perfect supermom....
The mother too is guilty of trying to perform as a superman mom and then not able to hold her own responsibiltiy for not calling the courier and for answering her cell phone and rushing while driving in the rain.
The father is guilty for trying to be a superman dad, telling his daughter it was not her fault, telling his wife it was not her fault,..... then sticking like glue to his wife, never having a life on his own...
He is guilty for trying to be a superman husband and stay cooped up with his bed-ridden wife for 7 years, allowing her depression and abuse. They should have gone to a psychiatrist. But they did not want or could not pay? They went to church. Wasnt there some kind of free counseling there? The father was trying to be a superman husband.... for 7 years being a hermit trying to shower love on his very sick wife....
So yeah... in ep 2, the immature daughter runs into an immature guy who is also quite creepy. She knows nothing about him... she just met him "on the street" so to speak and he already lied to her once that he lives in the same building... and then she jumps into a relationship with him, enticed by s.x
So yeah... as soon as the father gets off the leash in ep 2, and back into the life, he will fall for some woman... but who knows what she is gonna be like...
And yeah, we already seen what kind the immature son fell for..
So by the end of ep 2, we know the faults of the whole family - total lack of communication and self accountability, sheltered immature kids, and parents pretending to be superhuman and completely failing to upkeep the pretense.

This is a masterful drama so far. By the end of ep 2, we know the faults of the whole family - total lack of communication and self accountability, sheltered immature kids, and parents pretending to be superhuman and completely failing to keep up the pretense. The family members lack inner strength to honestly face oneself and thus are too weak to honestly face each other. It is a very toxic family that looks like a socially acceptable "nice family".
The drama starts when all of this accidentally gets exposed - pun intended .... The main issue is that the family fails to talk about the resulting open hatred and guilt in the family, which destroys the family and its members.
This reminds me of one of my favorite movies ever, a classic american movie Ordinary People (1980). Two teenage brothers secretly paddled in a small boat to open water; a storm suddenly came and the popular older son drowned, and the quiet younger son Conrad survived with guilt. The mother was so cold and dissing Conrad, and never forgave Conrad for surviving while "her" son died.... The father tried talking to her to help her see what she is doing to Conrad, but she refused to change. Eventually the father took Conrad and left the mother.
So that movie is where a family resolved a situation where family members fail to be self reflective and accountable to self and each other. Both kids are irresponsible, super spoiled and weak brats, and the parents' lives are ruined, and the dad keeps upholding the pretense "out of consideration".
This kdrama shows what happens when you keep upholding the pretense of "being there for each other" but without self-reflection and self-accountability, without honest communication and calling each other to responsibility. **** The result is a disaster **** ... pun intended. The parents here are older so they kept the pretense for many years. A younger couple might have divorced early and then repeated the same with new partners.
FL's friends young couple show a way to keep the pretense - drink alcohol every night....
FL's Mother and father are guilty of pretending to be super parents. Father is guilty of pretending to be a super husband. Daughter is guilty of being a spoiled cruel brat without any sense of self reflection and self responsiblitiy. Son too...
Son is an adult parasite and a drifter, living off his sister and parents, without trying hard to become independent.... ..... Dad is a healthy man who was essentially a single guy with no private life whatsoever, doing a 24/7 caretaker job for a very ill and abusive person, for 7 years. Yeah he is gonna crack bad too.... Father is gonna fall for the first woman who tries to grab him....
And the daughter is gonna crack bad too, as her "run away from responsiblity" life leads to disasters.... like meeting a new, rather weird guy and not asking questions...
Their new relationships are all gonna fail because of this. Son's already did...
so let us see if the drama can make these characters grow up in 11 episodes... If this drama manages to address that in a positive constructive realistic way, it will be a masterpiece. A sure way to kill this drama would be to keep generating plot out of their toxic unchanged selves.

I disagree with you about the father. The father already was cooped up for 7 years! and deserves to get out.... and also, he had 7 years of "dead wife" and a new romance is not rushed at all. First of all, the father should have gone to Jeju on a vacation to have some time to grieve, and also some time to ***REST*** after working so hard for 7 years, putting the sick person first, putting up with her constant abuse and depression, and never ever having a life. I am so glad I read the comments and decided to start watching this drama. Wow this looks promising, ep 1-2 is a real thing, a real art - such great dialogues, plot, acting and music... so light, warm, (tragi)comical, and also deep, and sad, and cruel .... just like real life, taken well ... or not..... That daughter and the mother DID contribute to the accident of the mother, and they they blamed and hated each other for 7 yrs. The daughter even had the guts to be nasty for SEVEN years and even on her last day and to feel wronged by her mother. Both are immature idiots... now the daughter has 11 episodes to grow up... Since she is too weak to self reflect and be accountable, her relationship is gonna be ... immature too... She did take the first step in post- self reflection, but never did she admit everything wrong she did...
