People are complaining about the angled kiss. But remember, that was the final 1 second of the episode, and this…
I'd so like to think you're right Maggi and have written some of what you said above. However, Zuho is an idol out to continue to make his mark in the world of acting and we've seen this before in the world of KBLs where idols are concerned. I'll be so disappointed if there's no kiss, after building up such a plethora of sexual tension week-after-week.
I adore all the raw emotions this drama brings. Each week remains a surprise and delight for me. Jo Yoo Jae simply can't let Seo Han Joon go - it's like he's his drug fix. His jealousy for him is indeed off the scales. I especially enjoy the narrative between the two, the way they talk their feelings through, juxtaposed by this unwavering undercurrent of need (Jo Yoo Jae) and desire (Seo Han Joon) for one another. It does make for delightful storytelling and viewing. It's clear the 5-months apart broke each in different ways.
Kim In Sung as a first time actor, is doing such a brilliant job in the delivery of his lines and emotions. I find myself mesmerised watching him. I hope Ben from Step By Step is watching this, he could learn a lot from Kim In Sung. #JustSayin'
However, I'm struggling to understand how Jo Yoo Jae hasn't reconciled his true feelings for Seo Han Joon, beyond just a friend. Surely, his constant need to be close and touch Seo Han Joon, must be resulting at the very least in several semi's?! There's no way in my mind that he's not turned on by his closeness and indeed smell. Poor Seo Han Joon, I really feel his pain at this point - such a head fuck, having the love of your life not only fuck with your head emotionally, but also your relentless desire.
Finally, that kiss. At this point, I'm going to give it the benefit of the doubt that the Director simply wanted to tease us into EP7 and will in fact show us a proper kiss. However, I can't help thinking that in typical South Korean stylie, to protect the reputation of Zuho as an idol, we won't see one. If so, I'll be seriously pissed off.
OMG! I am actually astounded in myself that I actually finished this. Pretty much everyone was right in their negative commentary for the latter parts of the drama and don't even get me started on the final two episodes. What started out as a 'nice' drama, just morphed into utter, utter ridiculousness in the final two episodes. That twist, if you want to call it that, was just beyond lazy, stupid, pathetic, unrealistic writing. Was the actress in question, suddenly told about her planned demise and decided to jump ship before it ended? If I was her, I'd do the same. Pissed me off massively, so unnecessary and in no way aided the flow, narrative or storytelling. They didn't even take the time to truly narrate her death, or deal with the FLs breakdown following it. After all, aren't we to believe 'love concurs all'. Oh, do fuck off!
What seriously jarred with me throughout the drama was the ineptitude of the editing and flow of the storyline - honestly, seriously bad. One moment we're somewhere and then, without a glimmer of explanation, we're immediately somewhere else. WTAF!? The meeting with Nian Qin's parents, they didn't even bother to really show, even their wedding reception and wedding night and there are so, so many more jarring scenarios. Hey, we didn't even get to see them snuggle up as a couple in bed, let alone have any intimate moments that gave us a suggestion that their relationship was sexual. The editing, flow and narrative is the worst I've seen in a C-drama and yet it has a ridiculous, uncalled for high rating on MDL. Yes, I absolutely get and understand Chinese censorship, but I think this went beyond the censorship and was just seriously bad editing and writing.
This should have been positioned as Crush, a drama, where two grown arse adults with a seriously hot male lead continues to kiss his girlfriend, come fiancée on the forehead and cuddle her from behind. That's all they do in terms of physical connection and intimacy throughout the drama. The kisses throughout the drama, you can so feel the female lead is so not invested in, to the point where it becomes uncomfortable viewing. You can literally feel her saying, 'that's enough'.
The early parts in their getting to know each other, were nice and I really enjoyed the relentless sassiness and confidence of the female lead, but it just went spectacularly downhill from the middle. I'm actually so annoyed I wasted and invested my time in this. It's a 2.5/10 for me, never to be re-watched.
For me, this was the best Our Skyy 2 in terms of storytelling and flow of the narrative. I especially like the creativity (not a word I often use for Thai BLs, so a surprise) in bringing the two dramas together. The others have just cringed my soul out, to the point of no return with the fluffiness, cringeworthy, bad writing and desperate desire for fan service. However, I did enjoy this one and find myself looking forward to the next episode.
I'm weeping for the Ferrero Roches spilled on the floor 😪😭Those things are expensive no matter where you…
Ah, Not here in the UK, they’re marketed as such, but everyone knows the chocolate is rubbish. Hotel Chocolat, now you’re talking. The King of chocolatiers.
This was a pleasant watch. The leads could act and had lovely chemistry. Simple script with a good flowing narrative. I adored Jeong Ha Ram's personality and actually laughed out loud at the harassment comments here. Hilarious. This was just a spunky, confident man, who fell in love with a man and went full steam ahead to get him. Loved this about him - extremely hot and sexy!
I really enjoyed episodes 3 & 4. Contrary to what others think, I really like Jo Yoo Jae's character. I don't find him a red flag in the least, quite the opposite. He's deep, complex and thoughtful and absolutely adores Seo Han Joon. These two are the epitome of best friends to me, with all their ups and downs. However, at least they always talk it out, because without each other, it's clear they feel they're missing a part of themselves. At this juncture, I don't think Jo Yoo Jae's is aware he's in love, but somehow, I don't see him running away from it when realisation hits.
That confession was beautiful. Fierce. Fearless. Hey Phu, I'm pointing at you from The Promise, that's the way to do it! #JustSayin'
Hilarious! So they decided not to postpone the episode due to the huge backlash they received on Twitter. You can't make this shit up! This should have been called "The Promise To Give Viewers A Maximum of 15 Minutes Of BL Romance in 10-Episodes, Spanning Nearly 10-hours! What a wasted opportunity of a good story. The fact that the damn sponsor had more screen time than our leads romance says a lot.
I honestly can't get my head around how the Writer and Director thought 10-episodes of ridiculous, unnecessary angst and throwing week-after-week of new plot lines into a drama makes for engaging viewing. Our lead couple had literally been in love all their lives and spent 11-years apart, to give us 15-minutes of romance. WTAF! It could have been so good, that's the frustrating part for me, as the story was already laid bear to be told. Our leads had great chemistry. They could seriously act and were beautiful men. However, it seems that Thailand are just seriously bad at writing and indeed storytelling for the BL genre, which often results in more misses than hits. They seriously need to get off that BL factory production line, fine tune and hone their writing skills and realise, sometimes less is more.
Will I re-watch it? Never. I came here for an adult, 30+ BL love story, which ended up morphing into an unnecessary, angst ridden Lankorn. It's a 5/10 for me and that's only for our leads acting and chemistry.
ikrI wish tv shows here in the US was this good well it is but only with the streaming servicesregular network…
Well, Peaky Blinders has been going for 10-years now and I only watched the first series, wasn't really my thing, but I could appreciate its brilliance.
The writing, directing, editing, flow and for the most part, acting in this drama are just terrible. I honestly find myself astounded that there are three writers on this drama. Their writing is beyond infantile and lacks substance and depth, let alone realism.
It started out as an interesting concept for an office drama, but has morphed into this non-sensical, childish nonsense, with far too many unnecessary filler scenes, cliché stares (allegedly romantic) and painstakingly, cringeworthy pauses in dialogue between our two leads which make for uncomfortable viewing. To me, this is just lazy, lazy writing. I actually like the slow burn. I get it, boss and employee, so from the outset, the dynamics are off. However, I think these two are simply miscast together. Jeng is extremely mature and professional. Pat for the most part a pitiful, bratty child. A man at this juncture in life and level of seniority would simply not fall for someone like Pat. Princess levels of high maintenance spring to mind, irrespective of how beautiful Pat truly is.
Pat's character in the opening episodes was positioned as someone who disliked office gossip, bitching and slagging off the boss. He found these attributes in his co-workers to be abhorrent. He was confident and forthright in his opinions and creative in his innovative thought-process around marketing. However, by episode 5, he was firmly ensconced in the office politics, gossip and bitchiness. I found this to be a wasted opportunity for his character development, because now, what we're left with, is this beyond childish adult male who can't take constructive criticism, only praise. I appreciate Ben is young and this is his first acting role, but in the workshops, they really should have focused on teaching him how to use his facial features to express his emotions and not his mouth. It makes for extremely jarring viewing, seeing his mouth constantly open, gurning, pouting or grimacing whenever he needs to show any kinds of emotions.
The whole narrative around Put is also unbelievable. Pat nearly hyperventilates when he learns he has to work with Put. We see him consciously trying to avoid being in his presence and when he is, he avoids eye contact. He actively asks him at his home "not to do this" when he comes looking for him. He calls him out at the shoot over choosing his drink. Yet, in the blink of an eye, that all changes when assisting to get rid of Kong and having dinner. WTAF was that implausible excuse for ghosting Pat? So, we were dating, in a sexual, loving relationship and "I didn't really understand my feelings for you", so decided to up and leave without saying a word. Lazy, just lazy writing and all it took was a stuffed toy to get him back. Oh please. Spare my brain! Pride and self-respect alone wouldn't allow you to return, let alone the feeling if he did it once, the likelihood is it will happen again.
Why am I still here? Simply because I honestly want to see how the writers plan on bringing Jeng and Pat together within this mess of week-after-week of tedious office dialogue and then once together, how they'll showcase the romance.
This drama will rightly go down as being one of the greatest jokes in the world of Thai BLs. Talk about a shit show of lost opportunities. It says a lot when a writer and director display zero confidence in their final episode, to the point where they need to delay it, not once, but twice.
Kim In Sung as a first time actor, is doing such a brilliant job in the delivery of his lines and emotions. I find myself mesmerised watching him. I hope Ben from Step By Step is watching this, he could learn a lot from Kim In Sung. #JustSayin'
