I am sorry to hear of your lived experience and sincerely hope that you are on a firm road to recovery; didn't mean to minimize or school anyone on this. Floundering in a sea of unrealistic expectations (imposed by society as well as self) is something that I can identify with, though. Being East Asian, the road-map to coping is paved with terms like "Sampo", "hikkikomori" and "ohitorisama".
Watching K-dramas and C-dramas is welcome escapism.
To enjoy dramas more, perhaps you could focus on the little moments rather than on a macro-level. Plot holes and cardboard cutout characters are par for the course, unfortunately.
Uggggggh... Tired of these bad folk getting away with murder... The crazy chicks from Yihua Palace. Jiang Biehe…
I, for one, am glad that they updated this. "Self-harm as a coping mechanism" is a serious and insidious mental issue that afflicts many. Except that they usually self-harm with shaving blades rather than pins.
Chinese c-dramas are not known for their social activism: I was surprised when that scene came up. It was a "blink unthinkingly and you would miss it" teachable moment.
Or perhaps this is just my woke westernized sensibilities talking.
After you have seen Episode 32, you would understand that his IQ is not exactly in the single digits range.
Yes, I stand by what I said. And last night's episode bears this out. It's a pity that the Yihua sisters were only given (more) screen-time now that we are in the home stretch/straight.
They have much more screen presence than the "pretending to be thespians" idols invading our screens in almost every production.
Ageism sucks.
Last 3 episodes to go before my wuxia drought hits. Which means that I can only fall back on c novels soon.

I am guessing that you are saying JiangBieHe as well as junior? My reasoning is that the second YanNanTian is just someone pretending to be him. As such, he was making the same mistakes as YanNanTian in his own capacity as the imposter. Can't put that on YanNanTian's tab.
This is eminently watchable once YanNanTian reappears ... and TieXinlan bows out temporarily ... the siblings' interactions are pure gold.
Unfortunately, the boys are doing all the heavy lifting here while the ladies are just generally meh.
That said, SuYing is a vast improvement over the insipid and vapid TieXinlan. She's just a bit too ditzy at the moment. I wouldn't even blink if she were to whip out a guitar and sing "Smelly Cat" just like Phoebe of "Friends". Her loopy indie vibes are pretty strong, imho.
I don't like the cast but I will give it a chance for the sake of the main leads to develop their character. The…
Agree. I fast-forward all scenes without the main leads in them. Even those filler scenes with JiangXiaoYu too. But never scenes with HuaWuQue.
Imho, the thespian playing HuaWuQue has the visuals as well as the fluidity of movement to inhabit and nail this role. Some folks are distracted by his "scandals" but c'mon, anything between consenting adults is no one's business but theirs. Unless, of course, it is against the law(s) of the land.
Am sticking around a bit because Ever Night 2 is not taking.
Allen Ren has strong stage presence and is pretty much the only reason I am still here.
This is the 1st time that I have seen him in anything so that is not a fan thing.
That said, I would likely drop this in favor of something better when/if it comes along and furtively FF through the episodes I have missed just to watch the omnipotent ML succeed.
Some folks hate OP heroes/heroines. I absolutely adore them. Am a simpleton in that way, I guess.
Well, while I was willing and ready to accept the change from Arthur Chen to Dylan Wang as Ning Que for season…
I'd still watch the 1st few episodes ... will give this a chance. If this does not take, there is always "Handsome Siblings" over at iQiyi to keep me entertained.
This drama tugs at my heart. It explores marriage, affairs and different aspects of relationships. It explores…
It sure does. I am here again in 2020, which says a lot about its rewatch value. Were you able to watch this online here? Weirdly enough for me, it does not work.
Reality check - We'd only be getting 4 episodes (11 + 12 + 18 + 19) in January 2020 because:
Seollal 2020 (i.e. the Korean/Chinese New Year) falls on 25th Jan 2020.
We wouldn't be getting any on 26th either.
Folks at Soompi reminded me of this and I checked Netflix which informs me that the 11th episode would happen 1st February but the status for the rest? "Coming in February".
What?!!!! My wait is now TWO weeksssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss? While I can understand the reason behind the…
I know. Folks used to watching flicks on Netflix are quite used to binge-watching good dramas (and sometimes blah ones when we are really bored) and find this kind of news harder to bear.
That said, micro-expressions would go haywire when the thespians are tired. So, the stop order is a must.

While I can understand the reason behind the move, lots of us fans are going to feel that we have been left high and dry heading into the new year.
I am uber disgusted with LiangJingMeng/DingNing because he knew that YeCeLeng was going to go all kamikaze and…
I'd have to agree with you. The wheels have started to fall off ...as they usually do towards the end of things.
That said, it's not the worst that I have seen or chosen not to see. Case in point - TROP: I stopped at the rapey scene that was somewhere in the last few episodes. Couldn't get beyond that.

Some of us are just simple or yearn for something that's pure; in this new decade, I have decided to be kinder to others and to myself.
Hope this lasts. Lolz.
p.s. You are never too old for ducklings ... and tomato plants tied with little red bows ...

1. Did not stop it
2. Failed to assist
3. Was blase when he knew that she was gone as she intended
Gosh.
Unless the subsequent episodes show that it was all faked, this is a major blip that mars the good impression that I had of the man.
