I just completed this and I gotta say, I was entertained. I loved the character development and the cases. I loved how the team became more of a family unit, and how they worked well together. Of course, the tension to friendship to brotherly bond growth between Du Cheng and Shen Yi was worth the watch alone. There were some iffy BL-esq parts that my BL heart was enjoying very happily in its delulu land (the shooting range scene, for one).
But aside from that, my absolute fave was Shen Yi. His growth, artistic talent, and quiet brilliance was truly a pleasure to watch. I’m looking forward to diving into the more even more psychological S2 (or so I’ve gathered from the comments). The ending for S1 had me like?! If it weren’t almost midnight on a Sunday night before an early wake-up, I’d be diving in already. Tomorrow will have to do. Thankfully, I have a 5 day break coming. 😊
I need him to get “caught” by someone. The “inevitable-ness” of the BL world. Today’s episode, while entertaining, had almost zero plot progression. 3 more episodes to go…
You Shu Lang is a top for Zhen, but there’s no way Xiao Fan’s personality will allow him to bottom for Shu Lang so… I’m pretty confident that Shu Lang’s gonna learn to love bottoming for Fan. 🤭
What I found interesting in E4 is that Shu Lang knew his hand was moving, knew it was moving south under the blanket, yet he WAITED until he touched "it" before he reacted. Me thinks someone protests too much...belatedly at that. 😉

Impulse control melts faster than Watarai after Hioki 👅 his cone 🤭🫠🤫 I read the novel and I’m happy it’s following with all the important scenes. Next week is gonna be crazy. I think that’s why Fan Xiao is so attracted to him- that hidden side is irresistibly alluring to Xiao. He is drawn to the dichotomy in You ShuLang’s personality.

I was fully entertained for all 24 episodes. Can I say that the plot had me wondering what our villain would throw at our heroes next? And speaking of heroes, damn! I was entranced every time Zheng Ye Cheng came on screen. Damn, but he’s good looking. It’s all in the eyes for me.
The twists kept coming nonstop. Like, seriously. For a short 24 episode cdrama, they packed in a lot. I appreciate them not dragging everything out but maybe a little more character building with a few more episodes would have been ok… Like, 4-6 more- especially to build the relationship and eventual divide between our MLs? And the Yun brothers? The deep devotion they had for each other needed a little more to understand their choices and actions/reactions. Just my opinion. I still enjoyed myself without it. Shinyi and Dao’s on screen chemistry was good. They work so well together that I had to see if this was supposed to be a “same sex censored adaptation” tag. Imagine my surprise when seeing that it’s…not…? Could have fooled me. Their brotherly love is sus af imo. 😉
