For me 7 is is still a decent rating and only if it goes below I'm more cautious and read comments/reviews to see if there are good reasons for the low rating.
Anyway, I like your article because you're right that seemingly low ratings do not mean that a drama is bad and we should give it a try and make our own opinion.
All About My Romance looks indeed quite funny and I'll give it a chance once I reduced my watchlist a bit. :)

I wish I could turn back time and have this article on hand when I first got into Chinese fantasy dramas. Would've helped me a lot so I didn't have to wonder what cultivation means, what the difference between Wuxia and Xianxia is and so on.

I agree a 100% :) I also joined Weibo back when I watched Guardian. He's one of the rare actors who make it worthwhile watching a mediocre drama because his performance can make up for a lack of story or less likeable characters.
I hope The Rebel will be released this year as previously announced and not postponed.

I do NOT judge though when someone has those feelings but NEVER approached a minor with illegal/unethical intentions. Like you said, it's difficult to seek help/treatment because of stigma and being judged/looked down at but there are those who do seek for help without ever having hurt a child.
My opinion is not to judge thoughts or feelings, but the actions of people.

The network is tencent. Question is when it will air and if the previous date was a mere rumor or really a hint it will air soon. ^^

The date is now gone and it's back to blank... I expected it to not air on 8. April but I still hoped for the unlikely to happen. :(

Perfect review! Well this drama taught me one thing. Never bother again when a drama has characters like Su Jin and Xuan Nu. Just drop it like it's hot. xD

Ah yeah the heavy and light drama. I'm in need of something light after completing "Tale of the Nine Tailed" so I totally understand what you mean.

I think I would enjoy Goblin for its bromance and comedy but the romance part would most likely be the opposite from what I've seen and heard. I might give it a try though because I agree, his acting is indeed brilliant. Still need to complete Tale of the Nine Tailed because I got into a drama slump a bit. ^^'

Take your time. I totally understand that emotions about him are still fresh. I'm relieved I did not see him in any drama before so he's a stranger to me, this makes it easier once I'll watch it.

I feel the same way, but I love the actresses Choi Ri and Hong Ji Yoon from other dramas already and feel also wrong to throw away the effort they put in. It's not their fault that he's an idiot. I will watch it for them I think.

So far you can't watch Border Town Prodigal completely with english subs because they were previously dropped by Viki and picked up from Purple Text (former Purple Translations https://purple-text.tumblr.com).
The current status is 37/50 episodes subbed (available on Subscene) and no update since November 2020.

I don't know of any official source where you could watch them with subs. You can find it english subbed up to episode 32 on dramacool, you can download ep 33-37 there and play them on a video player offline with the downloaded subs.

Became a fan of him while watching Code Blue and plan to watch the majority of his other dramas and the miniseries The Head (2020). Hope we'll get to see him in many more interesting roles and series/movies.

We should not watch it on illegal sites like kissasian but from the subber who went through the effort to make the subs (Ichihachi Subs - https://www.ichihachisubs.com/aoki). kissasian is only stealing them.

Congrats to your first article! It's very well written and I loved reading about the different characters and why they became your favorite. I haven't watched this dramas and right now I need to clear my watchlist as it's too huge already so I'll pass for now even though it's tempting. ;D
My current favorite is Ye Zhao from Oh My General, I liked the concept of a female general/warrior and prefer strong female leads in dramas. Hope to see a part 2 of this article and many more articles from you. Please stick to writing. :)
