I just heard this ML actor has previous gloomy roles. I like this drama bc he shows a wide range of emotions, and so... I like to see him happy too. If he gets stuck in gloomy, I am out :) gloomy is boring. And...... this FL is not deserving of breaking his heart. She is so ... shallow... flippant and easily distracted. I really dont ship ML-FL at this point AT ALL.

It is a joint project between writer and actor - writer has the idea but actor interprets it :) We should ask both actually :) that would be super interesting to follow their process and reasoning

I do not have the time to watch ALL dramas, so I make choices... and I will drop any time ...
At this point I have no patience to spend watching hours of something that feels torturesome :)

Some dramas are quality and/or fun and I will wait through a dry spell or a nasty turn in the plot... and fast forward if I need to ... like... Haunted Palace horror or Bon Appetit food competitions...
For some dramas, I will watch and keep waiting for it to get better - like Crushology, or Eagle Brothers, or Our Golden Days, or Graceful Liar .... - and then DROP bc it becomes clear it is not going anywhere ...
For some dramas, I will watch bc I am curious about the concept, for example The Defects, S Line, Witch and then I might fast forward a lot through all the scenes like fights etc... and if I dont like the drama, I will just drop in quick to just to check what is going on... Witch was like that... or all those high school violence dramas, I wanted to know why kids rate those dramas 10 stars. I fast forwarded through the fights. In the worst case, I will read the plot online LOL
and for some other dramas, it is clear it is a no go - for example, The Twelve, or Confidence Queen, Burning Hearts, Genie, Love Phobia, In our radiant Season - now Dr. Shin - 10-20 mins of that is enough to tell me RUN.
At that point, I can decide to drop, OR watch it to find out why people were so hyped up about it and what kind of audience likes that?, or to study HOW TO KILL A KDRAMA lol which I did with The Twelve. I wanted to learn how an expensive, well advertised drama with a zillion fans all eager to watch - can flop so bad...
Or I might intentionally watch trashy drama bc there is something in it that I need to see. Sometimes I know what it is and sometimes I find out at the end. Like total trash Would you Marry me, and very local korean makjang Pearl in Red.

I watched some of Witch - maybe 1 full episode - and then I occasionally came back and .... fast forwarded a lot LOL and I never liked ANY of it. I was curious to keep probing to check it bc the concept was interesting, but ... the execution.. no thanks :)

So yeah I will form an impression of a drama real fast sometimes - some dramas you can just see a little bit and be sure NO THANKS... if camera is choppy, or dark, or it is hyped up vibe, or screaming Kardashians mess vibe, etc. It is like walking into a room and deciding if you want to hang out with those ppl or not - and you are totally FREE TO WALK OUT :)

Crushology 101 was total trash - I liked the idea and wanted to discover new talent and see new star actors coming up - and I did! the SML is an excellent actor and he moved on up to many more roles... I am pretty good at predicting new stars :) , so I watched waiting for it to get better and I think I dumped it finally toward the end.
So you dont remember correctly - I was quoting FL from Our Universe from Crushology 101 and Witch. She barely acted in Witch. In Crushology, her acting and the role irritated me and when she started the same acting in Our Universe, I was on high alert and getting more and more fed up with it, finally I just fast forwarded through her scenes.

Unrwitten Seoul I dropped after 1 or 2 episodes, definitely before this dude showed up in a noticeable way, If he was gloomy, that would definitely make me drop it LOL

I like him in this drama bc he has a range of expressions. If he gets too gloomy then I will be tempted to drop it :) First, bc it is just simple 1-sided acting, and second, this FL is not deserving of breaking hearts. I dislike this FL, too flakey, weak, easily distracted, and rather ... dumb overall. Just flits from one "interesting" thing to another. If they end up together, it will be a pity, imo

Yeah bc that situation almost never happens in real life, it is a FANTASY of so many women to have at least one nice guy chasing them, plus the drama feeds that delulu idea that a (very) faulty woman can be the center of attention of many nice guys.
THAT sounds more like mother or sister figure - or a skilled prostitute LOL or a very wealthy powerful woman or any woman of influence LOL

Bc I think she was beyond just nostalgic :) She was swooning - and also being pulled back :) that was what made it so powerfully interesting on the stage :) That tug of war, with her keeping her inner lover on the leash LOL She was LONGING for him and it was a lot more palpable and alive and "hot" than just nostalgia. If that dude magically turned around and said I AM ALL GOOD blah blah I AM SORRY I MISSED YOU BE MINE - hm... who knows what would have happened!!!! But he never did that and she was totally correct to WAIT for it.
At the end, remember their parting scene... ? He didnt want to say farewell and she offered her hand and looked him in the eye and came closer.

i just watched ep 4. FL chased him in ep 4 and he TWICE rejected her - first he hung on her, then he walked away. Only after she felt remorse and cried, did he change his mind and waited to meet her.
So dont worry, he is not a simp. He is very strong.
He also did not beg in ep 3 when she broke up - he just left her cold.

Where he is a simp is that he found nobody else in 10 yrs. THAT seems unrealistic

FL is very immature and shallow, and goes to him only if there is nothing more interesting... So they really shouldnt end up together bc she is just a weak person
but bc of sexism, kdramas have too many such FLs

yes FL is a very weak person, but the sexism loves such FLs and they are unfortunately so common :(
