I hope to see more of the highkey and lowkey (BL) vignettes for WWX Version 2 when that finally comes to pass.…
It's fully translated. The story ends officially at Chapter 113. The other 14 chapters are the bonus chapters and that's where the action - mostly - is, based on what's in Chapters 114 to 120.5.
Trigger warning: Those who are averse to BL and have not fled this thread are advised to NOT read the bonus chapters.
Re-watch the first 5 minutes or so of the 1st Episode where we could clearly see the devastation on his face,…
Glad that you agree, Chingu. Xue Yang is quite smexy.
:-p
I replayed the scene where JiangCheng came face-to-face with the newly revived WWX (in Ep 2) and could sense that JiangCheng really missed WWX and wanted him back; it is even possible that he did not really stab WWX as what we saw in Ep1 would imply.

WWX = Wei Wu Xian/Wei Ying aka the Yiling Patriarch. He came back after an intervening period of 16 years as opposed to the 13 (?) years in the novel/anime.
Yes, they are not going to go full-on BL but those of us dedicated enough to have read the novel would have a serious case of "confirmation bias". Much of the important pieces of dialogue are relatively intact in this adaptation (i.e. the "Scorched because of Mian Mian" arc) and would impute salacious intent when it is merely hinted slightly at.
In fact, the smutty chapters are mostly separate from the main plotline chapters. This has the potential to be good. I just hope they remember to do fan-service.
Lmao everytime I see the tag Bromance on a Chinese drama now i automatically think, this must have been an awesome…
I hope to see more of the highkey and lowkey (BL) vignettes for WWX Version 2 when that finally comes to pass. Right now, it is really tame. I am wondering if they are going to give a fuller JiangCheng bromantic arc when that happens. We'd see. Pile it on, I say.
tbh I wasn't sure i liked Lan Wangji's casting (specially since i'd been having a few people in my mind for the…
Re-watch the first 5 minutes or so of the 1st Episode where we could clearly see the devastation on his face, post-WWX's plunge.
Also, look out for other bromance pairs/trios in the form of MengYao-LanXiChen, XiaoXingChen-SongLan and JiangCheng who is basically the set of trainer wheels to WangXian.
Personally, I feel that the actors cast to play XueYang and MengYao exceeeded my expectations. XueYang's first interaction with WeiYing was somewhat flirtatious and needless to say, LanZhan was stoney-faced.
Trying to decide whether to watch this or not. I'm reading some of the comments and kinda confused tbh so is the…
You should give this a try if you really really really love the reverse harem trope (i.e. loads of Alpha Guys inexplicably love the same lass).
It's fantastical escapism if this is up your alley. In any case, if/when your brain cells scream out in pain, you can always drop this.
On a positive note, the ML looks mighty fine. He looks better with the hair up rather than down, though. Ignore the netizens who are calling him names, imho. The visuals w.r.t. RQ, RL, FC and WY are great.
If you think that he has it bad, RL has it much much worse from the women in her life:- Her "mother", aka RQ's…
JingChao is totally killing it here.
However, it is so repetitiously gut-wrenching that I have grown inured to it and am looking for something new, honestly.
To watch Cdramas, one must surrender one's brain to the clouds but sometimes, it just gets too ludicrous: have you noticed that the one who is poisoned (i.e. RL) is not too bothered by it while her men are literally hunting high and low to cure and/or suppress the poison?
Stopped at 44. Would be back for the latter part of 54 and then the whole of 55 until said episode where RQ expires.

Agree that FC is very pitiful and he just cannot win, no matter what he does. At this juncture, that's sunk and his destiny for the rest of the entire series.
The RL-RQ plotline/arc would only start @Ep55 and end soon after. This thing only has 58 episodes.
I think the same thing. It force to be couple like ahh she fall and he catch .... (many time, save scene included)…
I stopped at Episode 44. Am waiting for the RL-RQ plotline/arc to show up. Based on the trailers floating around on the internet, that would only happen at Episode ...

Doubt that there's a translation anywhere. Waiting for episodes is tortuous.
Especially when I just want to skip those filler/bloat plotlines/arcs. A such, I am going to drop this for now and circle back next Saturday when the third and fourth last episodes air.
The writer is so cruel to Fu Chou. He makes wrong choices in almost everything he does and everywhere he goes,…
If you think that he has it bad, RL has it much much worse from the women in her life:
- Her "mother", aka RQ's mum - Chen Yu, the friend that wasn't who literally threw her off a cliff - Her sister who - unaware of their relationship - kept getting her into trouble - YaLi, the ungrateful schemer - Ling Yue who is looking increasingly sinister. Kudos to the writer and the actress for nailing this. There's even a possibility that she framed the other maidservant who was sent away for spying in the earlier episodes while RL was still traipsing around as ManYao.
Just how much backstabbing does the FL have to suffer at the hands of women? That said, tis a drought where Cdramas that are fantasy/wuxia/xianxia flicks are concerned. Pity about Novoland.
Hiya everyone ... I think there's a misunderstanding here. I read @Abzzski's comment and my interpretation is that it refers to WY, RQ and FC and I kind of agree with it because all of them have been guilty of "morally-questionable"/inappropriate conduct.
We as the viewers know why they did the things that they did, though.
@chinesedramafan, enjoy the series! I hope this airs right to the end without incident.
fun fact: if it wasn't for Zhang Meng this drama probably wouldn't have happened. The actress read the novel 5…
If she's cognizant of the prevailing winds right now, she would increase the frequency of release of new episodes. Much like what happened with "Haolan".
If this turns out to be "Investiture #2", would she be able to face this with equanimity? Would we? We'd see.
I have an inkling that the drama might be better than the novel, based on the differences w.r.t. WWX 2 in the drama and the novel.
Happy watching!

Major props to the actor playing JiangCheng.

I doubt that fans would be satisfied with such crummy crumbs, though.

Leo's fans are going to howl, for sure.

HengXiang's daughter is very likely his child.
