Oh I want this visible - propagating societal sexism ie brainwashing ppl and catering to the current social prejudices is why typical kdrama / asian drama has a very dumb FL who is rash irrational clutzy poor AND ALSO VERY NICE AND DOORMATY ...... LIKE MS. KIM...... and has to be saved by a man. Name me kdrama that does not have a FL like that.

Too many kdramas are entirely based on the plot of naive stupid clutzy loser FL and all the stupidities she does and the great man who KEEPS saving her..... . IT IS CLEAR THAT IS HOW KOREA / ASIA SEES WOMEN and so I protest that :) As an international audience, I have a say too :) The international audience is also used portraying women as losers. ... it is a global thing. Sexism is global. Women have been treated like slaves for how many thousands of years now... ? so that men can have access to ALL resources and power.
In the USA, sexism is very vile bc it is hidden - a woman seemingly looks empowered and equal bc she sleeps around and does seemingly whatever she wants - but she has to be just like a Barbie Doll and live a dumb life with makeup and push up bra and spend 3 hours per day preening herself and about $1000 per month on cosmetics and hair .... or else ... and yeah, earns 74% of men's salary

I think the value of this kdrama will be to show how Ms. Kim evolves into a strong independent woman, able to truly help others

In the USA, girls do not study math and science and pretend to be dumb, and wear makeup and pushup bras in order to be socially acceptable or else thy wont get a boyfriend... You should see what teenagers wear - I buy teenage clothes for dance outfits... it is all bare stomach and deep cleavage cuts...

The USA is 74, S Korea is 68. The difference is very small!!!!! In the USA, young males are not openly aggressively hostile like this article describes. They are simply NOT THERE. Nobody marries, they make kids left and right and leave them, etc . There is no respect for women. Women are expected to be a live Barbie Doll, with a pushup bra and sex ready. And sure, dumb.
In the USA, there is no family anymore.

Typical kdrama FL is clumzy loser, socially inept, inept in living her life, poor, incapable, unconnected. BUT NICE. ANd NICE = DOORMAT. I hate doormat kdrama FLs.

I ALREADY KNOW WHAT S KOREA WOMEN SITUATION IS JUST BY LOOKING AT KDRAMAS.
Entire kdrama plot for too many kdramas is about some rash irrational impulsive POOR woman who is "nice" and goody goody and naive and helps everyone and hurts herself, and has to be then protected by some man.
And the fantasy plot of some total clutz and/or ugly poor girl who gets noticed by some super rich and handsome dude who then chases her.

That is why I vehemently protest kdrama FL who are clutzes :) I want change.

So - to be clear - Ms. Kim is NOT nice. She is an enabler :) And i want to see her change. The drama is to show that change :)

Behind this is also the Asian "I own my kids" ie using kids are transactional material. ie selling your kids - telling them what to study who to marry etc

I cannot really relate to your experiences in the UK bc I am not familiar with that world. Western /Norther / Eastern / Southern Europe does not interest me LOL never interested me...

I have tons of friends from India and China bc I went to school in the USA

The only time I visited the UK was to go to a wedding of a friend of mine in some part of London and that .. was ... disappointing - the white colonizers in full blast.... sexism... small mindedness... And London itself - so ... creepy.... really creepy... I could "hear and feel" screaming from the dungeons LOL it felt so opressive and everyone looked so bloated and unhealthy, I guess the infamous english food got them really really grumpy LOL

and then I took a bus to Glastonberry (out of the festival, I wanted to see the sacred Druid land) and I had a meeting with the ancient England, I felt like magical beings are gonna jump out any time, everything felt so steeped in ancient mystery and 100000% MAGICAL. I went to the well and sat with huge oaks and tall nettles..

And then everything that England did... with colonization and neo colonization and industrial revolution ... it seems as if England was a place of some ancient civilization that perhaps was quite advanced and then something evil took over and stayed there and spread over the world. TO be honest, that's my hunch.
