To me, being so obsessed with a kid you had stay with you for such a short time a decade ago is odd. She kept his blanket without washing it so it wouldn’t lose his scent?! That’s a little creepy. And calling him son while he calls her mom…someone who each hasn’t seen or communicated with each other for a decade? There should be a little more awkwardness. But maybe their closeness will be explained by flashbacks in future episodes. Either way, I do enjoy this so far. 😊 Its cute and silly in just the right amounts.

absolutely! since he’s based in Thailand, it’s way better already since he speaks it. The interactions, especially the language hiccups, are more realistic, which adds to the story. I’m already anticipating how these will play out as the series progresses.

They’re both so pretty. And Petch is gorgeous frfr. Doesn’t Sang Min look a bit like War? In some scenes, I couldn’t not see it.

Episode 1 made me laugh a lot. It’s cute and silly and fun. So far, I like how they work with the language differences. And looking up Choi Sang Min, he is a Korean model and actor who lives in Thailand, according to his IG. His knowledge of some Thai seems more authentically portrayed than the past Thai-Korean dramas, which were just a hot mess (I couldn’t fathom getting through more than the first episode for them because they were so cringe). It seems as if both the writer and director read the reviews for those past Thai-Korean BLs and took some tips from them, which is refreshing. And the visuals…😍 They’re both so pretty to see on screen, then they get caught in the prolonged eye contact… 🥰

And is it just me, or does he resemble War a bit?

I watched it on kisssh and those scenes were cut there as well. The censorship board is ridiculous.

Apparently in China it’s a no-no for close young male relatives to show physical affection lest it come across as homosexual to some 🙄. Meanwhile the love these two cousins have is like brothers and that’s the selling point of this series. Family is not just determined by bloodlines. What’s to censor in that bond? I hope the Chinese government gets over their homophobic, over the top censorship hang-ups soon.

Those should have been included. I started on YouKu and watched 6 and 11 on kisssh (I generally don’t do the pirated sites but posts saying scenes were cut convinced me, along with YouKu wanting to charge this VIP $2 after the first 6 minutes to get the rest “early”…I was like, it’s already out for free and $2 for one 30+ min episode is a no-go for me when I already pay for a subscription). The hug and run scenes were not in the kisssh site’s episodes, either. Thank you for sharing what many of us don’t get to see. 😊

I binged 11 episodes. Wish I hadn’t seen the reels for this until it was closer to fine because now I’m hooked and can’t wait for the rest. Da!s hella stubborn and I’m so over him. Why doesn’t the grandfather have more pull as the head of the He family? I love the love Jia Shu and Jia Hao have for each other, especially with all they’ve been through and the years they’ve been apart. I know this series will have a good ending, but the endless frustration the adults leave me with each episode is significant.

Lazy writing. It’s like someone else wrote in Johan and Notth’s parts. Or the writer obviously prefers Johan and North. Who knows? Either way, Hill and Ter’s stiryline needed to end at episode 4 (really, 2 1-hour episodes is all we need for them to clear up their whole “drama”), then focus on Johan and North. Maybe also fit in enough screen time for another couple like we (or maybe just I) thought would happen with 16 episodes. There’s not enough for our 3rd couple. They’re like an afterthought but I want to see how these close friends develop when one is oblivious for years. With 2 episodes left, I doubt it would be realistic enough.

In any event, I totally agree with you.

I always fast forward Hill and Ter parts. And im not ashamed. The writers are at fault for the ridiculous storyline and the director for dragging their story past 4 episodes max.

Here just for Johan and North parts. I push that skip or slider whenever it’s just Hill and Ter because no thanks.

The agency really needs to advocate for better, more mature roles for Earth. As an Earth fan, I’m so done with the roles of a high school or uni student limiting his potential. At the very least make him a grad student TA or an entry level worker. Actually, him as a sassy and sharp rich executive would be fun to watch! I love Earth and watch his IGs frequently so I wish I could support him in this work…but I can’t take the immature cutesy roles anymore. Please give me sassy, mature Earth!

If this is true, I’m so relieved because the characters Hill and Ter are ridiculously written.

They’re supposed to be the main leads but the majority of those still watching are only here for Johan and North. I actually stopped watching this series after the mess that was episode one. But then someone posted an interaction between Johan and North and I was like, I’ll watch them because their chemistry is better and roles are written better.

Unfortunately, it’s probably because of their contracts for this series that state the main couple mls will have a specific amount of screen time per episode, which is why Earth and Pond’s scenes haven’t been cut down despite obvious fan responses. So we are likely stuck with it.

I hope they give Earth something better next time because this role he plays over and over again has well become stagnant.

I echo the sentiments of others. This was DO good! And I NEED a special episode or S2 because this was wow. I need to read the novel, I guess, but how the actors portrayed their characters… seriously good. It is given a place next to Manner of Death and Triage for me.

why am I thinking this won’t have a happy ending for these two?! Thiu is still hella suspicious of Kan and I doubt 1 episode will resolve that. Too many arrows have pointed to Kan for his detective mind to rest easily with such a neat wrap up. And with Boss’ sudden death without a reason (mad sus) when he was recovering well, any peace Thiu was heading toward would crumple. I doubt he will leave it, regardless of his growing feelings for Kan. I’m imagining him catching Kan at the safe (trap) and arresting him with his police homies, though unhappily because he cannot allow the injustice of Kan getting away with murder, despite his feelings for him. But a teensy weensy part of me wants them to find happiness. What can I say 🤷🏽‍♀️

So true! The right partner would be so beneficial for him. He is often cast as a main lead but written as a supporting character when it comes down to it. I did like My Only 12%, but I wanted more professional growth opportunities for him in newer series. There are some BL comics I’ve read where the character makes me think of Earth if given the opportunity and proper pairing. More grownup, straddling the mature side of the line of sassy and cute, which suits him well. He needs to leave uni scripts for more adult roles, I think. I know he still looks hella young, which is probably why they keep casting him in 20 year old roles, but with better styling, he does fine as his age or 24+ roles. Even his SNS posts are more mature yet youthful and full of the sassy Earth fans love.

North really is better written. He’s got the right amount of simple-minded cluelessness mixed with strength of will that is cute and endearing instead of annoying. It suits his character’s age too.

I dropped or hit a reel with Johan and North brought me back. If I skip all the overly youthful scenes with Easter and only focus on Johan and North, I can like this series. I like the trope of these two. “Clise your boyfriend’s eyes” is CRAZY…and I’m here for it.

But I wish Earth would be cast in better roles which shows his true abilities and charm instead of immature college student with high school angst flashbacks.
