Omg what the surprise!!! lmao lmao lmao I just looked up the ML actor here lmao I had not recognized him at all lmao He was ML in Pump Up Healthy Love - he was a lot bulkier there.... and a total riot... what the riot! and in Weak Hero season 2 he was a very ... stupid but convincing villain lmao here he has perfectly nailed down acting like a sly smart old geezer I should have recognized the eyes, that "I am cool" look
So that actor is 29 now and just going to military! wow. That is quite old for military service, isnt it. But he gotta do it before he is too late And he has done TONS of tv shows, dramas and movies I had no idea until a few seconds ago.
Another user just astutely summarized a key plot of this drama, so I will just repeat it here:
** this drama is about mending a broken relationship between a father and a daughter.**
And yeah his taking care of his bad kids too and his wife. Basically a family cleanup.
Everything Chairman did so far was to accommodate the satanic twins. I am not sure HOW they turned out that way.... but they are Satan spawns, as another user astutely called them.
So... the Chairman sent his youngest daughter to the USA and totally forgot about her and she was not supposed to come even close to the company - he abandoned his daughter and was a father just on paper .... His reason was that he was trying to protect her, bc the evil twins would kill her. I kinda understand that reasoning but then - why did he make the kid.. ??? Abandoning her like that is super lame.
the Chairman planned to leave his company to one evil twin and totally sidestep his youngest daughter. That is lame.
Chairman's wife has no power to vote in Board meetings so seems like she has no shares??? so that evil twins would not kill her too... ?
In other words, everything that Chairman did family-wise so far was .... STUPID GREEDY COMPLACENT
So now is his chance to fix it. First he needs to learn to be more humane, He hasnt changed his ignorant brutal ways with other humans YET
I agree. How can the step children have such power over their step mother to the extent of making her a housekeeper?…
Something is weird, indeed, the wife has no power to vote, does not seem to have shares, and when Chairman is not around, she is powerless. Perhaps he did not give her shares for the same reason he sent his daugher to the USA - to protect her from being killed by the twins.
I'm on ep 2 recently so...In ep 2. Bang Geul said "he is my father only on paper". Maybe romance is possible…
He is her bio father but never took any interest in her, and in fact, when she was about ... 7? yrs old or so, he sent her to study overseas and never kept in contact - so that is why she is saying he is her father only on paper.
He sent her away so that the twins would not kill her. Then she was kept away and she had to totally stay away from the company, or else twins would hurt her
every time there is a successful KDRAMA, there are trolls that rate it down. There are many MDL accounts which are fake empty accounts just used for downrating KDRAMAS.
There used to be trolls that rated down the **future, unaired episodes* of kdramas but I dont see that here.
Boom Shakalaka!!!! lmao do you know, I actually am familiar with that, and it is incredibly funny, and I dont…
I am from Betelgez V I am scientifically studying Earthlings.
I am everywhere and nowhere
I am neither Christian nor Jew, neither Muslim nor Hindu. I am not from the East or the West, not from the ocean or the ground. Not of natural wonders, nor of the stars. My place is the no-place, my trace is the traceless. I have chased out duality, lived the two worlds as one. One I seek, one I know, one I see, one I call.
I will need Someone to feed my cat When I leave this world. Though my cat is not ordinary. She only has three paws:Fire, Air, Water
Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. Iโll meet you there
There is a place where the sidewalk ends and before the street begins, and there the grass grows soft and white, and there the sun burns crimson bright, and there the moon-bird rests from his flight to cool in the peppermint wind.
Let us leave this place where the smoke blows black and the dark street winds and bends. Past the pits where the asphalt flowers grow we shall walk with a walk that is measured and slow and watch where the chalk-white arrows go to the place where the sidewalk ends.
Yes we'll walk with a walk that is measured and slow, and we'll go where the chalk-white arrows go, for the children, they mark, and the children, they know, the place where the sidewalk ends.
I will let you research these poems on your own :) The answer is where the sidewalk ends. Peace
I think you're confusing "food matters" with "military life is easy."This is a drama about a military…
I do not understand your post. I replied exactly to what comment... ? FYI I reply to practically all replies to me.... If it is something trivial, like "ok see you later" I will just like it, to others I will write... Only in some severe REPEATED offense cases I just leave the reply sitting there for all to see...
So dont consider yourself special lmao I replied to you bc you were raising a point you genuinely believed in. I presented my stand and refuted your argument
*** AND YOU REFUSED TO LISTEN TO ME *** Instead of listening, you ACCUSED ME so this is not a dialogue but harassment
and how does my reply to "exactly that comment" make your INTERPRETATION entirely unreasonable??
It sounds like you are framing me for something I did not do so that you can be in the right. :)
As I said, BYE, we cannot communicate here, this is not a dialogue :) You are now on my list of ppl who do not talk but try to hit you over the head. You are not rude enough for me to block you, but ... I will ignore you.
you do not have any credibility in my eyes as you have not demonstrated you can TALK
FAREWELL
DO NOT EVER WRITE AGAIN TO ME OR ELSE I WILL HAVE TO BLOCK YOU your posts from now on are a waste of time
btw you are either not married/paired up or you have a slave next to you who cannot peep a word to you and always has to agree This will teach you that there are people in the world that actually require you to LISTEN to their opinions :)
G is an immature and very cold slimey snowflake as he keeps changing his mind, seducing and bailing out on EA, back and forth, one day seducing, the next day bailing, playing an emotional yo-yo on her... I want you, I dont want you.... I just want to shake him up to stop bothering uri very smart, capable, and loving EA..... Uri EA is NOT to be thrown around like that!!!!
I think EA is very smart to not fall down with his abuse but to ignore him and live her life well. I think she still needlessly suffer and kisses his as# more than needed and clings to the point of pathetic, but considering her young age, she is doing VERY well.
EA is more the adult here. G has a lot more growing up to do.
Imo... The most fun scenario is that both G and SR go to NYC ... she starts school, settles, etc and G refuses to see her but she tries - maybe G will help her settle and that will get her hopes high, but .... G will not date her .. AND THEN IN A VERY FEW MONTHS, G DECIDES TO GO BACK TO EA and leaves SR alone in NYC lmao meanwhile MH goes out with someone else so SR cannot come back to him lmao
That would be hilarious karma
===== G, SR and MH have a LOT growing up to do :) I think EA is the only emotionally mature enough person here.
G has to learn about love and commitment...
MH has to learn to let SR go and not "protect" her from her own stupidities but to stand by her, provide advice, and let her fall if she really insists.. MH is like a helicopter parent, siding with SR in any stupidity she does, and "protecting"her from pain she SHOULD experience as the consequence of her stupid decisions... That makes SR even more stupid and entitled... . and SR needs to learn to get out of her mental obsession and into her heart and body. SR LIKES MH... she almost let MH kiss her!!!! yeah, she was ENJOYING his holding her and coming very close to her face to kiss her. She ENJOYS his company, that comes out when they play badmington. Then her mind kicks in and she pushes him. So.... Let go, SR, Ten Minutes or Ten Years, let go - but when he matures enough. Not before then bc then he will be nothing but a Lapdog henchman.
minho is a total outdated moron .... he propose to a woman that she never dated him before ..?,, does he think…
he is soooo immature and also he is the spoiled brat, a mama/papa darling and also he is the Ten Minutes seducer ... He is overly confident for sure...
BUT at his core he is not a bad person and he really loves SR
he is not good for her bc he lets her get away with murder and he keeps "protecting her"
so perhaps she / he will find someone else OR grow up enough to be together
it looks like tomorrow ep55 ,, gyeol will kiss eunae . even if he do so , i am a bit cautious ... getting together…
G is a snowflake, a slippery rat, he will bail out again... he is too weak and keeps changing his mind and essentially playing with EA's heart and feelings... He is seducing her but has no intentions to stick around....
I think you're confusing "food matters" with "military life is easy."This is a drama about a military…
Of course food matters. That is obvious. A bunch of relatively young adult males physically active outdoors every single day 24/7 - that requires calories that count. Without good food, they are literally dead. Food is THE fuel for them and has to be good quality. And yeah one of the few nice things to look forward to.
I think you did not read my post correctly. I was addressing GOURMET FOOD
"Food matters" is a very different issue than GOURMET FOOD :)
and where did you get the idea that I ***dismissed*** the drama bc it advertises military? I mentioned all those things the drama exposes as the bad sides of military. yes the drama advertises for military and also exposes some of its faults that everyone knows about. The drama is not that stupid to ignore everything :) It would not be fun
Seems like you do not want to see any critique related to military :) Bye :)
Hey everyone! Can I ask a question? Am I the only one who finds Hyeon Jun annoying?
Of course he is annoying, pursuing Chloe as if he loves her but in fact wanting to own her, meddling where he shouldnt - grabbing Chloe although he knows she loves MJ.... He is conflicted about his mother, his father, and his "love" for Chloe, throwing his family for his obsession with Chloe, yet never doing anything real to care for her, and finally doing somethng bc she FORCED him to... and what they are doing is STUPID and he still dutifully goes along... and in all that. treating Adelle like it was a lollypop, totally oblivious to the company, employees, etc -
the only thing that matters to him is to grab his favorite toy, Chloe
And he disregards that Chloe lied, she said she will TRY to love him and she never did - she keeps pushing him away and being an abusive slave driver - and he eats that sh.t without a word... it is like watching a dog coming to his master and being beaten, over and over and over again...
HJ is a very pathetic character, very immature person, bc of his upbringing a very weak person, yet magically by a stroke of luck still an inherently a good person, but also a spoiled brat mama /papa boy, wanting to grab what he wants to grab.... and now finding himself up to his knees in sh.t he created with his entitled greed
SO YEAH HJ IS ANNOYING!!!! but also, you have to give credit to the actor for making you feel annoyed, that is good acting :) Imo that actor is becoming a star actor, the complexity of his acting is marvelous
Ok I can put it into one sentence what killed First Man: **** very few good dialogue scenes and almost no working out of internal conflicts. There is no character growth.**** That makes the drama flat and shallow and that is always boring. Most dialogue is about paperwork details of how to catch HJ gang or Ma gang. There is almost no DEEP dialogue
An example of a good dialogue scene that leads to working out the inner conflict and then character growth is Mophead Professor scolding BH and his mom about bothering the delicate HJ and framing her lmao he is speaking out of such deep conviction.... and then Mom and BH scene, Mom telling BH she has to let go and divorce the Dad, although she is so clingy and competitive and has to win. THOSE ARE RARE MOMENTS OF SELF REFLECTION AND CHANGE, SO LACKING IN FIRST MAN. And I bet perhaps the more experienced actors Mom and Dad made that scene :) bc it is too rare... and it stuff like that happens only with them. Imo their subplot story is the only one that has depth and change. Everyone else is about the same as they were in ep 1.
Chairman overcame some slimy and disdain but is more in the open evil, JH is more in the open evil, SH can speak, but really most characters are inwardly almost the same as in ep 1. There is no confrontation, nobody standing up to anyone, even when BH stood up to JM when he took her away from the wedding was just glossed over and JM stayed the same old parasite as before, nobody thinking to themselves (except Chairman) "omg I need to change". THERE IS NO CHANGE, NO CHARACTER ARC. EVERYONE IS FLAT AND STALE. That makes it boring.
And example of a deep meaningful dialogue scene in Pearl in Red is Jin Ju and HJ at the grave of her father and herself, and JJ telling HJ about the past and confronting his loyalty to his family and his lack of action, .... and then his reaction. HJ actor is making himself into a new star.
I am watching Pearl in Red right now and laughing how both of these shows are locking people up in basements ๐๐๐…
Pearl in Red is a very raw soap and it is clear from the start that the Chairman and his wife are serial killers and very primitive crude CRIMINALS. So - putting people into basements is a legit part of that drama. And it makes it such a raw soap.
Pearl in Red is quite crude in many ways, but on the other hand, a lot more sophisticated than First Men bc characters there are shown in their dilemmas and working them out, there is a lot more emotional work and communication shown through acting - the characters are CONSISTENTLY shown in struggle with their loyalties and trying to reconcile it with other ppl and the actors are ALLOWED to act it out - and it is NOT primitive yelling matches but very sophisticated deep dialogues - and so we got a new star, HJ actor - and also - despite all basements, NO bloody scenes - which makes the drama quite more sophisticated
First Man was a more sophisticated drama where the villains were more in gloves. HJ was ah so polished and Chairman Ma sat quietly on the side like a parasite, not moving a finger. Now we see him as the Gang Ma leader, beating ppl up in his basement. Oooook.... it could pass... IF the people were not beaten to bloody mess without water and food for days.... but the scenes in the last episodes are as if they were taken from say Made in Korea kdrama..... ... or Weak Hero... or something like that...
So First Man went totally out of character and became a thriller about two gangs trying to kill each other off
here he has perfectly nailed down acting like a sly smart old geezer
I should have recognized the eyes, that "I am cool" look
So that actor is 29 now and just going to military! wow. That is quite old for military service, isnt it. But he gotta do it before he is too late
