I do see your point but to me the adds were not a "few" it was excessive. xD And honestly, I've never seen a drama…
For me it was sadly not just the advertisement but also the story. I think the story had great potential but was not well executed. I'm not trying to badmouth the drama, when I started it I was really excited. In the end I rooted more for the side pairing than for the leads though. It's disappointing that the script made the FL cry that much. It was not necessary and at some point uncomfortable to watch.

I know where you're coming from with trying to work if a drama is actually good or not from its ratings on here.…
I think one can find out which reviews are written by a biased person and which not. Reviews or ratings don't mirror your opinion of course. To be able to make a judgment on your own you have to watch the drama or at least a part of it. Ratings, reviews, comments and all other things I mentioned can give you an impression of the drama but they won't tell you if the drama will be your next favorite or if you'll end up dropping it. That's the risk we live with because taste is subjective and opinions differ. The trope someone hates could be the one I like and vice-versa.
I just added a drama simply because I saw a friend of mine wrote an article about it. The information and screenshots I've seen were enough to make me add the drama. I did not check ratings, reviews or anything on the dramas page. Just went to it to add it to my watchlist. Things like this happen and my article's purpose is to encourage others to do things like this. Dive in, make a new experience. You might get something good out of it. :)

My criteria to pick a show is a bit complex to say the least haha. I first read a bit about the synopsis and then…
Writer, director and production crew is something I ignored for a while. Only recently did I start to actually take a look sometimes. After I finished The King: Eternal Monarch and found the script had quite some plot holes I looked up the writer and realized she had been the writer of other dramas I did not find good. It's interesting to hear that someone doesn't check ratings. I still look at them but they get less relevant each time. ^^
Thank you for reading. I'm happy to hear you find my article helpful. :)

It's sad how fans of this drama call people who don't agree on their opinion dumb brained people or saying their brain couldn't comprehend it.
Can we please stay fair and not go out calling others dumb just because they don't share your opinion? Watch the drama, have fun. Don't insult others.

I saw so many bad reviews here that I'm not sure if I should watch or not ;(
I agree with Sunset on this. The drama isn't all bad but I think that it had more potential than it actually delivered in the end.
The advertisement/product placement in this drama is all over the place. There's no use in downplaying it and I found it horribly distracting from the storyline at some point. I watch a drama for the story and characters not to be told how beauty product XY is used or watching coffee bottle #100 in a scene. The story itself is interesting but it does lack logic and the plot has holes.
I liked the drama for the side characters more than the actual main leads. Their chemistry was okay, personally I've seen better. The OST is indeed good, the question is what do you want to see and for what reason you watch a drama. If you're into fantasy dramas and don't mind flaws you might end up enjoying it. If you're looking for something with a wrapped up ending and neat writing, do not watch this.
I'm not hating on the drama just because I gave it a lower rating than 8. In my opinion it was not that good and there are better dramas out there.

I love this drama! I do not understand all the hate. I mean, there are indeed some adds, but which drama does…
I do see your point but to me the adds were not a "few" it was excessive. xD
And honestly, I've never seen a drama where I'm told how a beauty product is used, or how good a face mask is or a drama where coffee bottles are in scenes you least expect them. They overdid it in this drama. I'm happy though that you liked it. Sadly I could not ignore the products, they took almost all spotlight.

Aside from praying (which might help) would Fanmade Videos be an alternative? That's easier to find. It helped me a lot after The Untamed and Guardian when I struggled to let go of the dramas. xD

Feeds can be also quite inspiring. I found some great screenshots there that made me want to watch a drama. ^^

Could someone tell me what the drama at the beginning under Mystic Pop Up Bar is?Also the one above Watadou. Thanks!
When you mean "Watashitachi wa Douka Shiteiru" with Watadou then the one above is "Kuzu no Honkai".
You can find the complete list of the dramas (with links) at the end of my article.

The initial motivation to consider a show is mostly random for me: Tag search, cover design, popular upcoming…
For me it depends on if I search for something specific because I'm looking for a certain genre for example (using the search and filters then) or just want to get inspired (main page is always a good start).

Me too. Tragedy is something I struggle with. I watch dramas with the tag but I have to be in the right mood for it, otherwise I better avoid.

Wonderful article! I've never given much thought to how exactly I decide on a show but I could relate to a lot…
Hey dear. Thank you for stopping by. ^^
Curiosity is something that makes me start dramas but my mood has the upper hand and when it doesn't agree then I end up putting dramas on hold like how it recently happened with Eternal Love of Dream. I was curious of the main leads romance but my mood was against it. Meh. >.<

There are so many possibilities. Sometimes a screenshot of a drama is enough to make me curious and go for a drama. Thank you for commenting, I'm happy to hear you find the article helpful. :)

It's hard to find fan fictions for Dramas. It has to be super popular to actually even get stories written for it. I checked Fanfiction.net too, but there are none. Sorry. ^^'

Thank you! AvenueX's funny music video makes you realize that there are lot of these dramas with love in the title.…
The problem is to find a title that sounds innovative when there's always the word "love" in it. At some point it sounds too similar.
AvenueX is great. She's my go-to when I need some thoughts on a C-Drama. xD

Great article though it sadly comes too late for me. I already went through the confusion of Eternal Love titles. The words "Eternal" and "Love" are definitely overused in C-Dramas. xD
At first I thought Eternal Love and The Eternal Love are connected. I'm kind of happy Eternal Love of Dream hadn't been announced back then, otherwise I would've been completely lost.

I watched Eternal Love but completed it mostly because of Bai Feng Jiu and Donghua Dijun. They were my favorite couple in the drama. I started their drama but my mood got in the way so I put it aside for the time being.

The Eternal Love is on my watchlist. Will get to it one day. ^^
As for the Music Video for Kris Wu single I also just recently watched it. It's really nice, I liked it. :)

Great article! it's interesting to see how everyone has different ways of finding a new drama. -For me definitely…
Thank you. Indeed it's really interesting to see how differently people find dramas and how they decide.

Waiting for episodes can be quite a challenge and I prefer having the option to watch as many episodes as I want when I crave the drama. xD
Tags are helpful when you want to know details. Genre can give an overview but if you want specific topics looking at the tags is recommended.
Giving unknown casts and dramas that differ from my usual watches also gave me good results so far. I discovered a lot of talented actors and plots I didn't know would be my cup of tea. ^^

Youtube gave me some real strange recommendations but once in a while there's also something really good among them. xD
Yeah the mood is definitely the one who has the last word when it comes to watching drama. xD
