this drama has the usual sexist ktrope reversed - FL is the cold egoistical brat and ML is a giving kind person. It is a lot harder to take a woman who is like that, bc that goes against our social stereotyping :)

A question about Korean business culture, about those scenes with elaborate business meals for power people: **** Does it really look like that "for rich and powerful" in real life in S.Korea or other parts of East Asia?

Can anyone WHO UNDERSTANDS THE KOREAN/ ASIAN BUSINESS CULTURE explain those elaborate business eating setups when power ppl meet in those fancy restaurants and there are like 1000 dishes on the table - there is no way they could eat all that... ? Or is there only a few bites for each dish, so it is possible to eat it all? D they take doggy bags...???? It doesnt look like it though... it looks way too fancy.... So the waiters eat it??? What is that all about?

I am asking bc I have never seen a power business dinner in Far East. So I want to know HOW REAL IS IT WHAT I AM SEEING IN THIS DRAMA?

Nothing wrong with that, Korean food is really good. It is what I would eat if I go to fast food at a shopping mall or airport, bc only Koreans will have greens, and real veggies, like seaweed, and stuff without greasy sauces. I know so many Koreans in real life, tons of them live in Hawaii and NYC, and everyone I have seen looks good. They eat well, they have good life habits, and it shows. Sitting on the floor is the best, keeps you healthy and flexible and in shape.
So yeah they can flaunt their food and lifestyle, it is totally appropriate :) IT WORKS VERY WELL. I would say Asia is the smartest in the world in terms of food and lifestyle and staying healthy and in shape

Oh this is interesting. Now I see why Ji Sung is a great actor. This is an amazing drama!!!! So many characters - all complex and acting very well - and a plot that is really a huge spider web, it is amazing!!!! this is an amazing thriller, all by talking and a tiny bit of action, no big $$$$ for special effects, this is just a mind chess game as ppl try to outdo each other. FABULOUSLY FASCINATING.

And I was thinking, ppl who do not have much logical brain power are not gonna enjoy this. bc it really requires some thinking ability to enjoy this.

When I started watching this drama, I did not like it. I did not like 1-dimensional "smirk jester superman" Ji Sung. I did not like that the plot was about doing stuff instead of character development and showing how ppl grew. Also "the doing stuff" seemed so ... well... rather trivial. OK let's catch some criminals..

BUT THEN - the drama took a U-turn and I was totally totally fascinated how clever that was!!! Ji Sung started acting his life and his own inner transformation, which is phenomenal acting. His "wife" too. Wow the wife is a very complex character... and that actress is just masterful in that role.... And the main villain too is complex and acted masterfully ....... There are so many warm tones with Ji Sung's family, his friends - the bulky guy, reporter, prosecutor, and another prosecutor - who might make a pair shortly LOL There are comedic moments and moments of "real life" relaxed warmth...

AND THE PLOT GOT SO DEEP. And the main villain turned out to be a very complex person, a real monster but with a trace of real good intentions. He is a monster but he looks so ... emotional in many ways. Also, they picked a very handsome man for that role and dressed him very well and that character has lots of smarts and lots of emotional expressions, which also makes it very interesting. That actor is masterful in that role..
and then the shadow government plot, etc

I am not sure if ep 10 and on are a little too rosey.... ? Our team is winning a little too easy? But it is ok :)

I am very impressed with the script, it was really a labyrinth that kept unraveling, very tight packing! the twist in unraveling are masterful! and I am very impressed with what this crew did with this script. Respect!!!!

I dont think he is gonna have TOO MUCH chemistry with her... she is a backstabbing snake and he cannot trust her... she is so spoiled entitled and ... a wild card... sure she crushes on him but ... her loyalty and integrity and overal character is a BIG QUESTION MARK

Yeah you are right. In some ways, this is very similar. However, the feel and execution is different. It is like having a love story but it is always different...
Here, there is a team of people, not only ML-FL and there are more characters and they are a lot warmer; there is more emphasis on good guys rather than the bad guys. In AML, we got to see the bad guys behind the scenes a lot. Here, we dont. We get to see ML's family and friends. Also, FL here is quite complex, that actress is AMAZING in this role. Also, the main villain here is very complex and has "good intentions" too.

Overall, this is a lot more complex drama with more warm tones, more characters, more plot - a LOT more plot!!!! the dialogues and then outmaneuvering each other.... and overall, more ... humane

I was thinking about this and the only way to have the cake and eat it too, i.e. keep both twins but avoid the pain of filming their scenes together, is to have one of them LEAVE.

yeah that seems the reason why one dies... but still, the plot is tricky bc .... Jang Mi's family will not have Jang Mi... so just tell them Jang Mi left to study in the USA? and fool CEO Cha with that too... ??? and how would the stupid Jang Mi pass as Seo Rim to the observant CEO Cha... ?.... how come CEO Cha would not know Seo Rim died... ??? it is tricky!!!!
The easiest plot is to let both of them live and collaborate and swap, but that is most difficult to film...
To think of it... they do NOT need to swap to collaborate :)

I never read those previews, so I had no idea that Seo Rim is supposed to die... WHY??? She just got the Chef... so sad he stays alone!!!!! And if she dies and Jang Mi jumps in, how would Jang Mi's family deal with her absence? She would say she left to study in the USA??? but what if they see her in Dream Hotel...?? how would she pass by CEO Chae and her family.... ??? Then Baek Ho loses the love of his life... and has to fight with the Chef....

that is all so sketchy...... in some ways, it is easier they switch, but that too is a can of worms, sunce CEO Chae wants to kill them both, most likely....

The most fun version is they swap and collaborate.
To think of it... they do NOT need to swap to collaborate :)

It would be so sad to see Seo Rim die... she is so fun! and does not deserve to die.... Jang Mi is so boring :)

I can see why drama would gain momentum if Seo Rim dies bc that is more heavy karma and more motivation for revenge...
also Seo Rim COULD become half villain and say to heck with Jang Mi and her family, they are cockroaches... there is NO REASON for Seo Rim to collaborate wth the stupid Jang Mi ...

and Seo Rim death would provide more opportunity for plot and Jang Mi acting, as she has to show the transformation from this dull stupid provincial girl into the more sophisticated clever smart Seo Rim...

and yeah, filming scenes with both twins together is tough....

still, I think both of them working together would be really fun :) and I am not fond of killing Seo Rim and everything that will come out of that, e.g. killing Baek Ho's love and killing Chef's only chance in life to break his cement walls. He already paired up with Seo Rim, who is PERFECT for him

Ok there is the reality, CEO Chae wants both twins kiled LOL and not everyone will get their true love and tragedies happen, sure, but ... Seo Rim is fun :) her and Chef is fun :) Baek Ho and Jang Mi are perfect too.

Well let's see what writers had in mind. I like what someone else here wrote - Seo Rim goes with Jang Mi's family into hiding, and Jang Mi takes Seo Rim's place. That seems very fun and reasonable plot. Then Seo Rim will ocassionaly come out of hiding to kiss the Chef, so he is gonna be confused when Jang Mi as Seo Rin is cold to him... I think Baek Ho will have to know about the swap and keep helping, and one day Chef will find out and join. Was it his car that had the camera when Dad fell... ?

I am glad you are asking, and I can see from your question how difficult it is for you to understand. But you are trying, so I will try to answer. Be aware that you will not be able to understand this until you relax your mind and listen quietly. It is difficult for you to see things as a flow and to see that opposites hold at the same time. Lomon was always handsome, that is obvious from the first second of the drama He is a pretty good actor too.
The fox was super bratty and annoying and has started to melt. That actress is a very good actress.

So a good actor can annoy you because they make it look real.
A good story has parts that are difficult.
As audience, you have to witness all that, and if the actors are good, you are pulled into it.

So the first question is - why do you think that I hated the drama? and why do you think that one positive comment means I suddenly like the drama?

I never hated this drama... The drama has its ebb and flow and some aspects I liked and some I disliked. This is not a perfect drama and can use improvements. But it is a pretty good drama!!!! I am definitely watching it and will not skip.

So for you, the main take is to realize that nothing is static. Even something that is good, can always keep improving.
And one trace of bad does not make a bad out of good... mistakes are ok... they are meant to be fixed... or just left...

you think like something is EITHER perfect OR bad. Heck no :) there is a whooooole area in between...

So you need to start thinking about that in between .... about fluidity..... about CHANGE..... about MOVING FORWARD IN IMPROVEMENT...

This is a classic way to supress people.... for example, you either know something and are good, and if you do not know it, you are automatically DUMB STUPID AND THERE IS NO HOPE FOR YOU... this way of thinking PREVENTS YOU FROM LEARNING... and that is precisely why it is promoted, to keep ppl down. So let's say you are a minority and you dont know this or that - and since you dont, you are dumb and there is no hope for you, so dont even try. This is a classic way to keep anyone brown away from studying and getting ahead in life.

Another way that ppl are brainwashed is to think that, if you are a friend, you will do ANYTHING your friend asked for. Heck no way. True friendship is to stand up to your friend and tell them when they are bsing or wrong. True friendship includes disagreement and honest discussion... and there is an art to that.... and skiilZ that most people do not have LOL Nasty people have convinced most ppl that being a friend means lying for your friend, hating ppl that friend tells you to hate, etc - always being 100% in BLIND agreement with the friend. HECK NO!!! that is being a slave, not a friend.

Now, for the "truth".... that is a skill too, how to be objective. There are practices to get better and better at that skill. You will learn those practices the fastest in Tibetan Buddhism, that is my conclusion after shopping around a lot :) The truth is hard to grasp as every person has their blind biases, however, ultimately, there is One truth that is objective, and it can only be grasped with the heart and mind working together.

BASICALLY what I am saying is that everything worth anything has spiritual roots, so it cannot be grasped with the linear mind, like you are trying to do with your question to me, which came 100% from that linear mind, which is very very limited. And there is nothing wrong with that. that mind has its use, it makes sure you cross the street on the green light only, and can calculate how much money you have in your pocket. It has its use, but it is LIMITED use.

So... since you asked about this, you expressed a desire to know, so I told you :) but it might be too much for you and you might be able to understand this only an eon later, but YOU WERE GIVEN AN ANSWER so there is no way you can go back to your old self :)

I dislike Ji Sung's "cool" poker-face actually jester-face acting like he is a jester in control, like an invincible JesterSuperman. HOWEVER, when he goees into acting for real and shows emotion or vulnerability, it is AMAZING, like scene drinking with his dad in ep 10. Amazing actor.
His ex is also an amazing actor. It will be interesting when BOTH of them act vulnerable in a scene, if that ever happens. I havent watched ep 11 yet

I have to say that the Main Villain Kang Shi Jin is a very handsome man who shows emotion, which really puts a twist on his villain-ness. That actor is an amazing actor and that role is super complex, as he is a monster AND also looks honest and vulnerable in some ways. Amazing acting
