Is the general the dead emperor's Illegitimate son ?
Wrong on many counts, chingu.
FC: Legitimate first-born son of the - not dead - Emperor. He's the son of the deposed - and allegedly dead - Empress who had a hand in the plot to murder Wu You's mum, methinks.
Somehow, I think that RQ's mum is not who she seems ...
As for the Emperor, there was this little vignette of him being pushed in a wheelchair past Wu You's cell and you could see his frozen grief-struck mien as he took in Wu You's bloody state. In Ep 35/36.
This is an absolute must-read. The trailers were disjointed and had me utterly confused.
Xu Qing's character stills are giving me serious Lady Mishil vibes (Ref: Queen Seon Duk circa 2009). I'd be looking out for arcs that involve her character as well as that for the character played by Angel Ou.
Are we finally going to get strong - albeit flawed - female characters at long last? We'd see.
I really hope that this is not a sad ending because am not sure how many gallons of blood our ML scoop out!...…
Sad endings are okay if done right. The best thing about this is the ML. I'd be sure to watch his next Wuxia outing and I hope that the FL acting alongside him then can pull her own weight. And not be tripped up by an awful script.
The FL has been utterly disappointing. She has a distinctive look and that's something in a business that is teeming with plastic-like clones. But if that is all that she's got, she risks turning into the Chinese Go Ara.
Her brother protect her with his own life and they are not blood related. His arc is the most heart breaking one
RQ's arc is the only one that I am interested in right now. It's sweet - a bit on the melodramatic side at times, I agree - and there's reciprocity. I can see why Leo's popular; he pushes all the right buttons for some of us. And no, I did not watch AOL and I have no intention of doing so. I am looking at him through a fresh lens.
In fact, I am dropping this in favor of Novoland: Eagle Flag starting next week ... because this arc is not here as yet ...
I do enjoy reading your comments here and at Soompi .. keep them coming!
27 and still isn’t great, huh? Someone told me to shoulder through 10 and it will get better, at this stage,…
#29 now. Nope. It does not get better. I put the blame for this squarely on the shoulders of the screenwriter.
The FL is supposedly a "Phoenix". Good news is that she is no longer a total weakling but has plenty of power - all delegated - now. C-suite executive in a "Wuxia" context does not quite cut it as progression, though.
If this were a reality show, this would be "Terrace House" where you just throw strangers together and observe them as you would observe koi in a pond.
Here's the link for the completed subs for ep 1: https://productiveprocrastination.site/2019/02/22/eng-subthe-legends-ep-1/I…
Thank you for all your hard work.
Could you help shed some light on how it is in the novel w.r.t. the following?
#1 Qin Qian Xian's love arc with Lu Zhao Yao/Lu "17", if any #2 Whether - in the novel - this goes the way of "Flame's Daughter", where the ML dies multiple times and is resurrected as many times?
Addendum: An idiosyncratic feature of this drama - each episode has a prelude that references something which…
I don't really think of them as spoilers, though.
With the story-telling as choppy and "somewhat incomplete" to-date , I am grateful for anything to fill in the many blanks, weird and non-chronological presentation of vignettes notwithstanding.
Good thing that we both understand Mandarin. If my grasp were any better, I would be at the Chinese sites. Alas.
I'm horribly disappointed, and I hated both characters by the end... can she stop playing the sad poor cry baby!…
@XingBack
You left out the part where he explored the dorm room and looked on in disgust before schlepping his very expensive - Rimowa? - hardshell luggage up the stairs to the 6th floor.
I know exactly what you are getting at. You aren't alone in feeling this way.
Which makes it really gross.
She sends her son's (i.e. RQ being Son#1) gf into the arms of her other son (i.e. FC being Son#2).
And that same gf had to be snatched from Son#2's half-bro? Woah.
Too makjang even for me. If Novoland were to start up next week, am dropping this.

You're welcome.
He's the enabler behind RL's public humiliation.
:-(

I feel the utmost pity for any Fantasy/Xianxia/Wuxia flick(s) with showtimes that intersect with this. They'd lose the fight for ratings, for sure.
Till next year ....

Soporific to the nth degree.
The MVs that have been released recently have been quite concerning .. gave me a severe case of deja vu.
In any case, Hwaiting!
Take care.

It's future-oriented, folks. Once you get the hang of it, you'd do fine.
Lastly, am glad that Dai Xu is here. He has more pizzazz than Xu Kai and XZY's uncle combined.
Whatever happened at the "Red Wedding"?
What is the real sequence of events w.r.t. the murder of QZY's dad?
Bai Lu's talents are wasted here. She can act circles around most. Xu Kai cannot match her star power, unfortunately.
And please take good care of yourself, @Erudite.

Thanks for taking the time to write this; hope that everything is on an even keel as you prepare to head out for your hols.
