The way I’m in love with this series already…the ending of episode 2 was so damn cute I can’t stand it! From the trailer, I know this will put me through an emotional roller coaster, but I’m ready for it! 💙🫰🏽🫶🏽
Despite the negative comments, I actually enjoyed it. I’m a fan of Kim Jae Joong so I chose to watch it even after reading all the “doomsday” warnings away from fellow watchers. I persisted and was pleased with the ending. I admit I deeply despised Kun’s parents and Shin. It took me a while to warm up to Shin (many, many episodes) and longer for the parents. But I could see the points the writer was trying to make with the relationships and the plot (I have a psychology degree). It’s a drama so accuracy isn’t expected or required. With that in mind, I had some laughs, some tears, and some 😡moments keeping me entertained. To me it’s up there with My Lovely Liar. 🤷🏽♀️🫰🏽🥰
So far, so cute. I was a bit apprehensive when I saw the guitar in Sun’s room, but it was a useless prop, thankfully. This time. Product placement in first minute of the episode, but then they got down to storytelling, thankfully. Overall, this was a cute first episode and I’m looking forward to each “lifetime” (episode) of them falling in love. I wonder if the last episode will be some sort of culmination of all the lifetimes? First episode is like a cross of Pleasantville with La Pluie. Like the writer was inspired by these two plotlines. Pulled together nicely. 👍🏽
Some of the most recent Thai shows also include 4 Minutes and currently airing Kidnap, Jack & Joker, and Love…
I am also watching all the shows you listed except for J&J (because I want to binge it, hoping it’s good- I like pretty much anything with War and Yin). I did enjoy 4 Minutes, though. I’m not really sold on Kidnap or Love Sick ‘24 yet- didn’t finish episode 1 of LS24. Yet and still, my opinion is that the recent Thai series aren’t hitting the same as some other countries’ series for me. I’ve become less tolerant of product placement and guitars and weird sound effects (to name a few). I think it’s because I’ve seen SO many Thai BLs. Maybe I need a break?🤷🏽♀️
For example, others may enjoy them, but I’m honestly over Thai series when I see them roll out the guitar (spare me), especially when that’s not the theme. Just throwing in this random love song with a guitar is overplayed and very cringe- in my opinion. If a guitar comes out for this series, it’ll be a wrap for me. (I’ve delayed watching a couple episodes because it didn’t really grab me.) I am hopeful of Every You, Every Me. I want it to skip some of the cringe- I haven’t watched the first episode yet so I’m reserving judgement. (The Hidden Moon is cringe but in a weirdly semi-enjoyable way 🤷🏽♀️as long as I can forward through the 😬.) Bad Guy My Boss is just 👎🏽. I have high hopes for Eccentric Romance, too. 🤞🏽
I dropped it. I’m sure others love it, based on the rating, but I struggled to get to 10 (mostly skipping through episodes 8-10). It felt like the story dragged too long for me and the relationship felt hella awkward. But that’s just me 🤷🏽♀️
It's a little cringe. I think I will have to wait for more episodes to come out before I commit.
I agree. I love Earth but his character is too much for me with the immature whining (it reminds me of the GL characters I can’t stand). He deserves to play more mature and sassy roles. Pond’s stare is just on the right side of sweet/creepy. If the writer keeps Earth’s character whiny cringy, I’m out.
WeTV (Tencent for USA) has a misdirect to Live In Love instead. But GagaOOLala has it just fine. Though it isn’t airing for a little over an hour from the time of this post. Maybe WeTV/Tencent will fix their link by then for those who don’t have GagaOOLala 🤞🏽🫶🏽. I hope it doesn’t disappoint like some of the most recent Thai BLs have (for me). And please, please, PLEASE let there be no awkward guitar scenes (y’all know what I mean- so cringe my eyes roll every single time).
I also agree with the comment(s) about the [final episode] being a bit underwhelming. It doesn’t really seem like Kyosuke closed that friendship to lover distance emotionally like Isumi did. It’s like he chose to be in a relationship with Isumi, not because he authentically liked him romantically, but because if he didn’t, he feared Isumi would leave and Kyosuke wouldn’t see him anymore or get his cooking. Knowing more of his thoughts would have helped, but that means 10 episodes at least, plus one more for the relationship build.
And while I don’t need passionate kisses for this, they needed more than the barely there lip touch if they were going to kiss. I could actually see their heads shaking a little to keep themselves from pressing too much, like they were forcing themselves to touch lips until the director said “cut” and no more. To me, it was the most “scripted” feeling part of the series.
As I said, I don’t need deep kissing. The series Takara-kun and Amagi-kun (high school setting) and Mr. Unlucky Has No Choice but to Kiss (college setting) are pecks too but they are more believable (and I have rewatched these two series countless times) than a college student and worker, who should be more mature.
The series needed more episodes. Ah well. Still cute up to this last episode.
I will always enjoy Japanese BLs, but this one was a bit underwhelming for me Let me add a few things....1. the…

Watched on GagaOOLala.
