I love the dynamics of the Ban family. I’m only on episode 18, but their interactions are entertaining. Ban Heng is the carefree type I love- reminds me a bit of Baili Dongjun from the early episodes of Dashing Youth (minus the copious consumption of liquor). Ban Hua is sometimes amusing, sometimes unbelievable in her actions. I like her less than her brother- not really rooting for her or against her. Ring Xia I love, though I’m trying to see more of this intelligent strategist that peaks out every once in a while. That easy confidence I love from HMH’s characters. I absolutely dislike Feixian. She’s too much. If it’s between her and Hua, I’m rooting for Hua all the way, just because Feixian is annoying as hell. Clingy and clearly missing all the signs that someone isn’t interested. Obsessive and possessive females- I dislike this archetype so much.
All that being said, it’s getting a little harder for me to cruise through each episode non-stop. The fact that there are 40 episodes is kinda unbelievable for me. It feels like 24 would work fine. I can’t imagine how they’re gonna weave this story more.
I love this drama so much. I can’t move on. I wish they had a second season, but understand why they’d end it with the special episode. Still, my greedy little FoF fan heart wants more, especially of ZYZ ❤️
Yet another drama from HMH that leaves me in my feels. It gives Fangs of Fortune all over again. And I’m one to keep rewatching episodes and scenes from FoF because I can’t let go. I’m holding off on Glory until it’s almost done so I can binge through the episodes in a couple of days. I hope it gives more LITC or BFTB than FoF and this one because I need it.

No worries! I’ve actually just started getting into Cdramas in the last few months, so haven’t really seen that many. The episode runtime and count were mental barriers for me (40 episodes 🤯) I’ve since gotten over. Though my focus has been on wuxia dramas like The Untamed, Love in the Clouds, Fangs of Fortune, and Whispers of Fate... I think this list is largely more modern dramas, though I haven’t explored all the linked shows.

She does do a fair amount of that at the beginning, but that makes her bond with him that much more compelling. She doesn’t push him away for too too long though. It was an emotional ride, for sure.

I second Love in the Clouds. It’s 100% worth the watch. Fangs of Fortune is another really, really amazing one. Of course, if you haven’t watched The Untamed, it’s a must (I see you and I have some similar watches in our completed lists, so The Untamed is a MUST). Moonlight Mystique is another good one where the ML and FL have a lot of back and forth with the trust and secrets. Bai Lu is the FL and she’s an amazing actress.
