Finally finished this and I enjoyed the story within a story. My only issue is that the ending seems a little rushed- it kinda felt underwhelming that thatās how they ended it. I donāt know. Maybe itās just me, but after all that drama for so long, this is a very simple cut off. I mean, I know the IMPLICATIONS of their actions are anything but simple, but it kinda feelsā¦just underwhelming for me.
I don't know, but I don't think it has to be a big deal. The sister could start to lose interest in her boyfriend…
True. Up to today, it really seems like she cares a lot about her brother and his happiness. And though she likes Soto, I think she doesnāt like him as much as her brother will when he admits his feelings. She may decide to support him rather than keep what appears to be a more superficial relationship for herself.
we've been following the evolution of their story since their escape to Thailand (and Malaysia) i have to constantly…
It does seem like it in some cases- with some censoring to keep from being banned by their government like Yibo and Zhan- especially since fans went toxic. I honestly think the same level of toxicity hasnāt happened for other mainland Chinese CPs yet because the inundation of BLs from there that we have had- though RLs couple seems to have either fallen victim to the censorship or maybe just stall parted publicly after the promotional period ended. Unlike ABO actors- who are in a unique position as theyāre being marketed as a group instead of CPs by the rich and powerful sisters. Though Chang Xi and Yan Zhao still post content past what I would have assumed to be the end of the promotional period. Same for Ayden and Elio- I think they are an exception partly because Ayden is Singaporean. I wonder about Kuma and Jing Yu- Some of these CPs are VERY comfortable with closeness (again, I always keep in mind that they are actors and what they show can be pre-agreed promotional content mixed with genuine friendship after weeks of filming such emotional and intimate scrnes.
Either way, I will enjoy with a grain of salt and giggle š¤ behind my hands as long as theyāre willing to share š

Oh most definitely no rely! Theyāre super cute on lives. I have to remember that these are actors though. And their job includes promoting their series. At some point, they move on to other projects and this content fades- unless theyāre Thailand CPs. Ironically, itās the Thailand CPs content I trust the least.

Iām kinda jaded over the āare they, arenāt theyā atp tbh. I know it can happen, like it did for the MLs in Secret Lover, but not often. So I try to measure my belief- especially when it involves actors from mainland China.
THIS f**king show! I paused at ep5 to wait until all episodes aired and damn am I glad I did! Iām on ep8 and what a wild ride it has been. Iām glad I donāt have to wait a week to see what happens next. The story within the story is really well done- from the writing to the acting- šš½šš½šš½Iām really impressed with the whole concept.
Random thought posed from my bl-loving heart: what if itās a story within a storyā¦within a story š jkā¦maybeā¦. š¤š¤« I know Ollie and Shu Yuan are just acting. Yet and still, I can imagine, canāt I? In a non-toxic way, of course. šš½š«¶š½
I will say, Dan was m.i.a this whole episode; so that does give him room to do stuff behind the scenes for it…
Abaolutely. Dan is mad sus and I know heās just plotting away in the DL, just manipulating LJaneās life so he can come in and āsave the dayā to show LJane how much better he is than BJane. Iām wondering- is this the end for Put? Thatās crazy if so. I hope he made some miraculous recovery so he can learn from his error. Iām sure he didnāt get to say what he wanted to say about BJane- and I doubt it was to identify him as the sports car driver. But I can see Dan being pissed at Put putting hands on LJane and deciding to take the opportunity to take him out- and bonus if he can pin it on BJane. Since he knows LJanw is easy to manipulate/influence against BJane with circumstantial āevidenceā. Iām convinced Dan has money and is closer to BJane than heās let on. A family member or once-close friend from the same social circle.
I really need to read the novelā¦
(I read Bittersweet Loveās novel too and am now waiting to watch until all the episodes are out.)
on the contrary, when you are deep in love is when you are bound to question and suspect more in a relationship…
I think the intelligence comes from those who are able to spot the red flags, not those who are the red flags.
Red flags are so labeled due to their behaviors- or, personality traits-, not their intelligence factors. Manipulation tactics, lack of empathy, and bad behavior donāt require superior intellect. Red flag behavior can use simple manipulation like lying, guilt, and yelling to get their way. They donāt care if they hurt others, and often act on selfish impulses rather than some āmaster plan.ā
Though a red flag can definitely have higher intelligence and unlock the ānext levelā with subtle gaslighting and using a personās secrets against them in a subtle and inescapable way. BJane has already gone through a US Ivy League psychology program so has rhat higher level of intelligence to use psychology to get what he wants. He does gaslight LJane regarding this favor contract hustle he has, sure. LJane is a red flag with lower intelligence because his behaviors are wildly impulsive and repetitive- he repeatedly accuses BJ without waiting for facts. He uses friends to lie to him and get him to leave him alone (Dan as a bf- also not caring that this hurts Dan because he actually doesnāt like him like that). I wouldnāt say that LJane doesnāt have empathy- he just has it misplaced- or incomplete understanding of what is going on. Heās way too impulsive and it keeps biting him in the ass. But his impulsive behavior hurts others, and he doesnāt seem to learn from it- instead, he blames others for what he has caused (main victim being BJane) and repeats these harm-causing behaviors. For 6 episodes so far.
(My apologies for the long reply- the psychology degree comes out of me sometimes-ironic, I know.)
The temptation to try to find an English version of the book is high for me right now. But I have SO many dramas to catch up on (Deep In, being one of them- I put it on pause to wait for the last episode to air, and several other C and K dramas that recently ended).
What frustrates me most is how much LJane jumps to conclusions and always assumes the worst in BJane. So damn frustrating. How tf you say you love him but wonāt even try to trust him? Like, he could have ASKED. Yes, he lives a dangerous life that he chose, but so far has killed zero people. So Put would be the first? Doubt it. And if you REALLY believed he did it, how could you sleep with him one last time? On the same night your friend- who you think he killed- died! Thatās some twisted shit, I donāt care how much you you try to dress it up. This is why LJane is an even bigger red flag than BJane to me.
As for who did it? Iām going with Dan. Because I canāt stand that guy. Iām sure heās behind all the bad things that have happened to LJane- a theory, but I feel heās two-faced and actually the most twisted of all. Heās the one who has everyone fooled. He gives Ted Bundy vibes.
That letter made me tear up. Damn. LJane is gonna regret the hell outta his impulsive judgements.
Either way, I will enjoy with a grain of salt and giggle š¤ behind my hands as long as theyāre willing to share š
