On My Golden Blood Mar 13, 2025
I’m loving this first episode. I don’t even care about the audio or CGI or whatever. I am glad to see another vamp BL drama. AND Joss in all his…ahem…glory because dayum baby. The director knows what he’s doing- serving 🎂🍾! Even our innocent Tong’s 👀were trapped like metal on a 🧲. Bro was 🪝 like a 🎣, 👀 🔒 with no 🔑. The chemistry between Joss and Fluke is paying rent y’all. Fluke looks so 🤏🏽 next to him, too. Also, Neo! I love him so I’m glad to see him in this series. I already love his character.

Title The Way Home
This really is a beautiful story of the enduring bond of brothers (I know they’re cousins). I really love how JiaHao wouldn’t give up on JiaShu and how when JiaShu found out about JiaHao, he took care of him. The father/uncle frustrated the hell out of me for almost the entire show and I wish the women had more power to stop his unreasonable actions toward the boys. Even the grandfather was limited on power to intervene.

While some scenes had abrupt, obviously cut, scenes, I was still able to enjoy this series.

Tbh its just a waste of time. Its not even a bromance drama. People... don't waste time on this
It’s brotherly love and the bonds of that being unbeatable no matter what odds are stacked against them. It’s a beautiful story. If you’re looking for BL or romantic censored BL, this isn’t that and you will be disappointed. But to say it’s a waste of time is very exclusionary. There’s a reason it gets good ratings.

idk if its because it got cut or bad editing but I'm on episode 2 and i still don't know what's the deal with…
They’re cousins (fathers are brothers) but really close like brothers because the families lived together their whole lives up until the big family incident that this story revolves around.

I just finished the series and it gets clearer as you go.

On The Boy Next World: Uncut Mar 9, 2025
I think one thing I have to say is that the “resolution” with the evil mom wasn’t satisfactory at all. She learns nothing. She’s also not punished. No consequences at all. I also wanted more development with JinWim. They could have spent a tad less on the crying (the road scene when Cir comes back could have been cut almost entirely) and singing scenes and more on this couple development imo. I did read the novel and this follows it pretty closely, loopholes and all, so there’s that.

I’m glad I got to see Boss and Noeul acting in a whole series again. I love them so much. And their nc scenes this series were even more…um…explicit than LITA. That’s saying something.

Aside from the very few cringe scenes I skipped, I enjoyed this series. I hope for a second series to further explain and close loopholes (Like why show the parallels if they weren’t going to be built on?), as well as develop the storylines of O’Zone and JinWim. I’d also like to see the womb carrier get her just desserts. ijs

Thank you! I found it and completed the registration form. It took me longer than I thought it would because of all the ads in the sight popping up. 😊 We shall see. There are several shows I saw that caught my eye and I’m looking forward to watching them if approved.

I have no idea how to use X. I found their account but can’t see any posts they made after following them.

I finished it because Yjomas is pretty. That’s really it. I wasn’t a huge fan of Kong’s character or his…
He stays the same.

8 was the end, right? It’s still showing up on the calendar for the end of the next week…

This show was super cute and it was fun to see our Cityboy Log guys in a more traditional-type drama. Hopefully they continue to grow and be cast in more mainstreamed series (especially BLs 😉). 2Js were super cute in this. DongSeop as the villain was an interesting surprise. JungGyu as the comedic relief? Yup. Overall, enjoyable. I think my fave may be the cutout discovery scene because the reaction of JiU when he was discovered by GangJae made me literally lol.

They may not on YOUKU since it was a Japanese company that purchased the rest of this censored series. YOUKU had previously aired just these 8 episodes back in Feb 2023 before Chinese officials pulled it. The 9-30 episodes likely won’t air on this Chinese platform. Wowow is the Japanese broadcast site airing it (ep9 won’t air until April) and another site (see comments in newer posts) has a registration waitlist likely due to bandwidth restrictions. That site says it has subtitles. The Japanese one does not.

I’m hoping for an eventual international release.

Hope that helps!

The way I’m 🥺 it’s over. But the end with Jun and Dylan. WHAT?!!!! Like, they KNOW fans are gonna wanna see the ship sail. GMMTV really did produce an amazing series. One of the very few Thai BLs I’ll rewatch again and again. I love it so much. I’m glad William and Est are an official couple because that means we can expect to see them act together again. Especially because they received a crazy amounts of support from fans and are hella popular. That means maybe Nut and Hong too? (A fan can dream.)

That's entirely fair. I mean, IKEA might be cheap, but it is popular for a reason. And it's not for nothing that…
I’m glad I’m not alone with this app’s editing platform. That and how you often need to completely close the app before you can access the edit option…

*raising glass in stout agreement* Here here! All human emotion, as you said, is subjective. How presumptuous of me to think I can adequately respond in a way that satisfies everyone. Ans how exhausting to be concerned about it in the first place! In my vernacular: “Ain’t nobody got time for that!” I honestly didn’t understand the original comment coming after me and my apparent “mockery” because I had, in fact, stated how much I enjoy the predictably. It was a head/scratcher, for sure. All one needs to do is look at my watch list and ratings to know I love many tropes and especially KBLs. My ratings prove it (usually 7.5 or higher). Not the case for the Thai BLs, unfortunately, of which I have seen too many to count.

I also don’t think your post was a “constant mockery,” as accused. Satire and mockery are two very different things.

As I said, I can’t please everyone...but then again, I don’t care to.

I would agree that tropes with good actors and a good script directed well are worth watching. Tropes are largely unavoidable as they are everywhere.

Some shows are worth constant mockery. However, I don’t see constant mockery in this thread. Perhaps your definition of mockery and mine are different. This can’t be helped. In the end, we are all free to voice our opinions on platforms such as these. The beauty of free will and the blessings of age is that I no longer stress over every word possibly causing someone to feel out of sorts. We cannot please everyone. As I am no politician, I have no inclination to please everyone. I am no mediator, so I have no need to speak both sides as if a consensus was necessary.

Maybe someone in the production sector or writing sector will see the comments and change something. Maybe not. Either way, life goes on. As do like-minded people with like-minded humor. To each their own, you know? Honestly? Some producers really need to be more discerning in what they give the green light to.

*And can I just say as a random aside: I hate that this site’s app has issues with paragraphs and typing correctly in general. The number of times I have to edit because the app chose to type whatever it wanted and spell words how it liked is enough to shave at least a few minutes off of my life.

I just realized this director did A Time of Fever, Kissable Lips, and The Director Who Buys Me Dinner- all shows I actually enjoyed. (I also enjoyed Love Tractor, but that’s more of a typical KBL.) Especially A Time of Fever. I wouldn’t have worried had I known. Though some tropes persist, this director will make me feel all kinds of emotions before he’s done with me. Episode 4’s kiss alone was what I would have expected had I known who directed it.

Then again, almost all of the KBLs he’s directed have a not-so-satisfying ending (AToF, Kissable Lips…DWBMD is iffy) imo so… We shall see. I’m in the process of reading the webtoon right now. Either way, I’m 100% invested in this show.

I would argue that you can, in fact, do both. However, the latter discussion is just low in productivity value, as it is highly likely that none of us are producers, directors, actors, or anyone involved in the production process of these trope-heavy BLs, thereby rendering our discussions on the whys and possible future improvements of said tropes moot in that regard.

I will therefore take the liberty of continuing to humorously point out the tropes and shortcomings of series while sharing my thoughts with like-minded individuals, as that’s what these largely anonymous rating and reviewing sites are for. I enjoy humor. It makes this long and stressful life markedly more enjoyable.
