I'm half way through ep 16, it's excruciating, but fantastic, amazing, extraordinary. I had to pause it for a while. For anyone who's been through this type of thing, ie the death of a loved one...much affection to you all. This is soooo well done. It does rank with one of the best kdramas I have watched. There is no doubt this drama will win a heap of awards, IU and Park Bo Gum, just speechless with praise. All the rest of the cast same!!! What a production, amazing from every point of view, cinematography, direction, wonderful, wonderful fresh script, fantastic story

Not sure why they positioned this show in Florence, the heart of philosophy, architecture, sculpture and painting, while the contestants earnestly chat about their bangs, Hawaiian pizza and take photos, while saying it's lovely, it's lovely, They may as well have placed this in Jeju, except that Woo Jai would not be able to show off his Italian. It's nice that they find quiet introverts charming and adorable, when in fact they're pretty dull. It's also amazing when you look at the average person in the streets of Florence, tourists and locals, do not look dressed up, or particularly happy. It's good editing how the Korean couples really stand out, with their nice coats. Having said all that, and given that the show is 90% acting, it's still fun to see who matches with who!
The way they mix dramatic, extreme events with hilarious trivia just cracks me up. I am such a huge fan of Japanese humour, like Quartet! The acting is sublime, the three, or four women and Takahashi, the sauna, what they order, the quibbling, the friendship, it's so quirky and yet subtle. I love it!!!
Aw...cute ending. Love conquers all!! I love one of the above reviews who outlined what was being looked at in this drama - jealousy, witch hunt mentality, displaced blame, ignorance, gossip, fear, and the potential healing factor of love. I don't think viewers were finally presented with a logical explanation at all, though this was suggested at the outset as a possible statistical/probability solution. I would have loved the latter as a narrative, but that was not to be. I feel the ending was a bit rushed, and it was cute they went to Austria to fulfill her dream, their dream, but can't really see why they had to go all the way to Austria really. I agree that the repetition of scenes was too much thank god for FFing. I think the cast did a great job, kudos to them. I enjoyed it!
This director is the master of examining organisation/business transactions from different perspectives, economic, social, and personal, all driven by differing motives, greed, revenge, attraction, ego, competition. etc. I'm loving this, it's so well researched, and I can't wait to see what transpires. It's excruciating to watch people being screwed over and manipulated. But part of the game. He often uses the same actors in his dramas, I love it!
In general I like Avenue X a lot. She never shies away from giving her pov. She's often unpopular for the same reason people argue on MDL, because she doesn't just hesitate to be critical, and discuss drama short comings shit or bust. She has a lot of technical know how to back her case, but a lot of people can't stand to have their fav dramas dissed. I'm lucky because I often agree with her ahaha! And if I don't I really don't care because I enjoy hearing her critique.
I did love this drama! Mainly for the fast pace, amazing special effects, great narrative, and wonderful acting all round. I was hooked every night to watch the next ep. especially the lead up to the SCC and TQ getting together, and all the chaos getting there. It really is a unique experience for me in terms of Cdrama, very, very funny script. Clever references to other material, writers, and previous dramas LYF etc. It was complex and quirky. Haven't seen this before in Cdrama and I think the entire crew deserves accolades and hopefully awards for their achievement. For me only down side was the final eps. where extraneous plot details were added. The FL and SFL started as pretty strong characters, although each with their respective background issues (trauma) etc. It was a shame for me that the drama ended with their confrontations of their past issues, and they kind of got saved by the guys, as per usual. So the female leads ended up more vulnerable and kind of weaker than how they started. None of the guys had to confront their past issues, in fact GY's life was not really fleshed out in great detail. We do hear a little about his life in ep 32, and he is a compassionate love of animals. In fact he was really mainly a support character for TQ and LY. TQ's background is all hunky dory as far as the viewer is concerned. Moreover, as for the 'beauty is only skin deep' theme, which is a great theme in my book, all the actors were totally gorgeous, so even if SCC was worried about her crappy family message re her looks, she is extremely pretty IRL. So she really had nothing to be concerned about, actually. It was mainly the stupid parents who drummed this idiotic message into her. However it's, a good theme to send out to drama watchers, considering a lot of dramas really do emphasise physical beauty, even if they pretend they don't.
Just finished watching all episodes! I wouldnt say I loved all the episodes of today, becos it was dragged eventually…
I kind of agree. There was a very fast momentum of comedy, drama, fantasy, novelty etc up till about 26, where they SCC and TQ finally got together. Then after that it was kind of serious and slower, it lost the pace. I think they could easily have finished earlier. I don't really see the need for the pregnancy thing. But still loved this show and stunned at the special effects, acting, narrative. It really was a fresh, innovative drama, with a good message. Although ironically, all actors are totally gorgeous despite the 'you don't have to be beautiful' idea, they actually are. lol
Congrats to Tan Jianci ππ»ππ₯³Tang Qi's character popularity value breaks 100 million!Double the popularity…
Agree, fantastic actor. Because it's a light fluffy, (mainly) drama, it's hard to identify how good he is. He has amazing control of his features and responses. Wonder what he'll do next??
