I mean she's not /bad/ but I just don't find her as great as the drama obviously wants us to find her.
Yes, I listen to a LOT of R&B etc, I'm pretty familiar with some of the best vocalists, bands, etc not necessarily Kpop just really good musicians like ZionT, George etc. and I've noticed that they like the female vocalists airy, and light not like say Aretha, that kind of powerhouse voice. You're right they could have dubbed in some kind of really excellent vocalist, if she's really not that great, for the sake of the story.
Production companies in SK were have a hard time financially in part b/c lead actors/locations etc etc were so costly and other factors, so they started collabs with eg. Netflix to appeal to a wider audience, make a lot more money, pretty much dilute their content, copy/paste and rely on idol good looks/charisma rather than phenomenal narrative, scripts, cast. etc. Having said that, I still think some Kdrama over the last few years are pretty good, compared to western drama where I have a hard time finding a really good one. I think The Glory, Hyena, World of the Married, When Life gives you Tangerines, My Liberation Notes, Little Women, Love to Hate You, Our Blues, Military Prosecutor Doberman, Crash Landing were all pretty good.

It's interesting I've listened to a lot of female Korean vocalists/singers and they tend of have soft, throaty, gentle sounds, they rarely belt it out like eg. American vocalists, where the voice is powerful and seems to come more from the chest, I think that might be a Korean thing, not sure.
So agree, LXY is a phenomenal actor, just finished A Moment But Forever, and his acting was totally amazing. (as…
I thought it was fantastic. Every character is super strong and developed, the special effects are amazing. The plot is complex, and politics are hard to follow sometimes, but overall I really loved it.
LXY is such a good actor and Iām praying to the universe he gets more recognition and better scripts because…

If you look at this as pure entertainment, ie as in a kdrama masquerading as a reality show is makes more sense. You don't necessarily look for love and marriage by participating in a show going from a fantasy beginning in Tuscany to Seoul. But it is very entertaining and all the participants are very talented and attractive, as in a drama. I'm sure also for the entrepreneur, the painter, the dancer, and the aspiring actor/model this kind of global exposure can't hurt. The painter/model from Heart Signal 4 did extremely well if you follow him on insta. As a character in a narrative, I'm not really getting Jayeon, she seems to have had deep connections with Jimin, that is now being replicated with SY. Was she being love-bombed by Jimin and politely went along with it, but quietly not interested. She's so inscrutable that it's hard to tell. It just feels like a contrived love triangle to intrigue the audience. The over focus on her relationships and the glamour of her dates (ice skating, glamping) show the production team feel they're getting most audience response from that. I'm also not getting why a 40 year old pilot, with massive professional experience in travel and business should get so anxious and weird when meeting a new girl. Admittedly she seems attractive and pleasant, but it an unexpected reaction. Is he just hyper sensitive, when he found out the age difference between him and JW, he just appeared to run away, from the shock lol. It seemed awkward a bit contrived to me. Suddenly she appeared to be a contender for a relationship with him, don't get it. One more random comment, these people do not stop eating, I guess the food/restaurant thing has massive audience appeal, but I would have gained 6 kilos by now. JY and SY stuffing their faces with sausage in the car was hilarious. I agree with everyone about the Chae Eun/CY couple, they look deliriously happy, but then he said something weird during the boys discussion. I guess Lego just doesn't cut it. Anyway for entertainment value, I'm curious about who will pair off with whom.
"Na's beloved Uncle",??? thus far, and I mean ep 1, she seems to be pretty much on the spectrum and that is saying it mildly, no response, trauma, etc etc. I'm not really getting her at all tbh. I guess something will unravel as the drama progresses. Have to say that the graphics in the intro are spectacular, just watched some of ep 2, I feel this is going to be amazing.
As expected with this cast, acting on another level. No soft lenses, layered makeup, designer fashion, just sheer tour de force performance in the true sense of the art of acting. You simply cannot see either performer other than their character. LBH and YAI are simply extraordinary, it's not often we see this raw ability, the rest of the cast are fantastic. The timing, editing, script cinematography, accuracy of the place and time are phenomenal. I'm so glad we got to finally see this movie, what a relief to all involved that it has been so well received. I really love and respect YAI as an actor, he's always chosen challenging, fascinating roles and is in a class of his own. I hope he makes a comeback like Ju Ji Hoon, restores his health and happiness and is once again embraced back into the world of K cinema and can find his rightful place as one of the best contemporary Korean actors.
It would be very difficult for Man Li to accept Xiao Zhou. It appears she is cautious of public judgement looking…
Agree, they're similar in many ways, as in total upright, kind, fair and ambitious. XL being annoying for me is just personal, not keen on how he looks, dresses, etc and at this point I feel he's giving me the ick! But totally subjective feeling, As I said before I get why Wu Ya got fed up, he wasn't reading the room, he made stupid decisions based on ego, endless failed business deals, she couldn't see any future. As you say Man Li is a sucker for helping people, but she deserves a real romance with an equal partner...come on Mr Li lol!!
