This series was very special to me. I loved how fitting the ending was. :))
Sad and fitting but hopeful at the time.
Ohh what a ride this was! The story keeps surprising you. I never saw some of the twists coming especially the way certain events unfold. It’s not what I expected at all and that’s part of what makes it so gripping.
The pacing and twists have been insane. I did not expect them to go in the direction they did . I thought they might leave one or two behind but the way it all went down hit me out of nowhere. I was just sitting there like, “Wait, what?!” 😭😭 (iykyk)
My only complaint was that I wish we got a little more background on the characters and their backstories. The show is so fast-paced that we don’t dive too deep into their stories and while I get why, it would've made sob harder if we knew more.
But overall, an entertaining watch that keeps you hooked till the end!
Onto season 2!
This drama takes you on a ride with Xu Qian who is unexpectedly thrown from his modern life into the Defang Dynasty. What really makes this stand out is the focus on the characters. Qian's journey is the heart of the show and his interactions with those in meets in this new mysterious world are what drive the plot forward.
Since this is a character-centric drama, my review will also focus on people who stood with Qian in his journey. Whether it was through subtle bonds, conflicts or silly realizations, somehow everyone has a significant role to play. I have kept it as general as possible avoiding spoilers or any major events that might take away the firsthand joy.

This drama has been my happy place for the past few weeks. I have laughed, cried, gotten frustrated and been completely hooked by twists and mystery, all while never losing my interest. It's one of those shows that has a perfect balance of drama and humor, where the comedy feels natural and not forced and a storyline where romance isn't the main focus. I would definitely recommend this.
I am gonna miss this! :(
Overall, this is an emotional journey that beautifully portrays that you don't always need words to communicate.
Highly recommended. (if you are in need for a good cry)

Also, the last laugh wasn’t even Xu Qian’s, it was Wang Hedi’s! 😂😂 I know he totally broke out of character there! I know that laugh. 🤣

As for the editing and CGI, they weren’t the best, but they didn’t take away from the overall enjoyment. Hoping to see actors in other series!

While the premise might seem like your typical "silly wealthy man and his caretaker falling in love", the drama delves much deeper into their emotional journey.
Shao Peng, a positive and resilient character who is deaf and mute, shows both strength and vulnerability, with a portrayal that feels authentic despite my limited knowledge of sign language.
Zi Xiang evolves from a carefree, self-centered person to someone capable of empathy and love.
Their chemistry is the highlight turning a reluctant partnership into a tender love story. They acted as catalysts for each other's growth, helping each other look beyond their struggles.
However, the second couple’s relationship lacked development, and the pacing was uneven. Plot devices like assassins and unsupportive parents felt forced, while prejudice against disabled people was only superficially addressed.
Overall, while the pacing can be uneven and some plot points feel forced and underdeveloped, the chemistry between the leads and their character development make it a solid, enjoyable one-time watch. Probably more enjoyable if binged
