I couldn't wait and ended up watching all the remaining episodes without subs (and elementary chinese skills haha), and.. this drama is so so lovely. Maybe a little bit on the nose and preachy/cliche at times, but it's executed with so much heart and with.. so much authenticity as to modern problems and relationships that it overrides all of that. I do wish the intimacy was a little more... unbridled here, since I do feel like thats the vibe the director was going for, so that's unfortunate that censorship got in the way of further depicting an idea of what this beautiful relationship's closeness and intimacy might look like/manifest as.. which is so so rare to see in a cdrama... but regardless, love this drama a lot, and will probabky have to rewatch with the full subs! Probably within my top 3 cdramas of all time! :)

Ah yeah. Maybe! I was looking if I could see the cursive inscription of the brand name on the rings, but theres not that close of a frame for that haha. I'm guessing that either it's some Chinese luxury brand that does similar style or they just didnt want to give Cartier that publicity so they used a diff box? Haha

This drama is phenomenal publicity for these tricolor rings 😂 i def already looked into them ugh they just look so hot and chic when they wear it. My new dream ring-- and I never have even thought about rings before or buying them hahah.
The secondhand embarrassment in episode 7 😂 when shes trying to butter Ma up, studying, and then buying clothes and skipping up to him ahhh. Shrewd and cool of her to do, but also ahhh very funny / cringey hahahah
But also how Elvis straight up approached Ma and her just to mess with her 😂 "hi, and oooo r u his girlfrienddd?" when he knows thats not true, and then straight up leaves afterwards hahah. (Or maybe he did it on purpose so that his companion would know that she's not his girlfriend?). +that fly has got to be a paid actor with that timing haha
What do we think that girl with Elvis means when she says "looks like the harvest tonight is not bad" or basically that they've gotten something out of going to the exhibition. What is she and Elvis going to scope out? Something about the people? Just information about who is who? Trying to scope out info about Wanguo, since he was also trying to get in good with that older "jiejie" who also works at Wanguo? Ugh I'd love to actually understand this level of Chinese

Ah yess the music choices are so good! Love it, does so much for the atmosphere, like with the tea scene, for example. Or honestly, even the drama trailer! Wouldn't be the same-- soo good at building the chemistry too. Awesome choices by the team!

Yes true! I do think that the business part being boring might have to do with the subs-- for me at least-- Im usually all for a good business/power struggle /mystery, but I have no patience to decode what's actually going on with the subs at a literal level, then also in a politics level as well. Too much work haha. So I end up paying less attention/skipping through. Cant wait for real subs to come out for the full experience though!

Yesss! Yet another scene that makes it so apparent that he's completely smitten with her-- and I think she has to know too?? When he gave the ring back saying "yours. Mine." and then leaned in when they were crouched on the floor & she stood up, holy smokes--I see why she did that! That would've been so intimate! Whew! Then them still challenging each other and getting close when they stood up.. ugh love it too much!
Oh! And the scene at the laptop store! A little bit of proectiveness already haha. So lovely :)
They're so hot together 😭 The flirting is too good The tea scene in ep 3 with the shoes was so fire man, the chemistry. Then them talking and laughing at dinner that night too ahhhhhhh so many warm fuzzies and sparks!! Even if it's a little trite, it's just done super well by the main leads, with the intensity and tenderness that I personally havent seen in a lot of cdramas. Ahh too excited!! They obviously, obviously like each other but arent admitting it due to their circumstances. Definitely feel that Elvis has already fallen hard, which checks out according to the synopsis. Love this already, and am both pleased and a tiny bit sad the drama is 14 episodes haha. Dislike the usual draggy lengths of dramas, but could watch them banter allll day haha.
Can't wait for actually good english subs to come out though, woukd make so many scenes that much better.
