My weekend just got even better watching our couple. They are so cute, adults but both experiencing such feelings…
Loved that short haired mom too! Brought in what needed to be said.

By the way, had to comment on your pfp. Love the gif, and amazing taste. 😊 they literally restored my faith in modern romance cdramas. So beautiful!

Thank you!! I started this because people were saying it's great on one of the MDL homepage articles-- only to be feeling like I was not watching the same show they were 2 episodes in. The FL wasn't engaging or authentic or even all that interesting, even if she's not realistic. It just doesn't make sense. Cant empathize with her or even get to know her as a character / person because the premise is so rooted in fantasy. The ML isn't much better, and the acting was... interesting. Same with the chemistry. And when I looked at the ratings... I can't believe there arent more people who couldn't watch this.

It felt so cheesy and overexaggerated and caricature-like, and not in a tasteful way.

I have yet to see a korean cross-dressing drama where the girl is convincing. I've seen a chinese one, don't remember…
Yeahh, Park Eunbin in the King's Affection (? Or whatever it was) was the most convincing kdrama crossdressing I had seen. You could tell she put in serious effort for it, from the voice and mannerisms. Not exactly 100% convincing, but close for a very slightly built, feminine actress. Sonee.. not really selling it for me yet

Bizarre and cute first episode, in a good way! Although admittedly, those medical scenes are a little painful lol, although I get some of it is for comedic effect / hyperbole / character setting haha. Excited!
On Hold My Hand at Twilight Jan 21, 2023
Title Hold My Hand at Twilight Spoiler
Was / am excited for this-- watched the first episode. the initial premise, that this girl goes through a rough break-up and that the boy sees this all unfold, is pretty frequently played-- and the premise that this complete stranger feels.. attached / curious enough to follow her around is also a bit far fetched (although I understand that maybe fits into the whole "fate" thread they have going). Aaand Soramame's character has the subtle beginnings of a potential manic pixie dream girl, but we'll see how her character grows.
Regardless, this drama still has the ingredients to be a cute, enjoyable show with a lot of heart-- even if there's some farfetched and trite plotlines. The characters and actors are still likable and adorable, and the cinematography is really beautiful! Also, I'm quite a sucker for slow burn dramas about chasing your dreams, so this is also right up my alley, haha.

Super curious about this drama-- the poster is so good, and the synopsis also looks like the drama will tackle a lot of very relatable and realistic issues! The day this gets subs, alas.. haha
On I Will Be Your Bloom Dec 17, 2022
Was drawn in by the cute vibes and photography on the poster, and I'm so pleasantly surprised! I usually dont really like live action reverse harems or dramas about idols _or_ live-in housekeeper (/matron)-tropes, but man, this is just such a pure, feel good drama executed so cleanly, without any fuss. Not really any cringe, nor _too_ many tropes or unnecessary theatrics. uwu the main couple being cute as hell helps.

Also, love the amount of time it spends on characters, esp the FL more recently.

Title Lesson in Love Spoiler
Finished ep 3, and I really cant imagine or see how FL would fall for ML. Even if he's 17 (?), he _feels_ like a horny, petulant child. How does a grown woman find that attractive? The mental age difference between them really comes through to me. I'm really uncomfortable with it, even though I wanted to give it a chance. And apparently in ep 4, they get closer and bike ride, etc, etc.? That's so so weird to me. I'm probably going to have to drop. Sucks, bc I was really drawn in by the posters.

I know Japanese dramas are short, but man, I'm already dreading when it's going to finish! Theres so much to unpack and feel with the characters 😭 and so much growth and progression ahhhh
Such a lovely show
On Falling into You Sep 29, 2022
The slow mo scenes in the first few episodes feel a bit forced to create tension / chemistry; the filter is excessive, and some of the coach-athlete dynamics make me a tad uncomfortable, but overall, it works for the characters and actors. It helps that they're doing a good job of selling the characters/ roles (and that I'm a gigantic pile of starry eyed mush when it comes to sports / music dramas about chasing dreams, hah). Pleasantly surprised! Will continue to keep up with this

Title First Love Spoiler
Yeah since this is based on Hikaru Utada First Love here my thoughts, the lyrics in Hikaru Utada First Love it’s…
Oh noo, that'd what I was afraid of! ... sucks that all the most beautiful looking dramas / movies always end sadly. Oh well, I'll still begrudgingly give it a try haha bc it just looks so good!

Soooo is this going to be tragic? Wrong guesses only-- but fr, I feel like all the first love stories of the past few years always end up with them breaking up, haha
On Let's Meet Now Sep 10, 2022
Trailer was beautiful! So i started on the first episode-- but am I the only one thats getting the feeling that the acting is a bit wooden? I dont know anything about these actors and their previous works / acting quality, or if the feeling might be coming from writing / dialogue

Woah so I saw him in Animals and Rinko-san, and he's so great-- great acting/range and very much swoonworthy. Would loveee to see him in a main role
