Here are my honest, unhinged thoughts on episodes 5 and 6:Episode 5 is the PERFECT sugary sweet fluff you'd want…
I REALLY hope they stick to the manhwa. Even though itās ongoing (on Lezhin anyway). Either way, I love these two together. Uoure so spot on about our Jungwooās heart- he is so open. Our guy just wants to shout it from the rooftops, while our Jiwon wants to keep him safe from hurts he knows is coming. Jiwon is me. I wrote it in my comment from today that I think itāll end happily with acceptance, as thatās the kind of story this is. Itās not gonna delve too deep- there arenāt enough episodes or minutes for that. Itās a cute feel-good series focusing only on love is love and not societyās harsh reality on going against the grain- ESPECIALLY going against the grain in S.Korea. Regardless, unless they somehow manage to botch the last episode, Iāll likely rewatch this many times. These two are just so damn cute. š„°
I'm glad that this bl didn't turn out like Heesu in class 2 THIS ONE IS SOOOOO GOOOOD
For real! That series was such a disappointment. It sucks because the two had such amazing chemistry. I loved every minute of their brief time together on screen- especially as Heesu came to realize his feelings. That whole production did us fans of the series so dirty.
Not really a spoiler, but since I mention the webtoon. I thought Iād play it safe. š
I wish this was 10 episodes. While I adore what we have, it feels super rushed compared to the webtoon (which is still ongoing on Lezhin Comics). I wish Korea was in a place to really support longer and more episodes for BLs. To My Star 1&2 had so much character and story development. I even enjoyed the hell out of Love for Loveās Sake (Iāve watched both series countless timesā¦seriously). Thereās too much to flesh out for 1 hour. Why Jiwoon is so shy and cautious. The extremely slow burn of their relationship. The hella cute awkward moments. Even how he was injured doing the favor for his senior- that part needed more to show why there was so much concern from Jungwoo. I absolutely love that Ki Hyun Woo from Jun & Jun makes an appearance here. š„°
However, the actors and the director have given us a good series so I know theyāll make something happen. Ep 7 will make us sad, but Ep 8 will likely end well. Itās supposed to be that kind of story: love is love and full acceptance by society (unfortunately unrealistic but itās a drama so who cares).
That being said, next week needs to hurry up! Regardless of my concerns, Iāll likely rewatch this series many times. Itāll be nice to be able to binge watch it. šI do love KBLs, even if they can be frustratingly short. KBLs and JBLs have my heart (except for Heesu in Class 2- which is not really a BL, but a baiting tactic to rope in unsuspecting BL fans and have us watch a straight couple get together- I know yāall share my frustrations with that piece of what-the -fuckery that was. I felt so swindled- the whole production did us dirty).
What a train wreck that was. And the ending? WTF was that? Seriously. Itās like the production team and everyone involved gave up on the series. I donāt blame them though.
Iām back for my rewatchā¦again. I love this drama and JiHoonās acting is top tier. His ability to convey so many emotions without speaking is a natural talent that should have scripts pouring in like a flood. I hope to see him in SO many more dramas. He gifted us with WHC2 recently, but Iām greedy and need MORE of this manās gift. Of course he canāt do it aloneā¦the cast for this series was good, as well. I really love the growing friendship Joon has with Soo Hyun. I love how they wrote and handled the sensitive topic of DV, poverty, and parent abandonment. Iāll be back soon!
I completely agree with your analysis. Sorn loves Jun so much but is very scared that his past will repeat itself…
Iāve read the novel. āŗļøThe English translation is a bitā¦difficult to understand. But I agree; it was helpful- the parts I understood, that is š
120 episodes, each 35 mins long⦠should I do this to myself š? The synopsis sounds really interesting.
ONG I was ready until I saw that. 120 35min episodes?! I usually stay away from the dramas because theyāre usually 40 30 min episodes and I avild dramas over 16 episodes usually. 120 may be too much. But I am drawn to the synopsis! ššš
I think as the older one, by more than a few years, Sorn should know that Juin doesnāt have the experience to handle the type of relationship Sorn is willing to give atp. It was Sornās own greed that made him suggest it, using that inexperience against Juin. He wants Juin but is afraid committed just in case bring with someone younger bites him in the ass again. I think he cares too much for Juin that heās genuinely afraid that if it doesnāt work out-especially because of a betrayal, he wonāt recover from it. At the same time, I think heās expecting it to fail, and badly, for him. Sorn has been drawn to Juin for years but denies his feelings because heās younger and younger equals potentially serious consequences for Sorn.
People brushed this series off as soft porn because of the Nc scenes (I meanā¦they are heated so I get it), but itās really more about two sexually healthy young men pursuing a physical relationship while navigating complex issues. Sorn and his commitment issues and fears, and Juin figuring out who he is and what he wants in a romantic relationship while finding his balance between dependence and independence. Theyāve both fallen for each other, which makes a FwB relationship more hurtful as they try to hide or bury those growing feelings, hurting each other in the process. I get Sornās actions- I donāt agree with them, but I get them. Juin is too young to get what Sorn is going through. Poor baby. But PāTia is there to protect him- late but thatās better than never.
Iām curious about the deal Sorn and Penny had though. Because itās gotta be something where a fake relationship benefits them- mostly Sorn. Probably to keep Mali away. (The audacity of that little viper greeting Sorn all cheerfully after what she did to him is craziness.)
Also, Iām lowkey glad that Thanu isnāt into guys. I canāt take more love shapes. The issues between Sorn and Juin by themselves is quite enough.
Episode 9 is coming⦠10 will be them apart, 11 them overcoming their issues, and 12 them together. Typical formula (if they follow it).
But Sorn did tell him that they were just fck buddies. Jun should have stopped right then and there if he couldnt…
