The trailer makes it look like it’ll be a cute, fun series, but I bet it’ll be more than that, with an established long-term relationship and a head injury. I imagine it’ll pull at our heartstrings in so many ways. I’m sure this series will showcase Perth and Santa’s acting abilities well. An their chemistry, which is palpable in the trailer, but has been felt since they started interacting together after pairing up. I’m really excited about how far they’ll go together. I’m also glad Santa gets to be the carefree one in the pair- it suits his personality way better.
I held off on watching this after episode 1 because I knew I wouldn’t be able to stand the weekly wait. I’m glad I did because episode 4 wrecked me. I bawled like a baby. I would have been a preoccupied mess if I’d had to wait a week to watch the next episode. I’m glad it didn’t leave me with red eyes for long.
I really enjoyed the back and forth of their role dynamics each episode, but how creative to have an underlying romance unfolding between the short story episodes. It feeds my BL loving heart twofold. 💙As others have mentioned, this series needs more recognition for sure. 👍🏽
Two of my fave GMMTV CPs in one series, I’ve been anticipating it since Heart Killers was announced. And episode 1 of ❤️🔪 has me 🎣. The way Fadel was holding that knife…poor Style…or him because the end is inevitable but I’m here for his ❤️ capture. And now I really want to see some behind the scenes because I know they’d be crazy funny. I’m looking forward to next week’s episode.
Not quite sure how I feel yet. I’d say it’s cute. As long as I keep in mind that this is crazy unserious, I think I’ll be okay for this series. Thomas and Kong did so well together during DMD Friendship. I’m waiting for Thomas to have more lines though. The silent and observant is giving more apathetic than anything else. I like the supportive friend group for Teerak. Teerak’s family is giving sitcom vibes though.😬I know it’s on purpose but Ima fast forward through those moments, thanks.
Since Love Sick 2024 is supposed to be a remake of Love Sick 2014, the script seems to be already written, however,…
I watched about 20 minutes of episode 1 and put the whole series down. From some of the reviews here and yours, I’m not regretting it. I keep coming back to check every once in a while, just in case. Mostly because I had hopes for this before it was released and I dislike being so disappointed. ☹️
The way I’ve been looking forward to this since Thomas and Kong formed their partnership back in DMD Friendship… The trailer doesn’t look cringe either. Yay! These two have such good on-screen chemistry. One more day!
I haven’t started this yet and have been skipping reels with spoilers for now. From all your comments, I know I’m going to want to binge through the whole series, so I’m forcing myself to wait until it’s done. SO difficult to do! Y’all are killing me with the crumbs I do manage to pick up despite my best efforts. 🥺😫🫣
Episode 3 is done and I still don’t see chemistry from the MLs. It all feels rushed and forced. The music and camera angles don’t help, either. I’m disappointed and relieved that this version was not my first BL. If it was, I likely would have stopped my interest in the genre from here, like I did with the BL/GL mix in Love Sea (the GL was way too cringe so I skipped through all scenes with their storyline). I’m sure there are good GL series out there, but I’m SO put off by cringy, ultra-whiny “sub/bottom” roles, especially when the “sub/bottom” is supposed to be innocent but instead just comes across as dumb and purposefully missing/ignoring the signs while the “top/dom” is all over-indulgent and patient. 😮💨 In my opinion, this version is giving me all the things I dislike. Very off-putting. I’m gonna pass on the weekly wait and wait for it to be done.
Someone please let me know if it gets better before then and maybe I’ll pick it back up. I won’t hold my breath though.
Thankfully there are other JBLs and KBLs (and even a couple Thai BLs) ongoing now that make up for this.
Sigh. LITA was my first BL. I also very much love JBLs. I expected the Japanese adaptation of LITA would serve me what I love most about LITA and JBLs. Alas, 2 episodes in and I’m cringing more than anything. Evety “intimate” scene between the MLs. Cringe. The bathroom stall turned car seat? Double cringe (I kept hitting that 10s forward button). Maybe it’s because I don’t really feel Payu or Rain in these two. The chemistry is not chemistrying for me. I wish Japan had taken more creative license with the story and characters. Everything just feels too rushed for believable chemistry. The storyline is mostly just a chopped down Japanese version of the same, but with added cringification. Maybe they’ll do better as it progresses? As a fellow poster below me said, I’m wondering how Japan will handle the NC scenes… My fave is after the race. But my fave fave is the tender kisses they share after Rain goes home sick and Payu confirms he likes Rain.
Episode 1 was a solid attempt. I will stick around and I wonder how they are to handle the NC scenes🤪😜
Same. The bathroom stall turned car seat had me cringing. Maybe because I don’t really feel Payu or Rain in these two. I wish Japan had taken more creative license with the story and characters. Everything just feels too rushed for believable chemistry.
This is a Japanese version of my first BL, which holds a special place for me. As I love Japanese BLs, I’ve been heavily anticipating their remake. After watching the first episode, there are parts I felt were too rushed for us to see chemistry. Arashi is definitely good looking. Rei is appropriately naive and a bit foolish. I do feel like they needed at least 45 minutes per episode because so much goes in on the original to build the chemistry with nonverbal communication between dialogue that cutting those parts out means the storyline feels a bit rushed at times. Perhaps they could have focused 10 episodes on Arashi and Rei and a second season on Fuma and Kai.
In any event, Arashi/Payu is my fave character from the series and Nagumo Shoma brings that vibe, so I’m still looking forward to how he plays this role in future episodes. I wonder if the JBL will have a twin for Arashi (I can’t tell from the cast list).
I am so glad I am not the only one concerned about the side story with the young student. Adolescent suicide is…
I was taken aback by the kid’s comment. I wonder if the father is against the drugs he’s being given and that’s why the parents were arguing in the street.
I was going to wait until 7 and 8 came out so I could binge it since I KNEW it was gonna be messy. But Instagram reels wouldn’t let me. *sigh*
Episodes 5 and 6… I’m conflicted because their chemistry is palpable and I know Ju Yeong is still in love with Do Hoe. The way he looks at him… Do Hoe has Issues. He needs some serious help for his imposter syndrome (if that’s what it is) and child abandonment and abuse trauma. As well as his guilt for doing Ju Yeong like that back in high school by calling the police when he KNOWS what his dad is like and what would happen to Ju Yeong. Why is fighting back after repeated abuse wrong? Because he’s an elder? But the two obviously reconciled, and over the shared loss of Do Hoe no less.
As far as Yu Jeong and Do Hoe, instead of Ju Yeong always folding for him, chasing him and being the one to apologize, he should fold for, chase after, and apologize to Ju Yeong because that guy has done everything and would do anything for him. Do Hoe is only thinking about himself. This thing between him and Hyeon Ho? I think he’s been discussed with himself and though Hyeon Ho knows he’s got issues, he has had feelings for him since high school. But those feelings are tainted by his enabling this behavior of Do Hoe. He’s been able to hide behind this facade (expensive everything and architecture drawings that aren’t his) because of Hyeon Ho and cutting off Ju Yeong because he would force him to see and confront his mess. Easier to ignore it. But he never got over Ju Yeong either and Ju Yeong isn’t one to ignore things for long.
I’m hoping 7 and 8 offer more growth for Do Hoe. He has some redeeming qualities (in his care of Gwang Mo- even though I’m not sure that will end well for the kid unless he does way more than have a chat with parents about their son’s suicide ideation). I have no idea how they’ll wrap it up when 5 and 6 were so messy. This series definitely needs a S2 because how can 1 hour resolve everything? Maybe it will. Thursday needs to hurry up.

Waiting for next week 😊
