I like many different genres but a good slice of life drama is the perfect choice after one full of action. Thank you for this great article and introducing me to two dramas "Ojisan wa Kawaii Mono ga Osuki" and "FLY! BOYS, FLY! Bokutachi, CA Hajimemashita". :)
I wish the subber officially dropped the drama so that someone else could pick it up and finish.
On d-addicts a drama will be marked as dropped when a subber shows no activity for 3 months so this shouldn't be an issue. Just checked the page on d-addicts and the post asking for statement from the subber is from 11. March this year so it shouldn't take much longer to get info if it's officially dropped or not. Hopefully someone will pick it up or the subber will continue.
I really don't see any similarities except that they are both supernatural dramas.
How could they copy clothing from a historical Chinese drama when it's a modern Korean drama? Does not make sense to me and I didn't notice any copied clothes.
I need help!!! I finished watching untamed and i am so in love with that drama... I can't move on so i need strong…
This might come late but I watched Eternal Love after The Untamed because I trusted the many good reviews. Eternal Love was a huge letdown for me. I found it draggy and the main leads lacked chemistry for me. I completed it for the couple of Donghua and Fengjiu but since they have their own drama now I would turn down Eternal Love. I gave it a well meant rating of 5.5 because I didn't dislike it completely but I've seen better. For recommendations you might want to take a look at: - Guardian (2018) it gave me the same vibes as The Untamed - Word of Honor (a lot of people say it's similar to The Untamed) - Immortality (hasn't aired yet) - Heaven Official's Blessing (also hasn't aired yet, novel is from the same author as The Untamed)
But after all they're still humans and have feelings my aunt herself got married to her teacher and now they're…
Thank you, Alex. I hope you did not feel attacked by my comment. My comment was merely for empathising once again the difference in my thinking/judging because it seems a few people misunderstand it and think I stand up for pedophiles which is not true.
I used to be against spoilers but now I sometimes ask for spoilers regarding the end of a drama because I watched dramas and was really disappointed by their open end that did not bring anything to a closure or so badly written ends that I felt cheated. I don't mind sad endings as long as they are logical and fitting the story but I'm also the kind of person who likes to see a happy end for characters who suffered throughout the drama so I can say, "it was worthwhile and they got a reward for all their struggles". I would be devastated if they end up badly because everything would seem so pointless then. :) It's very interesting to read how different people think about endings and how they define what a happy ending is for them. Thanks for this great article!
Haha to your question in the beginning of "Have you ever been surprised by the actions of a character in a drama, thinking you would've done differently?" my answer is: Yes, quite often. Of course there are characters you understand better and some you'll never get to understand because they act irrational all the time. A characters action I never get is those of jealous second leads who have no life and just keep butting in when no one asked for them. No rejection could ever stop them and I don't understand how they never give up when it's obviously futile. xD
For me 7 is is still a decent rating and only if it goes below I'm more cautious and read comments/reviews to see if there are good reasons for the low rating. Anyway, I like your article because you're right that seemingly low ratings do not mean that a drama is bad and we should give it a try and make our own opinion. All About My Romance looks indeed quite funny and I'll give it a chance once I reduced my watchlist a bit. :)
I wish I could turn back time and have this article on hand when I first got into Chinese fantasy dramas. Would've helped me a lot so I didn't have to wonder what cultivation means, what the difference between Wuxia and Xianxia is and so on. Congrats to your first article, Blizzardahm! You did a great job, it's informative and has a pretty layout. Hope to read more of you in the future. :)
MY NUMBER ONE FAV ACTOR!! thanks for your summary compilation articleI joined international weibo just for him,…
I agree a 100% :) I also joined Weibo back when I watched Guardian. He's one of the rare actors who make it worthwhile watching a mediocre drama because his performance can make up for a lack of story or less likeable characters. I hope The Rebel will be released this year as previously announced and not postponed.
But after all they're still humans and have feelings my aunt herself got married to her teacher and now they're…
"So I think we have to be careful to distinguish between actions and feelings." And nothing else did I say. I judge people who feel attracted by minors AND ACT based on those feelings meaning they approach with the intension to live out those emotions. I do NOT judge though when someone has those feelings but NEVER approached a minor with illegal/unethical intentions. Like you said, it's difficult to seek help/treatment because of stigma and being judged/looked down at but there are those who do seek for help without ever having hurt a child. My opinion is not to judge thoughts or feelings, but the actions of people.

Okay, first off, did you even read my comment? Obviously not! I did not "romanticize" anything. Please stay to facts and not accuse me of anything I never said, that's really rude. I simply stated I do not judge anyone based on feelings. I judge actions. You can't control feelings but you can control how you act based on them. Also don't spam me with 3 comments here. Thanks.
Perfect review! Well this drama taught me one thing. Never bother again when a drama has characters like Su Jin and Xuan Nu. Just drop it like it's hot. xD
This was a great read! I am also a “mood” watcher, alternating between a heavy and light drama. Thanks for…
Thank you for reading. I'm happy to hear you liked my article. :) Ah yeah the heavy and light drama. I'm in need of something light after completing "Tale of the Nine Tailed" so I totally understand what you mean.
