true i agree with this. she is far better because she is courageous to actively assist. and is not a coward.. she would even take a sword to her neck if it means putting on an act with WS for the better good of the Xindu people. i really like this FL type, clever, courageous, calm, and also uses coy and charm as a weapon.

it seems Wei Yan just wants the Qiao out of the picture. he doesn't hate the Wei's, and finding out that he is actually half Bianzhou, i think. the spy servant keeps calling him heir? he wants to unite Bianzhou and Yanjun. and he seems to truly care for Wei Shao as a brother.

i noticed that too, but i liked it. gives more edge to his character.

in short, the Qiaos were playing safe.

i think it seems the Qiao are just not warmongers. They help other clans regarding supplies, irrigation, agriculture, etc. however, not with wars.
If they helped the Wei's during that time, they could lose and even their military is not strong. They chose not to intervene. And if they lost, they could get invaded as well.
However, Liu Yan really intened to harm people and is even using her and Panyi to accomplish his evil plan. She was at the scene during that time and has the means to prevent it. so she did. She still reflects the Qiaos as a peace loving clan.

i think his playboy reputation is an act. he is very cunning and clever for doing that, he hides his potential and eliminates suspicion easily. also his kinship with Wei Shao is an advantage especially if he just started to oppose the Wei clan. he's dangerous for that, and the only thing that can save them is if he still cares even just a little bit for them as a family.

it seems the book has a reincarnated storyline too.

he is creepy. he set his sights on her, he has many concubines and those concubines got jealous, one tattled about him to WS. what triggered WS jealousy and anger is finding out his brother is keeping a painting of XQ and masturbating on it. he's gross.

reminds me of Black, where the male lead is possessed by a grim reaper. the female lead there sees deaths instead of spirits.
in both, the main guy is actually the spirit (grim reaper, imugi), but he's using the body of an innocent guy who has a faint connection with the female lead.
also the sageuk aspect is akin to Alchemy of Soul's however that one is more of an idol drama.

I knew this show would be interesting, as when I had a trip to korea last month, the trailer for this show was all over the subways. However, i was scared with the horror theme, but turns out it's not that scary.

me too. they haven't resolved any cases yet totally in one episode. aside from the drowned ghost girl. she is still wandering about and didn't really get justice.
the 8 foot ghost seemed interesting. i bet it would be a past story connected to the previous king, grandmother queen or even the shaman grandma of yeo-ri.
however, they kinda killing the suspense. the villain being the nasty shaman, and the queen dowager are just in plain sight.
unless they put an end/conclusion to all the ghost/cases that were introduced. include the one legged, the drowned maid, and now the skull ghost, the whole plot would be mess. and they still have the major plot of Kang Cheol and his ascension mission.

it's Yeo Ri and Kang Cheol end game. even if this is not a HE story, the connection between them is much stronger than with Yoon Gap's. but since the actor for Imugi Kang Cheol is only a guest, it will definitely be Sun Jae as Kang Cheol. afterall, the real yoon gap's soul was already eaten or should have gone to the afterlife.
