That is why I prefer (so far) the 2nd couple (why do they have so little screen time? š). Yes, he lied about…
While Hua Yong met him once for a short time 15 years ago, heās always been watching him since he became an adult, but especially since he took over the company and renamed it in honor of Sheng. Heās been observing him from a distance since that time and his feelings had only grown from a possessive obsession to true affection (for him) from there. Both Hau Yong and Gao Tu are obsessed with their love target. They just express it differently because of their own backgrounds and status in society.
Hau Yongās suppressant use isnāt with malicious intent to me. He knows Sheng wonāt be interested in him if he isnāt like the 32 orhers. He wants to be what Sheng is attracted to and goes through whatever to get there. But his nature is enigma, so he has to learn how to be vulnerable- or mimick it at least. Gao Tu has to mimic being an average beta, even though hes an omega. I think the differences between them as I stated before still stand. Both want their alpha, and do things to be close to them that are not true to themselves, and in the process they are hurting themselves and lying to their alphas. One just has more confidence than the other due to their nature and backstory. Many tend to lean toward the one with less confidence. I lean to the one with more. By any means necessary to get your man!
I think we've been a few commenting that he is too manipulative. I personally can't father how their relationship…
While I agree, and believe that things will become more clear as episodes progress, I also know that there are things in text that just canāt be done in live action due to timing. Monologues and descriptive text donāt always make it in, despite best efforts. So far theyāve been pretty true to the novel and the characters, except for that childhood scene. Youāll know soon. I do agree that allowing Sheng to believe he was repeatedly sexually assaulted by many alphas is cruel because Sheng is really a soft-hearted guy and actually cares about this little pure and innocent āomegaā.
I think we've been a few commenting that he is too manipulative. I personally can't father how their relationship…
If you read the novel, youāll know how. I donāt want to spoil it because I can say that he is absolutely authentic when he talks about or to Sheng about how he feels about him. Heās not lying about that at all. Heās 100% down bad for his alpha. Unequivocally.
That is why I prefer (so far) the 2nd couple (why do they have so little screen time? š). Yes, he lied about…
The lying Gao Tu is doing to be close to Shen isnāt that different in my opinion. Heās ends up seriously hurting Shen without realizing it. I think we accept it more because his lies are physically hurting himself and Shen said some mean af things to him so he ādeservesā our pity. He looks pitiful: heās a poor omega with zero self-confidence because of his motherās warnings so he thinks he canāt do much to change Shenās view of him, despite his steadfast hidden love. Hua Yong is a rich enigma- top of the food chain, so we psychologically lean toward acceptance of the pitiful one. Hua Yong and Gao Tu are similar to me. Shen is the way he is because of events that happened on his childhood. Heās actually pretty pitiful but hiding it behind this facade because heās an S-tier alpha so society expects something from him.
Hua Yong is also hurting himself by overusing the suppressants to be like an omega for Sheng. Thatās why he passes out at the end of this episode. He uses significantly more (and stronger doses) in a short period of time because heās so strong. Yet his scent still comes through- just more gentle, mimicking an omega. His natural scent is oppressive/intense. But the effects are just as bad for his system as the long-term suppressants Gao Tu has been taking for 10 years.
And yes, Hua Yong absolutely knows significantly more about Gao Tu than Shen. His cover story is basically Gao Tu. In the process of taking his back story identity, he makes sure Gao Tuās sister is taken care of. Heās actually really kind to Gao Tu in the novel- in his way. He also passively tries to help Shen take the blinders off so many times. Shen is ridiculously one-sighted. For a ridiculously long time.
Iām a little surprised that no one here seems to be bothered by the trauma bonding. Itās so extremely manipulative!…
Heās manipulative as hell. But Iām actually here for it so it doesnāt bother me. Itās not reality anyway. I read the novel so I know how it all goes down- text wise. His scheming is actually quite intelligently done to achieve his prize. Yet even though heās manipulating everything, he genuanely cares for Sheng. His love isā¦intense, but his childhood is to blame for that in part. Him being an enigma is also to blame in part. When heās sharing his feelings about or with Sheng, heās being 100% authentic.
Not too much. Itās more of a set up episode for the next one, I think.
Just that not much is happening- to me. itās like a detail paragraph in a book where thereās a lot of explaining about things. I think thatās why there arenāt many comments on it.
Why are these episodes SO SHORTš«š«š« Another week of waiting. Iād love to be able to wait until itās all done, but Iām not that patient. Waiting a week is already stretching my endurance! They really know what theyāre doing with these ending points each episode. Still, why no 2 episodes a week? š«BTS clips only take us so far. š®āšØ
OMG the BTS scenes are so cute. š„° Theyāre very natural most of the time with each other, which is fun to see. This is why their chemistry is so good onscreen. All I gotta say is 6 people in a stall is crazy! Puts a whole new perspective on that scene. š¤š¤« Srill love the hell outta it though š¤š«
I love watching Takara-Jun and Amagi-Jun too! Great show to go back to! I always love the hidden meaning of Japanese…
Iāve seen it well over 30 times in the last year alone. Just a feel good drama that always makes me smile. I wish they made a S2 with them post high school.
Japanese BLs. You either enjoy the ākawaiiā or you donāt. I enjoy it. (Takara-Jun and Amagi-Jun is still my #1 rewatched drama.) Thereās always an underlying point theyāre targeting throughout the series. In this, itās self-acceptance. There are a few JBLs like this- self-acceptance in the face of realizing you are ādifferentā than what society expects of you. How these two grown men handle their own acceptance of who they are is revealed episode by episode.
At first, it seemed like in E5 had at least Kanade accepting himself fully, but heās still not quite there yet and it shows in his awkwardness with Mashito and others. Mashito is still dealing with his struggle of not overburdening Kanade- this is largely him being overly self-conscious of his behavior due to his overbearing and emotionally manipulative mother. His issue is breaking free from her smotheringly manipulative hold over him, which affects his relationship with Kanade. It makes sense that theyāre not suddenly healed of their past experiences forming who they are and how they interact with others and especially with each other.
I only wish weād get more episodes a week or longer episodes. With the opening and ending credits, the episodes are a little over 20 minutes. š„ŗ Next episode looks interesting though. š
OMG Iwase Yoji and Mashiko Atsuki together in a quasi-bl series? I'm HERE for it! I've watched both of their BL series countless times. While watching E1, I find that I have an aversion to the Minami character. I hope she improves that personality as the series progresses.
"Side Story" seems a bit misleading. More like "Part 2" or "Chapter 2". They really could turn this into a full length series. I think more background on our MC teacher is needed. And what happens with the 1st guy? And this guy? Does he also ghost Student 2?
Nevertheless, this continuation gives our MC more depth and a little more emotion than a robotic teacher. I hope they do more "side stories" to answer some of my/our questions.
They probably already had a release contract with the platforms. I don't think they can renegotiate that easily.…
I think we will be able to finish watching this series. It's doing well on GagaOOLala. I don't think either ABO Desire or Revenged Love will be pulled from Gaga. China has probably done all it can do to stop this series. Won't stop their citizens from accessing the series through illegal channels though. People always find a way as long as production continues and episodes release somewhere.
I'm a RL fan but didn't buy into the whole nepotism that a few were throwing out with no evidence. Most of us…
I posted in one saying it wasn't my business. Still people were replying to me to try to convince me that it somehow was important that I knew or whatever. I maintained that I was just there for the series, rumors be damned! (I'm from the USA, so something like this is nothing to us compared to some of the other craziness that IS substantiated by facts with our celebrities (*cough, Diddy, cough, Bill Cosby, cough cough*) I doubt it made an impact because people like sordid and unsubstantiated rumors. It's crack for them. I can equally enjoy and support RL, ABO Desire, Secret Lover, and Promise of the Soul with zero hate to any. These fandoms are crazy with their stanning. Can't we like more than one thing? Why is everything a competition?
