Flower of Evil looked interesting but I was not into the serial killer tag so I passed (for now). You're right about not enjoying the experience. That's why I encourage people to drop a drama if they really don't like it. I have a couple dramas I should've dropped but didn't and in the end I regret it. Felt like I wasted time on them when there are so many other good dramas.

I can imagine. Tags can be so helpful. I just watched the movie Pieta and forgot it had a rape scene in it. Looking at the tags would've helped me not being so surprised. xD
We tend to be shocked when we see a drama rating that is below 7 even though we shouldn't. Just because a majority of people did not like it, doesn't mean you won't as well. Same with very good ratings. Some hyped dramas were a real letdown for me, yet they have a rating of 9.

Thank you. :) Wow 159 is a number. These still look huge to me but I'm not afraid anymore. I have quite some long dramas on my list this year. Right now I'm watching two with 60 episodes. xD

That's true. Which is why I get confused like "haven't I seen this drama cover somewhere before" and then it turns out to be just really similar but not the same actually. Also names. It took me a while to keep "Love and Redemption" apart from "Love and Destiny".

That would be probably me with Birthcare Center. I dived into it because it seemed like a breath of fresh air topic wise. Turned out to be a new favorite of mine.
When I happen to be confused I actually return to read the synopsis hoping it can help me. xD

I think that's a really good tactic. I can actually relate to it and it's best if it works for you. That's the most important. :)

I am interested in picking up your idea and make more articles like this. Thank you for sharing the insight of how you got inspired to start this series. It's actually also the reason why I'm liking it.

I find it good to see two different opinions on the same drama because it shows how universal taste can be and that both opinions have a right to be said.

I'm glad to hear that you're okay with someone "borrowing" your idea because as a writer myself I totally understand how it feels to have "a baby" like this and cherishing it.

When I do write an article like this I would give you credit by mentioning you and your co-writers and also link to your articles if that's okay for you. That way, users could also visit your articles and read them as well.

I hope you don't think I would have gone for this without your consent. Of course I would've asked you first personally. I'm currently writing on four other articles non-related to this so it will be a while before I get to it anyway which is why I have not contacted you (yet).

Maybe I should go and claim the idea first. I already started writing on it. xD Thank you for the advice, will do that tomorrow. (It's an unholy time at my place now and I should rather sleep)

That or you're just a really open person which is not bad. :) Honestly sometimes overthinking something is not the best way to do it. There are times when you get benefitted for just diving in and not think much about what awaits you.

I tried to sort the criteria based on the order I usually follow when I discover a new drama and need to decide if I give it a go or not. It seems we have a similar approach. :)
Last year I sit through some dramas that I should've dropped but didn't for some reason (watch challenge, few good things...). But I got better at dropping too. Dropped a few dramas after only 2 episodes because I did not enjoy it at all and started questioning it from the beginning which is never a good sign. xD

That's totally fine. After all it's one of the, if not the first thing we notice of a drama anyway and honestly some of them are pure candy for the eyes.

That's true. When it comes to Chinese Dramas I take a look at AvenueX' channel for example. Recently she saved me from a few dramas I found potentially interesting. :)

And here I am feeling there might be people not taking me seriously if I rate a drama with 10 and also put it in my review because it does seem like I'm biased. xD I can't help it though, sometimes you come across a gem that leaves you speechless of how good it was. It's good though to look at low rating reviews because if they can reasonably explain what is bad about a drama it's quite helpful.

That's good, I encourage you to dive into something unknown though. You can encounter gems this way. :)

I used to think the same way and I still feel stressed when I see episodes being over an hour long but recently I watched Birthcare Center (episodes length around 1 hour and 8 minutes) and I can speak from experience now, it looks scarier as it is. ^^
On the other hand I've seen episodes that feel draggy as well on other dramas but then it's mostly a problem in scriptwriting and bad pacing in the entire drama.
